On the Willamette River

Plusses: 1. right on the bank of the Willamette R where we saw all manner of shipping and boating activity, 2. very pleasant owner who seemed to want to make our stay as pleasant as possible, 3. great walking along the river (think flat); we could walk 2.5 miles to the south to our favorite coffee shop; 4. condo was nicely laid out; 5. Portland is a nice city. 6. Covered dedicated parking. Minuses: 1. there is a homeless population some of which is located nearby. Never had a problem but it is sad to see, 2. Couch in living room has seen better days. There is railroad traffic across the bridge just to the south of the condo complex. We didn't mind the very slow moving trains but some might. All in all a great place to stay and I would definitely stay again if returning to Portland.

THE Downtown Portland Experience

Perfect location for access to walkable downtown Portland! The view of the river and Steel Bridge from the unit keeps one connected to the heartbeat of the City. The unit was equipped to meet every need - especially in the kitchen. The owners' communications were frequent, helpful, and responsive! Despite some of the turbulence Portland has experienced in the past year, the McCormick Pier residential area was inviting and secure. People were frequently walking the development's trails that connected to the entire Portland waterfront walkway system (both sides of the river). Do not miss the Saturday Market beneath the Burnside Bridge - always a special destination! We relocated recently to Portland from Kansas City and this unit was home to us for two months. We are avid home chefs and enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen that lacked for nothing during our stay. The on-site BBQ grill allowed us to keep up our habit of late-season grilling alive. My wife is also an avid baker and found all the necessary items in the unit's kitchen. While there is a wonderful patio with an inviting sitting area, fall in Portland is the rainy season and kept us from enjoying the outdoor space as much as we would have liked. We were very appreciative of Lisa and Bill who were terrific hosts. From start to finish of our visit, they were in touch and available to answer any questions or resolve any minor issues. Lastly - the proximity of the unit to the Pearl District was priceless! While COVID certainly impacts the restaurant and nightlife scene, the Pearl remains a gem in downtown Portland! Andina and Serratto were particular restaurant standouts. Grocery and wine/liquor stores are in easy walking distance. Our time spent in downtown Portland waiting for a newly constructed home will always have a special place in our hearts!

Great property on the water

The unit was as advertised. It had everything we needed for a comfortable month's stay. We like to eat in for most meals and the unit had what we needed to cook including a variety of spices. We loved watching the water traffic from the patio. There is a nice walkway steps away. It is a 5 - 6 minute walk to get to public transportation and a 15 minute walk to Safeway, the closest grocery store and less to Lovejoy Bakery. And Uber was very quick to respond whenever we called. But if you prefer to walk, Portland is very walkable. We found Lisa to be a very responsive owner. We are a senior couple and the condo definitely worked for us. We recommend it.

Great Location, Beautiful View, and Fantastic Management

We stayed in Lisa's rental for just over a month while moving to Portland. She was extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive. The location on the water is beautiful, and is an easy walk to a bunch of great restaurants in the Pearl. I would absolutely stay here again!

Good location

We enjoyed being able to access the waterfront esplanade right out of our door or patio, and had easy access to downtown. The Pearl District was also a short walk away, with access to a great fitness center, restaurants, microbreweries, and shops. The owner was very responsive to requests or minor problems during our stay.

A happy experience

I enjoyed my stay in this apartment. I especially liked the view over the river from the front room & from the terrace. I spent a good deal of time on the terrace, enjoying meals & watching the boats on the river. (Friends who came to visit enjoyed the view, too!) Another attractive feature of the condo is that it is very conveniently located for those who like walking or jogging on the path along the waterfront (just steps away), & anyone who is reasonably fit can easily walk to downtown Portland. I found the apartment generally comfortable & conveniently outfitted, furnishing everything that one could reasonably expect - & more. The kitchen was well-appointed (which was important to me, as I had guests over for some meals), & there were ample supplies of all sorts - cleaning supplies, bathroom items, dishes, a variety of spices, even scotch tape. The bed was comfortable, too. Lisa, the owner, was wonderfully kind & patient & helpful at every stage. I am not young & this greatly contributed to my enjoying my stay.

Great location and amazing condo!

I stayed in Portland for a month and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The condo is situated right on the water and a short walk along the riverfront to the Saturday markets. It is also a short walk over to Union Station and you're right in the Pearl District, where there are tons of great shops, restaurants, and breweries. The fire pit was a nice ammenity, which I used on a couple occasions. Everything is within walking distance from this condo and it is well stocked too. There is a corner market for any additional items you may need. I like running and it was really nice to walk out the front door and the riverfront path is right there! This place can't be beat.

A Wonderful Portland Trip

My group of 3 had a great time at Lisa's condo in Portland. We were provided a queen air mattress at our request, and this will now be available for future guests (it's self-inflating and very comfortable!). The location is beautiful as it sits right by the river. We spent almost every late evening outside by the fire pit with a few beers. The location is great for walking almost anywhere in Northern Portland. We needed a car for a ski trip, so the free covered parking spot was very appreciated and very close to the condo. A couple of my local friends stopped by for a few drinks, and they were very impressed with the digs. I highly recommend staying here! Our hosts were very accessible via email, and all instructions were very minimal and straightforward.

