The Dam house is a short 9 minute drive to Douglas Dam and the beauty of Douglas Lake.
Killer Location!!!
This property is 8 minutes off of the interstate and 4 minutes off of Highway 66. It sits on a main road and is super easy to get to. There is room for parking a trailer, boat, or camper. The Dam house is a super cozy 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath with a sofa sleeper in the living room. There are 3 TVs and a fully stocked kitchen. The back of the house is peaceful with a swing for relaxing after an exciting day!! There are nice rocking chairs on the front porch and a covered side porch with seating as well.
Pigeon Forge is 14.6 miles from the Dam House. The location is great because you can get into Pigeon Forge, but can escape the tourist traffic when you are at the house. The interstate is 8 minutes away. Downtown Knoxville is 25 minutes away. There is so much to do in Downtown Knoxville!!
Historic Downtown Dandridge is 14 minutes away!! Dandridge is the second oldest town in Tennessee!! There is quaint shopping to do downtown. Martha's Market in Dandridge is great and has a very nice coffee shop. There is also a very nice marina called The Point just across the bridge in Dandridge.
There is not another house directly beside this house so you do not have to share space with neighbors . We allow one small dog with a $100 pet fee at time of booking. There are custom blinds and blackout curtains throughout the house for a restful night sleep and perfect for sleeping the day for the night fishermen. Message me for a video walkthrough!!

Everything was nice and cozy. The road is a little busy but there were box fans provided that easily buffered the noise. Scenery was beautiful and it was conveniently close to a ton of fun things!
This was a great little place for my family for the weekend. Super close to the interstate and anything you would need. Everything was clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay again.
Brenda was a kind host. Location is close to a beautiful lake. The house was cozy and conveinant to everything. The road out front was a little loud but still our stay was nice.

Brenda's place was perfect for our stay. We were in town for a UT game and to visit Gatlinburg. It was the perfect space and number of bathrooms for our family of four, including two teenagers. Brenda was responsive and a great host. Some have commented about the busy road and it's true--the house sits feet from it. The road is noisy, but we didn't find it to be a problem. Bucees, groceries and restaurants are just down the road. Great stay!
House was clean close to a lot of things but also not around anything. Only thing I can think of that was bad is the screen door wouldn’t stay shut. That’s minor it was a great little house. Would definitely stay again.
The home was very nice and clean, all as described, reasonable rates. We weren't able to get sports on the TV, though; but, it wasn't a huge deal. Would definitely consider staying again, if traveling near.
The house was super comfortable. The location is super convenient! It is just a few minutes off the interstate on the way to Pigeon Forge. We also took some time to enjoy Downtown Dandridge and see Douglas Lake. The kitchen had all the things we needed to cook a meal. The beds were super comfortable!!
Great little property. Well kept. Check-in was a bit bumpy as I had no cell service upon arrival and could not access email for door code. Host was quick to respond and got us into the home in no time.
Wifi service, once we found the code, was good.
Great host in prompt response and stocking coffee (yes!) which we enjoyed for breakfast. Cute, clean, and affordable accommodations. Would stay again for business.
We spent 4 nights at the Dam House and truly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well stocked. The house is small but very cozy and met our needs nicely. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch and rocking in the rocking chairs as well as sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the side porch. The beds were quite soft but I found them very comfortable and awakened each morning feeling well rested. The house sits close to the road and there was more traffic on the road than expected but it did not interfere with our sleep or activities. If you are a very light sleeper this could be a an issue but we did not find it to be problematic. I would certainly return to the Dam House in the future.

The Dam house has been beautifully remodeled and is extremely clean. It was very easy to find even during a torrential downpour. We didn’t need for anything. I loved that it was away from the hustle and bustle but within a 10min drive to shopping and restaurants. When we arrived there was bottled water in the fridge, coffee and creamer, hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper, which I loved because we didn’t have to immediately rush back out in the heavy rain after our long drive just for those necessities. There even have fans in the closet, for people like me who can’t sleep without the white noise sound or the circulating air, and the beds were very comfy. There was an also a charcoal grill on the side porch along with a full bag of charcoal and lighter fluid! Brenda was a terrific host and made sure we had her contact info before our arrival and was always very quick to respond to my messages. I highly recommend this house if you’re staying in this area. We will most definitely stay here again.

First of all this house is not close to anywhere. It is safe and adequate for overnight stay but that’s about it. It is obvious that the house was bought and seriously remodeled. Like most investment remodeling, it was done to the minimum standard. Problem number one, it is mere feet from a busy road that the photos don’t dare show. Car noise is somewhat manageable from the back bedroom but the front bedroom requires hearing protection due to the motorcycle traffic. Wife swears these are full size beds not queen. The managers have a policy of emailing you 30 minutes prior to the 4pm check in time. The email goes through the VRBO system and did not arrive in time. And then prior to departure you get an email with what appears to be a list of ‘requirements’’ , laundry, trash, tv remote, etc. not worth the money in my opinion.

This property was clean and the host was very responsive and helpful. The house was very close to shopping and the interstate. It was right around the corner from the new Buc-ee's. Just a few things to note...Make sure you get the codes to enter the house BEFORE you get there. The cell service is spotty and it took a bit to login to get the codes from the website. The house is very old and the walls are thin. There is a very busy highway right outside the door. Take headphones to sleep with. Even though the back yard is fabulous and large, you can't let your pet run because the highway in front of the house is so busy. The lock on the front door is wishy washy. Make sure you check the door when you leave to ensure it's locked. Overall, I don't think we would stay at this property again, but I would stay with this host again.

About the host

I am a local in Sevier Co. I enjoy all things related to the Smoky Mountains, especially hiking!! My husband and 2 children enjoy hiking too!! I have been a teacher at the local elementary school for over 20 years!!! I now manage several short term vacation rentals in the Seymour area. I take great pride in providing nice places for people to stay and enjoy!
Why they chose this property
I want to make Sevier Co. affordable and accessible to everyone that wants to come and visit!! My grandparents are from the Douglas Lake area in Dandridge. I have passed by this house many times on my way to their house. I've always thought it would be perfect for visitors to the area. So I bought it and created a short term rental for guests to enjoy!!! The Dam house is on the way to Douglas Lake!! This is the perfect house to stay in for fishing tournaments!!This property is soooo conveniently located! You can get to any tourist definition in a short time. Downtown Knoxville is a mere 25 minutes away! This property is in between Knoxville and Pigeon Forge!! You can't beat the location!!
This is a doggie friendly home!!
What makes this property unique
The Dam house is on the way to Douglas Dam and Douglas lake. It is also on the way to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood. The unique benefit of this house is affordability and it's near the interstate!! The interstate is 8 minutes away from this house!!! This is a unique benefit as you can get away from the traffic in Pigeon Forge in order to rest up in the evenings!
There are not any curvy roads to get to this property. There is a pull through drive way for people pulling boat and camper trailers.
The house is super cute and comfy with rocking chairs on the front porch, seating on the side porch, and swing in the back yard for relaxing outdoors.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal in if you want to do that.
The beds are super comfortable. There is also a pull out couch for sleeping. There is a TV in both bedrooms and the living room.
