Very unusual, cosy house - great hostess
Small house but cosy. A very unusual house with everything you need. Well equipped kitchen, nice little balcony. Towels, bed linen everything is there. The city centre is close, even closer by tram or bike. The beach is about 15 minutes away. The nicer beach (‘Zuid’) behind the harbour about 20-25 minutes walk. Highly recommended. Shopping facilities (supermarkets, bakery) within walking distance or by bike. Very pleasant residential area. The hostess is very attentive and helpful and has created a small idyll. Parking in Holland is very special. You should infrom about it in advance. The coach house is well worth booking.

We enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay in the coach house. We were very lucky with the weather and spent every night on the rooftop. The location is quiet and yet you are very fast shopping. We did not use the car for the whole week and explored everything by bike. Delft, Gouda, Leiden were visited by us. Great beaches between Katwijk and Scheveningen are easily accessible by bicycle. The beautiful cycle- and footpath between the Dünen is wonderful. The tram stop is only 200 meters away. The train station of Den Haag is only about 5 km away. Tipp: behind the station there is a free guarded parking garage for cycles. For sightseeing to Amsterdam we took the train from Den Haag. We can recommend the holiday bur. The house is cozy and well equipped. Plenty of towels, sheets and if necessary even washing machine and dryer available. Price / performance is in a very good relationship. Louise is a very friendly and caring owner and always available / if necessary.

shabby accommodation without parking lot
The accomodation is neglected with many cobwebs, dirty windows, neglected terrace and nasty towels and linens. Also the furniture is quite worn. contrary to previous reviews, it must be pointed out that in the kitchen no spices, salt or other basic ingredients can be found. In the vacation rental offer is advertised (under the keyword highlights!), that the apartment has a parking lot, but there i no parking lot at the the apartment. That means, if you come to this accommodation by car, you have to pay high parking fees . In addition, it was very unpleasant that the landlady demanded an extremly high Price an extra night. There is a point for the good location of the accommodation.

Great location!
We arrived via train & tram (see below). The Coach House is situated mid-way between The Hague center and the shore in Scheveningen. The Coach House was great--we did not end up needing the kitchen, but it looked fine. My only complaint was the toilet room was a bit tight for me at 6 feet tall. I would still stay again due to the great location. We were so busy enjoying the area that we ended up just sleeping there! We rented bikes, and they were perfect for seeing and doing all we wanted. My partner was wondering about the history of this little place. It would be nice to know more about it! If you arrive by train, go to the Hollands Spoor station, then get on the #1 tram to the Frankenslag stop. That puts you less than half a block from the Coach House.

Great Place, Great Location
My husband and I recently stayed at the coach house for a little over two weeks when relocating to The Hague. The coach house is very cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedroom is very comfortable (in a second story) with a nice terrace, internet worked perfectly, as did the washer and dryer, the property was clean and well maintained and the information provided for how everything worked was very clear. It is also perfectly located, a short walk from the Scheveningse Bosjes, a wonderful park, and Frederik Hendriklaan, a street with all sorts of shops and places to grab something to eat. It is also very close (walking distance) to the beach. It's conveniently located to reach the center, either a 15-20 minute bicycle ride or approximately the same time in tram (trams 1 and 17 have stops nearby). Louise was very quick to reply to our enquiries, and was always available should we need anything. We were lucky to have stayed at the coach house and been able to approach our relocation from it as our base. We loved it and definitely recommend it either for vacation or if you are in business in The Hague!

Central and quiet
Nice little house with cozy interior and everything you need. We stayed there one week after Christmas. From the house to the beach of Scheveningen you need only 15 Minutes by foot; to the city center of The Hague you go by tram few stations only. Shopping facilities are also nearby. But be aware of the stairs to the upper sleeping area: these are very steep and narrow! Especially in the night when you need the toilet in the ground floor you better watch your steps … The bathroom doesn’t have any heating. So it’s use is really a challenge for wimps like me :-)

The same with the kitchenette. Unfortunately the sliding doors to the kitchenette and the small entrance area weren’t really free moving so it was difficult to prevent the cold coming in. Therefore we give only 4 stars. But in any “warmer” season the location is absolutely recommendable!

Cute and friendly
I stayed in the property for a business trip. I was looking for something convenient to bring my 7 month old baby and my husband to be combining the stay with a short beach vacation. And it turned out that this property was perfect. Large enough for the three of us, very clean and homey. Thank you very much! J.

Attorney Observer at Hague
Good value and location, especially for business travelers with work at or near HCPIL, Hague Tribunal, Peace Palace, and World Forum and leisure days with beach, parks, shopping within easy walking distance. Quiet area and clean property, well-furnished and stocked with books, magazines, brochures and maps and kitchen condiments including full range of spices, vingears, olive oils. Sprial staircase to BR would be a challenge for the elder or infirm. Bath(s) are small but adequate. Wilma is a gem if you need info or assistance. Bike tire was flat and one chair in the LR needed new legs, but owner promised to fix for the next visitor and I would tend to believe her. Two minute walk to Tram to launch trip to anywhere else. Go to Scheveningen for memorable dining at Simonis (for fresh seafood), Kurhaus Sunday Brunch, and Topkapi.

