This is no “oasis.” We checked in late at night and entered the first floor apartment, which looks out on the parking spaces and it was infested with moths— everywhere. They were in the kitchen, the bathroom towels, the bedding, pillows, couch cushions, window coverings, kitchen towels. We checked in late at night and I didn’t want to contact the owners about this issue until the morning. In fairness, the owners did come out in the morning to attempt to address the situation. It was, for the most part, resolved. The main problem, however, was that the only outdoor area for the unit was about 50 feet away around the pool. On Sunday it was fine, but another guest told me that construction next door would begin bright and early the next morning. At 8:02 am Monday morning the construction started up and we could hear it from the apartment. The noise was intolerable around the pool as it was only about 30-40 feet from the commercial construction site.I contacted the owner and said we could not possibly enjoy our week at the “oasis” they described in the listing with the cacophony of the building site right next to the pool. The owner said that the site wasn’t under construction when we made the reservation, so they did not misrepresent the property. The owner agreed to refund me 1100 and told me that VRBO would refund my fees. VRBO told me that they couldn’t refund me if the owner didn’t give me 100% back. Bottom line- I lost 700 and had to spend 2400 on a hotel.
