IMPORTANT NOTES BELOW DETAILS REGARDING PETS AND ADDITIONAL BOOKING REQUIREMENTS.
"A Stone Story" represents the love and appreciation of the mountains by an owner who had previously been a SC coastal dweller for many years. One by one, he carried river rock from the Cane River below to the front doorstep of the home we now fondly call "A Stone Story"...HIS stone story. Thousands of river rocks enhance the already great features of this lovely cabin throughout, including the garden edge lining the driveway, the wall between the upper and lower parking pads, the beautiful rock arched entry into the formal dining room and, of course, around the fireplace and its hearth.
"A Stone Story" was designed as a place where friends and family could gather, for weekends or for weeks. Three living levels, each with its own unique draw. Each level has its own bedroom/bathroom offering guests a space for privacy and solitude. The primary main level bedroom also has an additional room within it perfect for use as a remote office, reading room or nursery for a young napping child. The garage level bedroom has twin beds and a tub/shower combo bathroom which ties in nicely with the game room setup of the "garage" (not ever used for cars). The large open main level living level blends the living room and kitchen together as one large room, then a step through the stone archway into the dining room with fireplace invites all to dine together around the large table.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need to eat in every night of your stay, including a propane grill just steps away. We’ve done our best to make packing for a stay at "A Stone Story" a breeze as well. Pack a suitcase with your personal belongings and a grocery list for a quick stop as you roll into Burnsville. You won’t need much else as "A Stone Story" is kept stocked with dish cleaning supplies (including a brand-new kitchen sponge for each new guest stay), laundry soap, and coffee filters for the auto drip coffee maker. There is also a Keurig coffee machine for those interested but must supply own pods. Each new guest stay is also provided a hotel size bath soap in each of the 3 bathrooms to start off the stay as well as a roll of paper towels and a couple of rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom. Guests must supply their own replenishments of paper products, but what is supplied should suffice for a stay of up to 5 to 7 nights (depending on number of guests staying).
Located in small Riverwalk community, where hiking, fishing & river play are just a short walk away. Just 10 min to groceries, shopping, restaurants & 45 min to downtown Asheville.