Perfect for the Pearl

This was our first trip to Portland, and the condo location worked perfectly for us. We enjoyed using public transportation and had ready access for all the sights we had planned...and a few we hadn't. The water with tugs, barges and pleasure boats made for great viewing. Lisa and Bill were very helpful when we had a few questions. Between perfect weather, location and lots to do it was a memorable trip!

Beautiful & Cozy Condo!

This beautiful condo is just as pictured & it was very clean. The bed is very comfortable to sleep on. We had a few relatives come by for dinner on our last nite here (we stayed 3 nites) & they all raved about the view & location right on the river. We walked to the Saturday Market (very nearby) as well as around the Pearl District & downtown. It was our first trip to Portland & we would definitely come again & stay here! Highly recommend. Thank you!

Wonderful Waterfront Location

We really enjoyed our stay in your very well appointed apartment. We had everything we needed and more. It was fabulous to look out at the river and see people and boats and great fun to hear the trains on the Steel Bridge. A walk down the river pathway took us to the Saturday & Sunday market - a great place with many talented local artists. Walking 'inland' over the walkway and past the bus station took us into the Pearl District and Downtown. We did a food cart tour one day with Eat Adventures and that was great - not only giving us the opportunity to sample some great food but also a way to see different parts of the city. Since this was a road trip for us, it was so nice to have a parking spot and even better was the very easy access in and out of Portland. Thanks Lisa and Bill!!

Close to the river. Great views. Pristine.

Great views from the terrace, or at night from floor to ceiling windows. Steps down to a greenway which you can take either north to the Pearl or south towards downtown. Very clean and well equipped. The owners are great to deal with. I was lucky enough to have fantastic weather and walked all over the city. Quiet at night. A small supermarket a 3 minute walk away had all essentials. As a woman traveling alone I felt safe, plenty of people running and cycling along the greenway all day long. After dark I took taxis. Fell completely in love with Portland, what a great city. Don't miss; Nines for happy hour with a view, Chinese garden, Portland Art Museum.

On the water!

This condo was the perfect getaway and chance to see and experience the real Portland, not just the touristy perspective that a hotel would offer. My favorite part of the weekend was heading out the back door right onto the river side running trail that we took down past Waterfront Park. The Max and Portland Streetcar stops were fairly close, allowing us to use public transportation for part of the weekend to explore the city. Overall neat location and great stay! Thank you!

Great location!

Your condo location was perfect and the view can not be beat. We enjoyed the boat and train traffic, walking to the Pearl and along the waterfront, the Saturday market and hiking in Forest Park. A nice hike is from Lower Macleay Park up to the Pittock Mansion.

Perfect Location

Portland in January? Couldn't have had a better week. This Condo was perfect. It is just as it appears in the photos. The location on the river was heavenly, we walked and walked. Enjoyed all of the wonderful Pearl District eateries. We also enjoyed being able to cozy up and eat in occasionally. Highly recommended.

Great location. Everything you need.

Excellent location: within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping, Saturday market, bakeries, and the transportation is easily accessible. This was my first visit to Portland, and we had a great time. I would definitely chose this spot again. Perfect size for 2 couples. Hosts: these are some nice people! Very flexible and accommodating with my travel arrangements. Good communication throughout the process, making it very easy. The process was seamless. Very thoughtful setup with all the amenities one would need in the kitchen and bathroom. I liked that they have an honor system that allows you to help yourself to items you may have forgotten, and then leave a few dollars to replace items. Thoughtful. They also had maps, restaurant menus, and other helpful information neatly organized in a binder.

Great location

This condo is a perfect spot to enjoy Portland - close to downtown and right on the Willamette River. We enjoyed sitting outside watching the river and bridge traffic. The pictures are quite accurate as to the attractiveness and cleanliness of the condo. However, the owner was non-existent when we stayed there. We sent a few questions by email to which we never got a response. Nor did the owners reach out to us to see if we had any unmet needs. Also, the condo could use some small improvements - like a bathtub mat (the shower was very slippery) - and a decent bread knife. Also, the bedroom had very little furniture - only the bed, but no bureau or chair or wall decorations.

A Fabulous Condo!

We so enjoyed staying at this wonderful condo! It was absolutely perfect. Our days were very busy exploring the city and getting my daughter settled into her dorm, so it was especially nice to relax in the evenings on the patio. What a view! It was also a pleasure to be able to cook and not have to eat out for EVERY meal. We loved, loved, loved Lovejoy Bakery! I think we are all having withdrawals. It’s a good thing we did so much walking. Otherwise, we would all have gained 10 pounds! We would certainly love to stay “with you” again, as we now have two children in Portland.

The View, The Location, The View, The Condo, The View. Everything you Need.

