PRINCIPE TWIN SANTA ANA (Calle del Principe 4, Madrid) is placed on a 4th floor with LIFT in a classic building on same square as FOUR SEASONS HOTEL on the zone of Spanish Parliament, 5 minutes walking to Puerta del Sol and underground, in the centre of the Paseo del Arte, the 'PRINCIPE TWIN SANTA ANA' opens out onto the most exuberant city, contemporary theatre and art you can enjoy in the museums near the apartment: the Museo del Prado, the Museo Reina Sofía and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Located on the well known Santa Ana Square, this is the perfect place for those who are willing to stay in the middle of Madrid´s historic and tourist centre. Although the apartment is surrounded by the most centric Metro stations, getting on the metro can be avoided. Within only a few minutes walk you can reach the main Museums (Reina Sofía, Prado, Thyssen), the most visited and emblematic tourist sites such as the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real or the Gran Vía –something like Madrid´s Broadway where you can find lots of theatres and cinemas- and neighbourhoods such as La Latina, famous for their cultural and night life and for the most important outdoor flea market El Rastro.

“PRINCIPE TWIN SANTA ANA” has 5 people capacity on a 4th floor without lift. The gorgeous flat (60 square meters) is very bright where every room has a window. The apartment “PRINCIPE TWIN SANTA ANA” is decorated in elegant colours to make the atmosphere more enjoyable. This apartment is exceptionally restful and functional with free wifi internet and air conditioning. The entrance hall leads into a living /dining area with one balcony facing out the street. It is furnished with one 3-seater sofa, a wooden coffee table, a shelving with LCD TV, DVD and a wooden dining table. There are two bedrooms: 1 double (queen-sized bed 1.60m x 1.90m) and 1 single (2 single bunk beds 0.90m x 1.90m). The living room has a sofa-bed up for 1 people. There is a bathroom with walk-in shower. The kitchen modern and functional is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, 2-ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine and a breakfast bar with two stools. As small household-electric we can emphasize vacuum cleaner, iron, cooker, water boiler, coffee machine, toaster, teapot, glasswork and set of dishes.

HOW TO ARRIVE TO THE “PRINCIPE TWIN SANTA ANA” APARTMENT

1.- FROM THE AIRPORT

TAXI: Cost 30 euros FLAT RATE depending on traffic. 20-40 minute journey

UNDERGROUND: Cost 5 euros per person. Take the line to COLOMBIA, then short connection to line 9 to ARGANDA DEL REY, get off at PRINCIPE DE VERGARA, then take line number 2 to CUATRO CAMINOS. Get out at SEVILLA, and then follow straight on Sevilla Street until you arrive to Canalejas plaza. Then follow straight on and you will find del PRINCIPE street. 40 minute journey.

2. - FROM TRAIN STATION

PUERTA DE ATOCHA TRAIN STATION: Take line number 1 direction Pinar de Chamartín. Get off on SOL, then change to line 2. Get out on SEVILLA stop, and then follow straight on Sevilla Street until you arrive to Canalejas plaza. Then follow straight on and you will find del PRINCIPE street. 10 minute journey.

CHAMARTIN TRAIN STATION: Take line number 1 direction Valdecarros. Get off at SOL, then change to line 2. Get off on SEVILLA stop, and then follow straight on Sevilla Street until you arrive to Canalejas plaza. Then follow straight on and you will find del PRINCIPE street. 20 minute journey.

We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment, its location, and all of the amenities. We loved how easy it was to get around. The rolladens shut out the noise from the street when we were ready to sleep. While we were in the apartment we opened the balcony doors to enjoy the fresh air. We also appreciated that José arranged transportation to and from the airport. We are very pleased with our stay and will stay here when we come back to Madrid!

