About this property

On the water of Little Traverse Bay with a great waterfront view of the sunsets

A rare find right on Little Traverse Bay with a view of Harbor Springs and a cache of petoskey stones on the beach. A fire pit and a balcony with a creek running right through to the bay. A short walk up the street takes you to bicycle and kayak rentals. You could stay gone all day just bicycling and come back for a bonfire on the beach.

The Tunnel of Trees is only a few miles away and a beautiful drive in the fall as the trees show their colors. You can continue up the coast to small towns and end up at the Mackinaw Bridge.

Winter brings snow and there are downhill ski areas as well as cross country ski areas. Boyne Falls offers both. Nubs Nob in Harbor Springs is also close by. Snowmobile trails are ubiquitous but please inquire in advance so we can tell you where to park your trailers.

We had a wonderful month long stay at The Happy Place. The location is amazing----from both large sets of picture windows in the living room you look out on Little Traverse Bay----even on a rainy day you feel like you are "right there"sitting by the water. The host was terrific and we were just a two minute drive/seven minute walk from the Gaslight District in Petoskey--- yet also close enough for me to get to Boyne Highlands golf courses in about 15 minutes. We will definetly be back to this ideal location and cozy home.

The Happy Place cottage.
It was as nice as listed . The view out of the living room and two of the bedrooms was awesome. Nice place for being a older property. Far exceeded our expectations. To bad a bug hatching was a inconvenience. Would stay there again. Thanks Thomas Farmer.

Waterfront views and excellent location
This charming waterfront cottage in Petoskey was great! We stayed during winter and enjoyed skiing the nearby resorts, and the wintery waterfront view was nice to have. The operator was very responsive to messages. Highly recommend!

Great location
Excellent view of Little Traverse Bay. Close to everything. Disappointment with TV. Could not obtain usual cable channels live, only streaming stuff. No directions for using Spectrum, not even from the local Spectrum office! Otherwise, we had a great time.

Ok place in Petoskey
The host is wonderful. Tried extremely hard. But there was no TV. Despite our best efforts. May have went better if there were games to play? Since tv wouldn't work. Host went all out trying to get it to work. They think they came up w a solution, but in case, come up with a back up plan for dark evening s and nothing to do. Was wonderful spot to look for petsokey stones. Their housekeeper needs to do a better job for how much money she receives on the cleaning. How hard is it to dust the furniture? Vacuum the food crumbs out of the chairs? Oh well, it was our first VRBO and it will be our last. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea. We thought it would work better than a hotel but it didn't. Hotel was cheaper and had tv, and cleaning lady. I would have liked it to go better. Really liked host. But I'm being truthful.

This house belongs to my parents in the picture. My Step-dad passed away and left mom a life estate. This house was their happy place. Mom needs more care than we can provide her in her home, so we offer this space to help pay for her to stay in the grand manner she was accustomed to when her husband was alive.

I am Sandra, and am responsible for all the details of this listing, so if you need ANYTHING, please feel free to call or text.

Why they chose this property

This is a special property at the end of the road and on the water, that offers privacy, especially in the off season.

What makes this property unique

This location puts you ON the water facing the million dollar sunsets over Little Traverse Bay every night that Mother Nature decides to open the clouds. The rocky beach never fails to produce petoskey stones to take home. There is a lovely built in fire pit with some tree protection should you decide to chill by the water. At the top of the street, where it meets 31, there is a ski shoppe that offers bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and skis for rent.