Bill and Lisa, We had a fabulous week in Portland. The location was perfect. The serenity of the patio overlooking the Willamette river was enjoyed nightly. We appreciated the close proximity of downtown Portland. The public transportation is a must, we took the train to and from the airport....probably why we didn't see many taxi cabs. We found the condo to be very clean and stocked with everything we needed. We will recommend the Waterfront Pearl to our friends and family. We really loved reading all the different and interesting places to visit in the Guest Book. We enjoyed many of the shared locations and added a few of our own. Thanks again, Nick and Lori

Home away from home

Bill and Lisa's condo was an excellent choice for our stay in Portland. It was awesome being on the riverfront.. We were so close to the pedestrian bridge that takes you over to union station and into the Pearl District's shops and eateries. However, for us one of the most pleasant surprises was how Bill and Lisa [probably Lisa] accessorized the condo. The Kitchen was not only equipped with coffee maker, crockpot, etc. but also with all the little things that you only need a little of, yet usually have to buy to prepare meals...butter, veg. oil, spices, dish soap, condiments, etc. Same with the bathroom...soap, shampoo, toothpaste [if you forgot it]. It was just so nice to have those little things there, just in case we forgot something. Thanks Bill and Lisa for a wonderful week

A Lovely Spring Break

My wife & I traveled by train from Seattle to Portland for a week without the usual responsibilities - work, parenting, home maintenance. What a joy it was to walk from the train station to this modern condo along the river. It was everything we hoped for and more - clean, comfortable, modern, and located with easy access to public transportation, which is how we got around Portland for the week. The photos and video show exactly the home in which you will be staying. Great place!

We stayed in the waterfront condo in March and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It has such a beautiful setting on the River and is very peaceful. There are several shops and stores nearby within easy walking distance. The unit was very clean and is well maintained. The dedicated parking spot is so nice to have in the city as well. The wi-fi worked well and consistently, too, which was great for us as it was a working holiday! Don't forget to visit Lovejoy Bakery while you are there for great coffee and baked goods! We hope to visit again soon.

Quite a Find in Pearl

I came to visit my son who has relocated to Portland. We enjoyed one great week at the beautiful Waterfront Pearl. The condo was just as the photos showed, and totally equipped for our visit. Lisa & Bill thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. We enjoyed the tranquillity of sitting on the couch and watching all the action on the river. The condo was impeccably clean & the covered parking was an added plus. I will definitely be back.

Great Spot!

My husband and I stayed at Waterfront Pearl over the Thanksgiving holiday and it was the perfect spot for us. It was nice to have parking, to be walking distance from the Rose Garden to watch the Blazers play, and walking distance to a number of other coffee shops and restaurants. We loved being right on the river as well. We would love to come back and stay during the summer sometime! Everything in the apartment was clean, tidy, and cozy. We loved the decor! Overall, we had a really great time here! We were just bummed we didn't get time to try out the hot tub!

Relaxing Waterway Charmer

My mom and I just stayed here for a week, while searching for a downtown apartment for her to relocate. This quiet, conveniently placed unit was just what we were after: great view of the nearby Steel Bridge, soothing atmosphere of solitude in the midst of the city near downtown, and close to so many things including the public transit systems we used the entire time. We walked to the Saturday Market, over Union Station to catch the light rail (MAX), and visited many places - Powell's Books, Deschutes Brewery, Pastini's, Whole Foods, Lovejoy Bakers - all easily reached from the condo. Back at night, we put our feet up and gazed out at the twinkling lights and bridge traffic, lulled by the waves and ambience. The sofa and bed were so comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked with gadgets, dishes, etc., and the whole unit was cozy and had all the essentials plus extras. Enjoyed the heck out of the large-screen TV, and made use of the Wi-Fi every day. Lisa, thanks for helping to make it a great week, and while we didn't need to use any of the many bathroom "extras" so thoughtfully supplied, it was good to know they were there if needed! :) Would definitely return here in the future if visiting this area again.

About us: Bill is an avid snowboarder, brew master of fine Belgium beers, loves the outdoors for backpacking, cycling and 'unrestricted' space and by 'day' he is a Psychologist working with a large Medical Corporation heading up their specialty division. Lisa is a lover of all things re: the home, baking, gardening, and construction/home remodeling. She is a breast cancer survivor, a Pilates and Aerobics instructor and by 'day' (evenings, weekends, 24/7!) is a realtor in Southern California. They live in Southern CA in a tiny cottage, that has a big yard with lots of animals and a vegetable garden where they grow organic foods to share and enjoy. They both went to UCLA which is where they met (on a blind date!) and fell in love and have been married 21 years. They have no children, but love being an uncle and aunt and have many friends with kids whom they adore. They feel blessed everyday and in many ways..

Why they chose this property

We decided to buy at the Pearl when we took a trip to Portland in late 2004 and fell in love with it all..the people, the urban and eclectic mix of restaurants, art and music. We loved the waterfront view of this property in particular as you can walk right outside our unit and down a few steps to the path. There is so much to do and enjoy in Portland, and being that Bill is an avid 'brew master' himself, Portland most certainly is a wonderful place for us to be!

What makes this property unique

Too many to list..walk to everything! restaurants, shops, Saturday Market, First Thursday..walk, bike, run. Visit the local Farmer's Market and be your own chef in the fully equipped kitchen. Or just do nothing at all and watch the river flow just outside your door..it's just spectacular..