Ideal for exploring The Hague and the Randstad
The Coach House is ideally situated in a quiet residential area with easy access to Scheveningen and The Hague via the No. 1 tram which is only 2 minutes walk from the house. There are local shops less than 10 minutes walk and the centre of the Hague is only a 10 minute tram journey away.  The two train stations in The Hague provide access to all of the Netherlands with Leiden, Amsterdam and Rotterdam less than an hour away and the No. 1 tram gives direct access to Delft.  Public transport in the Netherlands is excellent value for money making travelling around the Netherlands cheap, don't forget to buy your OV Chipkaart as soon as you arrive as this will allow you to travel on the Trains, Buses and Trams across the Netherlands. The Coach House would make an ideal base for holidays and anyone coming to work in The Hague for a short period of time as the house has everything you would need for a longer stay.

Exactly what I was hoping for...
I just completed a week long stay in this sweet coach house in The Hague. I booked it so that I could stay in a home rather than a hotel while working nearby. The coach house came with a bicycle, too, which allowed me to exercise to/from my work. I got quite the attention from my Dutch colleagues as I rode up on the bike. I was told I was staying in The Hague, dutch-style. Of course, should it rain or should you prefer not to ride a bike around, there is a tram literally 2 minutes from the front door. The tram takes you all the way to the train station, which was perfect when I needed to get to Amsterdam intl airport to return home. Wilma, who looks after the house, met me right away and showed me through the house. Shortly before leaving, she told me that should I require immediate assistance with something urgent, to please not hesitate to reach out to her. Just knowing that I had that kind of support in case of emergency meant a LOT to me. Wilma is amazing. As for the home, it was exactly what I was hoping for...a comfortable living space, private, with all the amenities one needs. An extra perk was the balcony where I could enjoy a glass of wine as the sun was setting - the colors in the sky were gorgeous. A grocery store and a number of cafes/restaurants are within 10 minutes walk from the house. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking gear for people who like to cook - except for an oven, so be prepared! The heater worked very well, too, which was what I needed on the days it rained. Wonderful stay. I highly recommend this jewel for anyone wanting a quiet, private, home-like atmosphere during their holiday or work abroad. Oh, and Louise was excellent in getting back to me right away whenever I emailed requesting information, etc.

Perfect, intimate, a lovely setting
Staying in the Coach House has been a wonderful experience for my husband and me. The owner was very helpful, very honest and all our expectations were met. We had an opportunity to do whatever we wanted .. or nothing at all.. and it was all enjoyable!

Great base for touring Holand/Cosy hide away
My wife and I spent a great week here late September (very cold),the house was warm and cosy the lounge was very comfortable as was the bed/bed room,in spit of the cold weather we where able to sit out on the roof terrace on a couple of times, which was nice. There are shops and take-aways just around the corner.Public transport in Holland are FANTASTIC! we only used the car once all the other times we used the tram at the end of the road which goes all the way from the beach through The Hague to Delph, you can get the trains from The Hague to anywhere in Holland. The hague is a great small town with so much to see and many, many great places to geat super food, would I stay there again? yes.

Great location, excellent choice
We stayed in this cottage for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed its convenient location, both to the beach at Scheveningen as well as the shops on the Frederik Hendriklaan. As it is situated in a lane, the location is quiet and peaceful. Inside, everything was provided to make our stay comfortable. The small kitchen has everything needed to prepare the same meals one would enjoy at home, and there is a good washing machine in the bathroom. A spiral staircase leads to the bedroom and terrace, so this property is probably not a good idea for anybody with significant mobility issues. There is a bus stop almost directly outside the door and the tram stops at the next intersection, making it convenient to get around, even though we ended up walking almost everywhere we went. There are several bike rental businesses in the neighbourhood. We rented ours at the store opposite the big church at the end of the road leading to the beach (Keizerstraat), where the service was good and the selection decent. If you pick up your bike just before closing time at 6pm, you can enjoy a 24 hour rental for €9 per bike. The owner of the house, who used to live there herself, is friendly and helpful, and she promptly replied to my emails. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to others.

I lived in this family-owned house myself while I was pursuing my graduate studies at Leiden university in Leiden (30 minutes from the house by train or car). I wrote my dissertation in the unique and inspiring atmosphere of this home. I loved to go run on the beach or in the woods, both a few minutes away from my doorstep. Or bike to any place in the Hague..
I hope you will enjoy it too! In the picture: me and my daughter in front of the house on a visit!

Why they chose this property

Lovely Scheveningen beach is a 5 minute walk away. Grab your towel and go for a stroll or a dip in the sea (in the summer!), come home and enjoy the evening sun on the sun-filled terrace in this quiet neighborhood. Go running on the trails that run in the forest near the house, walk to the cozy Frederik Hendriklaan to go shopping, visit the famous Paagman bookstore, coffee shops, etc. Take a tram that stops right by the house and enjoy the short ride downtown to enjoy all that beautiful and historic The Hague has to offer, museums, shopping, theatre, music, dance, entertainment! A great place to be!

What makes this property unique

You will find total privacy in this house, private entrance, comfortable furnishing, a stylish spiral staircase takes you to a separate bedroom on the 2nd floor, where doors also open to the sunny terrace.
