About this property

Serene Cabin on 400 acres, deep in woods w/ a pond. Perfect for 2, can sleep 8

PLEASE NOTE: there is a small creek crossing to get to our cabin, about 1-2 feet deep, depending on the recent rainfall. A SUV or truck would be ideal for this, though we have had cars make it through just fine. We will be installing a bridge by spring 2025.

Snuggled right against the woods, this cabin sits on a 400 acre farm. It was built on our working farm in 2003 to be rustic, with no plumbing or electricity, and has been enjoyed by our family and friends for almost 20 years. It's now been totally remodeled and we're excited to share our cabin and our farm with you!

Our cabin is a full mile off of the main road, so you'll enjoy a beautiful drive on our farm to get there and complete tranquility while you're there. It is a peace and quiet like you've probably never known, and just wait until you see the stars! Relax in the hot tub overlooking a pond that is stocked with fish. Or play in the creek that you'll drive over on your way! Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch and grilling out on the large side porch.

Inside is one big, open room with plenty of sleeping options, including a queen bed on the main floor, 2 queens in the cozy loft (PLEASE NOTE: this has a clearance of 4.5 feet), and a pull-out full size sofa bed in the living room. It’s PERFECT for just two people, or can sleep up to 8.

Our farm is 10 minutes from Baileyton, which has a Dollar General and several restaurants and gas stations, but you may want to stop at a grocery store and stock up on your way here :) nice restaurants and lots of fun things to do in Greeneville, Johnson City, and Kingsport, which are all an easy 20-25 minute drive away. Plenty of hiking, waterfalls, horseback riding, mountain bike and many state parks. We are about 40 minutes from Bristol and 1 h 15 min from Knoxville.

As said above, our farm is a working farm and we sell all-natural, pasture-raised beef direct to customers. So if you are interested in us putting some delicious steaks, ground beef, a roast, or anything else in the fridge for your stay, we'd be happy to do so! Just check out woolseyoverlookfarm.com, and let us know you want it taken to the cabin!

Peaceful Family Getaway
We loved it here! Kara was super easy to work with, even though she wasn’t even on the property that weekend. We loved having fresh meat from the farm waiting for us in the fridge! Make sure you ask about that before your trip (but note that you need to purchase it if you want some). The cell service was very spotty there which ended up being a huge blessing actually, as we were more intentional about being away from screens and doing things together. The pond out front was probably our boys’ favorite part, and they caught some nice bass! We also saw lots of wildlife outside our door and on our walks along the driveway (which is VERY long, so be aware! It can feel when you first show up like you’re lost or on the wrong property). Only drawback was that it poured down rain one night, which made the little creek we had to drive through to get in and out of the cabin too deep to drive in our minivan. But Kara was super responsive and apologetic about that too, and we ended up just having a chill day at the cabin that day instead. I would advise if you have anything like a truck or higher sitting SUV to drive that in case of something like that happening during your stay though. Everything was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the hot tub was a great treat. What little things weren’t “perfect” were not a big deal to us. We would definitely stay again! Thanks again Kara for all your help!

Couldn't Be More Perfect
Our stay couldn't have been more perfect. A lot of thought was put into this cute little cabin. It's small, but has everything you need for your stay and then some! The owners are the best in communicating and answering questions. They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. Our kiddos were surprised to even see toys and games available in the cabin. We did game nights nightly while waiting for food to cook in the adorable little kitchen. The hot tub was a nice treat as well. The ponds were so much fun to fish out of. The kids were excited to experience it all. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay, we most definitely will be back!

Great place
It was tough to get in and out of the property. It wasn’t marked and the address didn’t match the address on the street. They said they would provided 1-2 pounds of ground beef from their farm, but they must have forgotten. Otherwise it was great. Would not recommend for elderly parents though.

Awesome Country Getaway
We had our family of 8 visit over the New Year's weekend. The cabin looks rustic, but has all the modern amenities a family could want. The surrounding farmland is beautiful and worth walking around. Our kids had a great time here too and they really enjoyed the loft. Great place to unwind and disconnect for a few days. We did some local attractions recommended by the owners, Bristol Caverns and Downtown Greeneville. There's a really cute automobile museum downtown that has some neat cars! Overall, a great stay for our large family!

Cozy place
We had an absolutely wonderful time here. It was warm and cozy, it had a touch of modern but still had that cabin feeling. Kara and Gavin were amazing to work with, communication was top notch. The cabin is set in the country on a very large farm. I encourage anyone to explore the property as the views are beautiful. Our overall experience was great. I would highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a great country getaway. 5+ stars!!
