Woolybugger Barn is a very unique fun hideout at the base of the Madison Mountain Range. The barn is centrally located near great fishing and hiking, and only 35 miles from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. There are many hiking trails within a few miles of the barn, as well as the famous Quake Lake. Great for families or fishermen alike, enjoy a little downtime with your crew playing foosball or a pickup game of poker at the poker table!

We had a great time at the barn. The garage had so many activities to keep the kids and adults entertained. They really thought of everything including having flash lights and bear spray to use during your stay. It felt more like a fully stocked house than a bare bones rental typically is. We also got to see plenty of wild animals during our stay. We had a great time and plan to make it an annual trip!

We were pleasantly surprised to find that the pictures were exactly like what was available once we got there. You will definitely not want to try to navigate there at night, as it is a bit confusing getting there, but it did not disappoint! The outside looks like a barn, but it is far from that - more like a cabin on the inside. Everything looked to be new - the wood even smelled new still. Wifi was available, as well as shows we could stream. This place was stocked with everything - cutlery, paper towels, paper plates, dishes, pans, flashlights, bear mace, even a Keurig! They also had games - board games, cornhole, foosball, a poker table, binoculars to watch the wildlife - which we saw plenty of! Just looking outside, we saw moose, elk, antelope and a coyote. The views are truly spectacular and there was plenty of space to hike and capture the scenery. It is only about a 35-minute drive from Yellowstone - and we went there two days in a row. There was plenty to do at the cabin, and that is saying a lot with a teenager and a 22-year-old staying with me. I also had my parents there and everyone loved it! If you are looking for a place off the beaten path, with fantastic scenery, this is the one! We will be back - only this time, I think we will fly instead of drive. :)
We had a rough time making it to the Wooly Bugger Barn, we had truck problems & had to buy another truck just to make it in, therefore instead of arriving in daylight like we had planned, we arrived at 11 pm. I did communicate this with the property manager mid-day. By the time we arrived, it was pitch black & the gps told us we had arrived miles away from the actual property. It was late but I called & messaged the property manager in hopes that I could get better directions as we couldn't see where the property was. We drove around for 30 minutes looking for the barn. By 11:30 pm we were so exhausted & frustrated that we just called around and found a hotel in West Yellowstone for the night. I do feel better directions would have been helpful with arriving unexpectedly at night & having no clue where to go with the gps dropping us at the wrong spot. However, the property manager did respond the next morning & offer to deduct the price of the hotel from the stay, so that was fantastic! The property is absolutely gorgeous, sunsets were spectacular & the barn had absolutely everything needed for entertaining! Now that we know where it is, we would definitely go back but I do recommend better directions for anyone arriving at night.