My wife snd I were extremely pleased with the accommodations and especially the location it was perfect! Communicate with the property management was excellent. They were also very helpful on what to see and giving us recommendations on where to eat. If life ever takes us back to Madrid we'll definitely stay here again

Wonderful Madrid Stay

Exactly as listed. Wonderful location within walking distance to Palace, museums, restaurants, bars, shops.. exactly what I hoped for. Nice little balcony to watch the action below. AC worked great and nice to have washer/dryer unit. Good water pressure in shower. Kitchen well equipped. Dish washer good. Just me, but can accommodate four people no problem. Would recommend and would stay there again. Thank you.

Beautifully renovated apartment. Crucial features not east to find in Madrid: LIFT! WASHER/DRYER Best location. Easy walk east to museums and west to Royal Palace. Best restaurant we found was 3 doors south: Finca de Susanna.

Great Location

The apt was clean and very comfortable. Jose was a fantastic host. He and the property owner were quick to respond when necessary. Check In/Out was very easy! The location can’t be beat. Very close and convenient to what you need and the restaurants were great! A bit of construction was going on, some building areas were a bit dusty…understandably. I would stay here again!

In the middle of the action

Central location, comfortable queen bed, adequate storage, many dining choices, (don’t put up with rude waiters, walk out instead). Try Susanna’s (sp?) just down street, excellent. Use ear plugs at night as boisterous bars nearby let out late. The couple that let you in the first time were very helpful!

Perfect Apartment!

We had the most amazing time! The apartment was perfect! The location was fantastic, right in the middle of the city. Lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. The property manager was very sweet and friendly. She told us all the best museums and sites to visit. We completely fell in love with Madrid! The apartment was the perfect size for me and my friend. I hope to be able to come back again soon! I’m very happy with our choice to stay here. We felt very safe, and truly enjoyed our visit. I highly recommend staying at this great location. Amazing location

The apartment is in the city center and was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children). The washing machine was very helpful. the front rooms (living room and main bedroom) face a street and it was lively/noisy during parts of the night, but I ended up using my phone to play “white noise,” and it ended up blocking out most of the nightly noise. I would recommend this property.

Party location

Everyone I dealt with at this property was lovely and Huertas is charming 16 hours a day. But this location is on a street with a LOT of bars and the party lasts until 5 am on the weekend. If that’s your style or if you can sleep through the noise, you’ll be fine.

This is a great location with easy walking access to old city restaurants, amazing art and good shopping. The apartment was clean, well equipped enough that we cooked full dinners several times. It was very helpful to have Helena and Jose organize airport pick ups for us. Great wifi if you are working.

Fantastic location to see Madrid

The apartment is in a perfect location. Close to everything but still tucked away in a quiet area. Loads of restaurants, bars and shops just steps away. Grocery store just across the street which is very convenient. It is not a huge space but has everything you need and separate spaces for everyone to go. Communication with hosts excellent and we were met and settled in in a great way. Wi-Fi worked well and We were able to access TV streaming channels. One AC worked hard to cool the whole apartment in the summer heat but extra fans in the bedrooms helped out. You really can walk to everything from here. Memorable stay!

Great apartment in prime location

I stayed for about 6 weeks and worked from the apartment as well. The internet was perfect even for multiple video calls, etc. The location is great - less than 5 minute walk to restaurants, bars, grocery store, ATM, pharmacy, metro station. Spacious enough for 1-2 people to live comfortably. Thanks for a great stay!

Terrific location, very convenient

The location of this apartment can't be beat. It is near the Prado, other museums, the Puerto del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and a host of other attractions. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. There was also a small grocery store across the street, a cafe with churros and hot chocolate on the corner, and a range of restaurants on the street, too. The apartment itself was outfitted with everything one needs, from washing machine for clothes to a small kitchen, nice towels, etc. It was slightly smaller than I'd expected, and the 5 flights of stairs were a tough climb with luggage. Also, the main bedroom's bed may be considered large in Spain, but was more of a double/full in U.S. standards. (I realize Americans love big beds!) The mattress was very firm. The apartment has cheerful Ikea style decor. We enjoyed having this as our base. Sol met us promptly at the apartment, and even helped me carry my bag upstairs. She provided invaluable advice about the neighborhood and things to do in Madrid. Very helpful and informative. I recommend the apartment, especially for adults traveling with 1 or 2 children, because there are 2 bedrooms. My only caveat is that the stairs may be inconvenient for those with mobility issues (or if you needed to carry an infant and stroller upstairs). The pluses for this one are: location and great customer service.

