About this property

Salmon Run Lodge (Waterfront on the Moose River)

Are you looking for your dream waterfront getaway in rural Maine? If so, look no further! Boasting a large dock system for watercraft storage, direct access to Moosehead Lake, a location just minutes to Mount Kineo, direct ATV and snowmobile trail access, and much more, this gorgeous and perfectly located home has everything you need to make your dream getaway come true! Rockwood has a very healthy deer and moose population, and sightings are extremely common in the dusk and dawn hours! Canoe, kayak or just float in an inner tube from the head of Moose River three miles down to the dock at camp. Or, leave the dock with the golf clubs and travel by boat three miles down the lake to Mt Kineo. The golf course is there is a wonderful gem built in the 1800s. There is also a state park there for hiking and ferry service. This home is supremely located just 25 minutes from downtown Greenville, where there is a grocery store and hospital. Rockwood also has some great dining and outdoor activity opportunities within a very short distance. After a long summer day, enjoy the use of three heat pumps in the home to keep things cool! Local activities include snowmobiling, hiking, ATV riding, hunting, fishing, skiing (Squaw Mountain is just 15 minutes away), cross country skiing, and so much more! Just a short distance from the house is the mouth of the Moose River, where it flows into Moosehead Lake. This riverside retreat offers the free use of two kayaks and a canoe included with your booking! This location is arguably some of the best fishing in the entire region, and large schools of landlocked salmon often cruise the river right behind the house! Book today!

Through our partner, Big Lake Concierge and Property Maintenance, we are able to offer concierge services to the home as well as powersports deliveries. If this is something you are interested in, feel free to inquire!

Beautiful location!

The location was beautiful, right on the river and beautiful views. Close to trails for ATV. The Rockwood bar and grill fed us two nights and we enjoyed it! The home was cozy and had the essentials. We enjoyed spending time in the downstairs living room. The house could have had a deeper clean (just lots of cob webs and some bugs around lights) I also wish there was less responsibility on the guests. We had to do laundry and take all of our trash. This left us in a rush and waking up early to ensure the laundry was managed. Over all, the views and eagles we saw made it worth it!
