Super little place

There is a tv in the driveway and some bed rails. Someone should take care of it. The dumpsters were closed. The coffee maker didn’t work but the pour over was fine. The unit was great for me

The host had to cancel the reservation due to the hurricane. Fortunately we had travel insurance because dealing with Vacasa was a nightmare.

Quiet location but no air conditioner or dishwasher. A bit rundown. No view.

Inadequate silverware, only 1 small bar of soap to share between bath sink and shower, broken bulb in living room lamp, only 1 thin drying cloth in kitchen and broken hot water faucet in shower. Overall the unit needs refreshing.

Photos Looked Really Inviting, But…

Upon driving into the unit’s driveway, we were greeted by a smashed junction box, then a maroon car with the front left bumper missing. There was a very dirty white car in the next parking spot. Adjacent to that was the smashed maroon bumper, a Tv and a set of bed rails! We thought, “What is going on here?” When we entered the unit, we felt it was smaller and darker than the advertised photo! We were aware that the bedroom and only bathroom were on the second floor, but we found it inconvenient that the bathroom was up there! Speaking of the bathroom, I was drying my hair, when I smelled “something burning”; immediately the GFI switch blew! We contacted the designated service manager; Tyler and Wesley stopped by promptly and attempted to repair the switch, but they indicated there was a Bigger problem. So, we had no working electrical switch for our last two days in the bathroom. We had also reported to service that we couldn’t locate the remote control for the living room TV; they couldn’t find it, and returned later with a remote. It would have been helpful to have had a set of instructions for that TV! We appreciated having a laundry, and we found the kitchen adequate, but we used it only for light breakfasts. We will not revisit this unit!

It was okay but not the best for summer months

There’s no AC. It was 80+ degrees everyday and got hotter in the house than it was outside so we had to keep every door and window open. This just led to humidity coming inside and was muggy feeling at night. The shower doesn’t drain and wasn’t the cleanest. Past guests didn’t wash their dishes properly so if you do book the place I highly recommend washing anything before you use it. The neighbors stayed up till 4AM every night and at one point were smoking. We didn’t care much at first but because we had to leave the windows open the smell went everywhere which was slightly irritating and we had to listen to their music and conversations. I think it’d be an okay place to stay in the winter but a no go for summer!

Hard to find

First off they had the place mislabeled and very hard to find up the long driveway like at the tip of the mountainno where near the stated location on thir site or any map service. As I was looking for the actual location I called and got one of the reps on the phone who had absolutely no idea where the rental was located and had me walking in circles for an hour in the pouring rain. Bad rental service if you have your main office across the street and cannot help the client find their rental in a timely manner. When we finally found it the place was dirty, coffee left in the coffee machine, counters dirty and hair all over the bed sheets. We had to clean the kitchen and bed sheets immediately to feel comfortable enough to stay. I am super easy going but this was quite difficult and don't think I would rent from vacasa again if possible.

Nice place definitely bring 4x4 if there is snow

No complaints, the property was clean and the location right next to Sugar Mountain was awesome (we came to go skiing). Booking through Vrbo was easy and I felt communication was excellent. The hills up to the house are really steep so if there is any snow definitely bring a vehicle with 4wd or Awd (it's listed in Vrbo so I was aware, but I thought I might be able to get by with my Fwd, I was incorrect and we ended up needing to walk up to the house. Lol). Overall, we'd definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone else.

Great Location for a Ski Getaway

The place was the perfect spot for our weekend trip to Sugar Mountain. It was close to the slopes, nearby restaurants and looked as it did in the listing. It was clean and communication with the management group was easy.

Perfect short stay

This condo fit our needs perfectly. We just needed a quick stay for a couple nights for an App State game. Although a bit far from Boone (not too bad), I would have liked more time to explore the area near the condo.

Quiet Retreat

The condo was cozy and had a well stocked kitchen. We loved the balcony on the back. We stayed in August and it was humid and a little uncomfortable without air conditioning. We did buy a window fan to put in our room that was upstairs. The location was close to all kinds of destinations and stores. We had a great time.

Don’t go

Cabin was not clean and did not resemble picture as shown. The footstool was crushed in, the screen door was off track and sitting on the deck. The deck looked as if it hadn’t been swept or cleaned. Steps and around fireplace dirty. The smell in the cabin was musty and mildewed with no way to open windows (no screen except entry door) or back door without letting in bugs. Very disappointing! Was looking forward to the stay because it had high ratings. Vacasa only wanted to give me a % of cost back, we left immediately. Don’t waste your time or money!

Excellent location - just what we needed

We came to the area for a quick day of skiing, and this property had everything we needed. It is nicely appointed with all the comforts of home. We didn't have time to make a fire, but note that if you're planning to utilize the fireplace you'll need to bring firestarter/wood/etc. The bed is comfortable and so is the furniture in the living room. Note that this property, despite being pet-friendly, was very clean. We noticed a little animal hair on the sofa, but it was by far the cleanest pet friendly place we've ever stayed at. Excellent location if you're heading to Sugar, and convenient to Banner Elk restaurants, etc.

Weekend Trip

We had a weekend trip here with our friends for MLK weekend. Very nice place to stay near Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. Cozy and fun on the inside. The only thing is that the insulation isn’t done that well so the floors and rooms get pretty cold in the winter if the heaters aren’t on! Other than that no complaints! We would come back again.
