The Hummingbird Retreat is the ideal getaway for family and friends, the outdoor enthusiast, or just a convenient base camp for local and neighboring tourist attractions. Located in the center of the 2,800-acre Point Beach State Forest, you’ll enjoy miles of biking and hiking trails. This affordable three bedroom sanctuary is designed for rest and relaxation and is a wonderful venue for communing with nature.

With a compact foot print of 1,200 sq. feet, the Hummingbird Retreat has a spacious, contemporary kitchen, a large full bath and laundry, and a comfortable, intimate living room. The large master suite features a queen size bed, and an additional twin bed, while the two guest bedrooms have full size beds. A twin roll away is also available as well.

Whether you’re enjoying a brat fry or fresh-caught whitefish from the Susie Q fish Market in Two Rivers, our private patio is perfect for grilling and entertaining. The screened-in Lanai is a great gathering place for dining, playing games, or a restful place for napping.

We are just 45 minutes south from Green Bay's Lambeau Field, 45 minutes north of Whistling Straits golf course in Kohler, and the same for fun-filled Door County. The Hummingbird Retreat is an ideal overnight launching spot for Packer Games, or a day trip to some of Door County’s fine shopping, restaurants and many wineries.

The nearby Point Beach State Forest shoreline has one of Lake Michigan's last, uninhabited sand beaches, and the Hummingbird Retreat and is just a one mile hike to the lake’s historic Rawleys Point Lighthouse. If you're a hiker or bicyclist, the Rawleys Point Bicycle Trail almost begins at our door step and connects with the Mariners Trail--opening over 14 miles of beautiful forest and pristine Lake Michigan scenery.

Amenities include central air; bedding and linens; washer and dryer; and plenty of parking for vehicles/RV/ boats/trailers. (Just bring beach towels and beach blankets.)

For at-home entertainment, enjoy wireless internet, cable TV, DVD players and stereo system. The open and airy kitchen includes cookware, dishes and all modern appliances.

Outdoors enjoy the; large fire pit; both gas and charcoal grills; spacious private patio/deck and screened in lanai; beautiful flowering gardens and trees; patio furniture and picnic table; and everything you need to play volleyball, horse shoes and other yard games.

Magical Relaxation at Hummingbird Retreat!

The Hummingbird Retreat was everything it promised and more! The moment we stepped onto the property all of our cares melted away. We fully enjoyed every moment of chilling in the beautiful kitchen/dining/living area. And topped off every evening in the sauna and hot tub. We are planning our next vacation to the Hummingbird Retreat now. We cannot wait to return.

Great space

We loved our time at the Hummingbird Retreat. It was great to be able to come back from our day's adventures and relax in the amazing backyard. We loved being able to relax in the hottub and sauna. The kitchen had all the things we needed.

Girls’ Weekend

Fantastic Getaway Near Door County

This rental was a wonderful place for a retreat with family. We enjoyed everything including the interior and the beautiful backyard, not to mention a screened separate building that allowed us to enjoy eating, playing games, and even doing crafts with our grandchildren. Kevin, the owner, is a very gracious host. He took care of our needs and he provided an oasis type of backyard for relaxation. The home and yard are exactly as seen in the photos. And…as past VRBO renters…this was the first home we had rented that was incredibly stocked with coffee bar coffees, kitchen items, and other necessities for the bathroom. We highly recommend this VRBO rental!

You should stay here! Absolutely incredible home!

This house is one of the most amazing places I have stayed in since I started using VRBO. It is very clear that an artist designed, built/renovated, and decorated this home. My parents normally stay at a hotel when they make their annual trek to Wisconsin but I convinced them to try renting a house this year. When my Dad walked in, his jaw dropped. He kept walking around, saying, “This house is incredible” over and over again. The kitchen is more than well equipped and a joy to cook in. The living space has comfortable places to settle in for TV watching, reading, or chatting. The master bedroom is incredibly spacious which gave my parents plenty of space to spread out (they do not travel light). My son and I were tucked into the smallest bedroom. It was a little cramped but that is to be expected when you are sleeping in a full size bed with your 11 year old son. 😂 Again, it is the design and decor of this home that make it such a joy to stay in. The deck space has a calming water fountain, comfortable chaise lounges, and a great grill. The outdoor, screened in porch (I feel like porch is not the right word because this space is big) was the perfect place to enjoy pre-dinner appetizers, play games, or nap in the hammock. There is also a fire pit with kindling and wood provided. We enjoyed making s’mores and singing along with my dad and his ukulele. The outdoor shows was one of my favorite touches. Showering a night while looking up at the pines and stars was magic. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful and live right next door should you ever need anything. The house is perfectly located near Point Beach State Forest and is also close to town. I could not recommend this property more!

Great trip!

The pictures don't do this property justice. The house is absolutely beautiful and the decorations are so unique. My kids loved the outside shower. It was so relaxing to sit outside and just bird watch. The location is ideal, my husband took daily hikes on the trails in the woods. We enjoyed the beach every day. Kevin and Karen gave us great recommendations for dinner and ice-cream and multiple locations to beach entrances. They are so personable and were very welcoming. We hope to visit again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Gorgeous getaway

Do yourself a favor and stay here! The property has two main buildings - the owner's house on the left and this guesthouse on the right. Behind the guesthouse is a hot tub and 3 season building with an enormous table perfect for board games and two hammocks. The property is well landscaped with flowers, trees and fountains. Bird feeders throughout ensure good birdwatching while you're here. Access to the beach and the state park are across the road. It is approximately a 10 minute walk on a crushed gravel road to get to the soft white sand beach which is very isolated. We really enjoyed our stay here and plan to come back. The rental house is very clean and cute, with a stocked kitchen. There is a firepit out back and the owner was very generous with firewood. The hot tub jets were not working when we were there, but it was still hot and nice to relax in given it was pretty chilly during our stay. The owner did say he was waiting on parts to get this fixed, so I expect it to be in working order soon.

Last hurrah of summer trip

We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hummingbird Retreat & Chickadee cottage. The cottage was thoughtfully decorated with many artistic touches, was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The natural setting was idyllic. There was abundant wildlife. We loved being so close to Point Beach State Forest and to Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers. Wished we could have stayed longer, but hope to make a return trip.

Relaxing stay

This home is very well maintained and comfortable. We really enjoyed all of the art pieces and the birds feeding on the feeders. Great location near beach and restaurants and not too far for a day trip to Sturgeon Bay!

Girls Family Getaway

This was the perfect location for a relaxing girls family getaway! Kevo was welcoming & very helpful. As soon as we walked into the Hummingbird Retreat we felt right at home. The outside patio was perfect for visiting & yoga! We enjoyed our dinners every night in the screened porch & talked about our trips the Neshota beach, which is just a few short miles away. We highly recommend Making a stop @ Screamin’ Conuts for ice cream! We can’t wait to come back!