Nice unit! Great location right next to the center of the city, Puerta Del Sol!

Very nice modern condo in an older building with character. Full kitchen with dishwasher and washer. Location is excellent!!! Walking distance to the heart of the city. Tons of restaurants and shops. Had a great time in this beautiful city! The only negative is that it is a 4 story walk-up with no elevator. If you pack lightly, then it's no big deal.

Our week in Madrid

We couldn't have wished for a better location or more wonderful hosts than we had in exciting Madrid. Our week was fabulous! The stairs leading to the apartment were a challenge to us as senior citizens but we survived the climb knowing the descent was much easier! We'll definitely return to Madrid next spring and look to Carmen and Sol for our accommodations! We're very grateful for their extraordinary hospitality!

Great location, apartment exactly as pictured.

Fantastic location!! Easy, few minutes walk from Prado and Palace (both recommended). Located in lively area just around the corner from Puerto del Sol, with many tapas bar/cafes. The apartment is small but has 2 BR and is well equipped with plenty of closet so we could unpack our suitcases. This is a 4th floor walk-up, so not for the infirm.

Location, location, location!

This was a perfect location for seeing the sites of Madrid. Close to many great restaurants and museums. Sol did a great job of explaining every detail of the apartment as well as the best sites to see. The only down side is it was quite loud at night due to the close proximity of the bars.

Are the other reviews legitimate?? Highly disappointed and would NOT rent here again

My spouse, daughter and I just left Madrid and this apartment. We have rented all over the world for 20 years and have never had problems like with this apartment. We have a 5 star rating as well as we treat our rentals as we treat our own home. The PROS: Carmen was very responsive and easy to deal with. The location is convenient, in the heart of Madrid, walking distance to everything. It was relatively quiet and the apartment was clean. The CONS: The apartment is a 6 flight walkup, no mention of this in the reviews, which I find shocking. As soon as we entered the building, there was an intense chemical smell, likely wood refinishing as the apartment above was being renovated. The mattresses are horrible and the queen size bed was covered with 2 fitted twin sheets laying across the bed widthwise. Yes, they obviously had no queen size sheet. The mattress actually caves in. (I have pictures). I had to sleep on the sofa, which was dirty, needs restuffing or likely replacement. The hot water in the shower lasted 2 minutes, not kidding, I timed it and I was the first one to use it in the AM. With only 2 using it in the AM, we should have had enough hot water. We didn't use the dishwasher or washing machine either. There was a notice on the table that stated there was enough hot water for 5 showers and anything over that would incur an additional charge. (No mention of this in the listing and I would have not booked anything mentioning this as this is a red flag to me.) How 5 people could shower, I have no idea, unless they enjoy ice cold showers. The towels were scratchy and stained. When I vacation, I want an average comfortable bed, hot water for a short shower and clean towels. Would NOT recommend this place as I feel it was not represented honestly and of poor quality.

What makes this property unique

There are a huge number of things to do in Madrid, but it is often the famous Madrid shopping streets that lure people into renting Madrid accommodation. The fashion boutiques and local craft shops which adorn the central business district mean that shopping holidays in Madrid are never far from the top of the list for shopping destinations. The huge range of styles and cuisine of Madrid restaurants also helps to keep energy levels high, and fantastic cooking courses lasting between a single session and a whole week can easily be arranged. The medieval centre of Madrid hides many fantastic monuments. Those taking a Madrid weekend break are best staying in accommodation close to the historic centre, as there is so much here that you can fit a huge amount into just a short Madrid city break. The ‘big three’ museums in Madrid, the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia, hold famous collections of art, and tourism in Madrid is often centred around the Puerta del Sol right in the city centre.
