The house and the location were exactly what I was looking for. Located near Sandstone Falls and Big Branch Trail. The house is well stocked and clean. The screen porch with the view of the river is a great place to relax. Excellent 2 night stay.
Wanted a clean, comfortable, well equiped, property near mountains on the river with a fantastic view. We got all of this plus a nice yard with a fire pit. Everything we needed and wanted!
We enjoyed our time here immensely! Staying right next to the river was such a calming experience. The cabin was clean and cozy, and we immediately felt at home. Being able to bring our dogs with us made the hikes and local exploration perfect!
Just what we were looking for. Met all of our needs. Kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the screened porch with cheese and crackers and a cool refreshing adult beverage and watching the New River go by. Very convenient location to Sandstone Falls. We also drove to Oak Hill and Fayetteville and Grand View for hiking and visiting old abandoned coal mining towns in the New River Gorge National Park.
Having drinking water provided (5 gallon jugs on a dispenser) was a nice touch, and very much appreciated.
Would definitely stay here again.
Thank you.
Lovely clean home, with everything needed for a few days away and beautiful views of the river. Everything was perfect. Just what we needed. Will definitely be back next time in town!
The cabin was clean and very well stocked and equipped. The location is awesome, right on the river. The fishing right at the cabin was good just below the riffles. Be careful wading the rocks are slippery. No neighbors within sight so very private. The check in process couldn’t have been any easier.
The property was beautiful, convenient location, well furnished, and well stocked. We had everything we needed. Evan was great. He was a great commumicator, and super attentive and pleasamt.
This place is a gem. Great location as you can’t see any neighbors, on the river, but close enough to the grocery store. Also, only a few minutes for Sandstone Falls and Bluestone State Park! The river access is awesome, the house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with essentials. We will definitely be back!
We spent a few nites here exploring the area. The house had everything we needed. We cooked most of our meals at home and the kitchen was fully stocked. Enjoyed the screens in porch listening to the river. Both beds were very comfy. We hung out by the fire (there was plenty of wood) across the street we had river access and I even caught a fish! The house does sit next to a road- but there was very little traffic and it’s quiet and peaceful. It’s a great location to go explore we visited a coal mine, fished, did lots of hiking, explored a cave and at the end of the day had our own little house to come back to. Wild and wonderful WV -we don’t do anything wild but is sure was wonderful!
This location was perfect for our weekend trip to New River Gorge. The house had everything we needed and we loved the big screened in porch and river view. Definitely recommend going less than 10 mins up the road to the Sandstone Falls Boardwalk.
Lovely quiet stay!
Comfy beds
Easy access
Beautiful water view in rustic mountain lodge.
Location was perfect for attending new river gorge and surrounding area!
Very private stretch of road. Don't let the exterior photo limit your expectations. Everything was great: Comfortable beds, nice bedding, well stocked kitchen, nice silverware, even sharp knives. The living room was large and the furniture comfortable. You can tell a lot of effort goes into furnishing this property.
We had a terrific stay. Clean and comfortable. The view of the river is great. The location is convenient to upper new river, bluestone lake, a bit farther to the new river gorge national park.
This is a perfect get away, no immediate neighbors so it was nice to sit on the porch and hear the river flowing. Has a great river access for fishing just across the street from the cabin! The owner was very responsive when messaged. We will be going back!

This cottage is adorable and cozy! We enjoyed the enclosed front porch with the beautiful view so much. The owner supplied what was needed for modest cooking (salt, pepper, seasoning, cooking spray & oil). The furtiture and beds are comfortable and the TVs worked well. We had a small issue with the coffee maker the first day but the owner fixed it promptly. The town of Hinton is just a mile or so away and it is so cute. Sandstone Falls was a short drive in the other directon on the same road as the cottage. We did drive to the NRG bridge and overlook areas one day, about 1 hour away. We did not end up using the riverside platform at the house as it was chilly and overcast/rainy when we were there. I imagine in sunny warmer weather we'd have used it more.
This cabin was just what we were looking for! Perfect home base for our visit to the New River Gorge National Park. It's in a quiet location with the river right across the street and the mountains in the back yard. Beds and furniture were comfortable, we loved the front porch overlooking the river. The host communicated with us a couple of times, very easy to contact.

Ive lived in West Virginia all my life. Love the area and people.
Why they chose this property
Nothing like waterfront on the New River. Lots of nature. Lots of areas to relax. No neighbors.
What makes this property unique
Staying waterfront is the only way to go. One of the few places along the river where you can swim, fish, and boat without even leaving the property.
