Discover Crandall's Cottage, the charming house on the beach that has been in the owner’s family since 1963. Bring your friends and family and stay in luxury and comfort that sleeps up to 12. There is no better beach access or views on Mustang Island, with just a short walk down your private driveway directly to the beach. Decks on the second and third floors provide amazing, unobstructed views of the beach and ocean.

Cook for your large group or family in the full-size kitchen complete with all your kitchen appliances and essential needs on the granite countertops. Sit at the kitchen bar or at the eight-person dining room table looking out on the beach or enjoy multiple outdoor eating areas on the decks. Large sofas and multiple comfy chairs provide the perfect spot in the living room to relax after a day at the beach. Play games, tell stories, or enjoy streaming on the 65-inch flat-screen HDTV.

The second floor includes two bedrooms with queen-size beds, one with a private balcony. This floor also has a laundry room and a full bathroom. The primary suite on the third floor has a king-size bed, a daybed with a trundle bed, a large private balcony with a sitting area looking out over the beach, and a 65-inch flat-screen HDTV. The primary bathroom has dual vanities, a stand-up shower, a separate jacuzzi bathtub, and a large walk-in closet. The first-floor stairs lead to a bunk room complete with bunk beds for eight guests and another 65-inch flat-screen HDTV. It's playfully decorated to simulate being in the belly of a ship and has views of the surf! It's the perfect spot for kids or teenagers to relax in their own space away from the adults!

The first floor includes a closed garage with many beach chairs, toys, and a two-person kayak. There is a covered patio with a gas grill and another sitting and dining area. Million dollar view

It is definitely pet and kid friendly Shows a little wear and tear but I can’t say enough about the views. We just stared out the windows for hours. I wanted to stay longer.

Gorgeous view!

The home was in a perfect spot! Enjoyed afternoon breezes on patio and morning and evening walks on beach beach combing treasures. The shower and tub could use a good bleach clean and floors need a better sweeping. Spices would be handy. Basics like salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder and sugar would be appreciated.

Delightful seaside home

We all love the sea themed interior décor. It could use some new double doors. We tried to leave it cleaner than we found it. Super fun! Wish we could buy it! Thanks for sharing this home with us!

Nice but need some maintenance

We enjoyed this house being so close to the water/beach. It is a nice house. It just needs a little maintenance done. The place that takes care of the rental was very nice when asked for more washclothes. They were very helpful and responded very quickly. I know this isn't the fault of anyone, but they are building right next to this house, and they were only there the first day. I believe they stopped working because it was the weekend. So that made it better.

Beach front

This place is a mix of amazing location and house and yikes that needs attention.....while the house was clean, the dishwasher was full of foul water and would not drain so we hand washed dishes..... The handrail to main floor deck was loose, gate was hard to open. Exterior electrical panel is scary looking with rust etc. Having said that we enjoyed the time spent there and the location was great for how we wanted to spend our time in Port Aransas. This would definitely be all 5 stars with some minimal maintenance completed.

More good than negative

Great location. Decent beds and furniture. Terrible cookware but good appliances. Railing on second floor balcony broken and pulled away in two areas, safety hazards. Two outside lights hanging by their wires and bumping all night long. Sink in upstairs main bedroom did not drain. Good dehumidifiers which really helped. Outside doors missing door handles and very hard to lock and keep closed. Comfortable furniture and living area. Despite the negatives we would definitely come back knowing all these things can be fixed and in the humidity things don’t last as long. Carpet in need of a good shampoo, pee stains.

I emailed yall with a good detail of what issues happened during a storm from water leaks to bad smells to possibly mold in home sue to water leaks that have been an on going issue along with pics i also had to secure doors in kitchen that where broken and not properly fixed in a long time that had blown open during storm. We spent half our day drying floors and trying to fix doors

Beautiful View

Great beach location and fun to have a golf cart! Not as clean and well maintained as expected. We were disappointed in the housekeeping. One of the beds in the bunk room had not been changed. I notified after-hours service and sent an email, but the bed was never changed during our 5 day stay. Maintenance is lacking - patio doors were very difficult to open and close, grill was very old and dirty, a number of walls need touch-up.

Last Summer Trip

The location of this house was incredible. Being right on the beach was perfect and it's so close to town, super easy. We had teens that really enjoyed the bunk room. The kitchen is updated and well stocked. The secondary bedrooms are nice and beds are comfy but the carpets are very dirty and should be removed. The guest bathroom needs immediate attention. The tub is especially disgusting. It was disappointing to see the condition considering the nightly rate of this home. I was shocked that they would rent it in that condition. There are only 2 bathrooms so we had many of our party that had to share it. The master is nice but the furniture could use some updating as well. The view from the master bedroom is beautiful. Overall we enjoyed the house, the location is great but it needs some attention.

1 Star was the lowest I could go

We stayed @ Crandall's Cottage May 30 - June 5, 2022. We loved the ocean views and close beach access. However the upkeep and maintenance of the house left much to be desired. As previous owners of a rental property, we understand that there are certain standards of accommodations @ this price point that are expected and as such Crandall's Cottage fell well short of that. In addition management should also be responsive to renters, which was not the case. There were 2 major safety issues that we were NOT informed of prior to our arrival. The 1st was the railing on the main deck was completely loose on 1 end. Someone leaned against the railing and almost fell down to the ground. On inspection, the nails were rusted through completely so that the railing was not attached at 1 end. The 2nd issue was a broken window in the master BR with shards of glass on the upper deck as well as shards on the lower deck. The outside light on the upper deck was also broken with exposed wires.I assume it was broken at the same time as the window since all the door stops are at the wrong height to prevent that from happening. When we tried to get repairs done, the management company would not return our calls or kept minimizing our concerns when we did manage to talk to them. Generally the house was made to look nice for the pictures but when it came to living there - the state of neglect or disrepair was blatant. When we 1st arrived - there was trash on the property, the grill wasn't clean and the garage door was badly rusted. We did not get a good 1st impression! Other issues with the property were a ridiculously slow and unreliable WiFi. The French doors were difficult to lock and in need of replacing - frame, handles, etc. In the kitchen, the refrigerator wasn't level and would tilt when opening doors. The ice maker didn't work and was clogged with ice. Maintenance didn't come to fix it despite being asked. We had to buy bags of ice throughout the week we were there. The dishwasher wasn't anchored to the cabinet so that when you went to put the door down to load dishes the whole dishwasher tilted forward. The pots and pans were old and rusted and looked like they had never been cleaned. I went out and bought my own pans! Occupancy for the place was listed as 12. I doubt you could have 12 people eating there as the dishes and glassware was inadequate. Most of the cups/glasses looked like they had been left behind by other renters! Communication with your customers should be 1 of your 1st priorities. Sadly, it appeared that no one was interested in listening to our concerns nor trying to remedy them. Management consistently ignored us - my husband was the one reaching out to management nearly every day. This whole experience has led us to the decision to never use Silver Sands Vacation Rentals or Crandall's Cottage again.

Our family had a great time.. the kitchen was stocked nicely for a large group. While the “provided” golf cart was old, it did get some of us around town and we didn't get the code to unlock it until the next day. My only complaint was that there were only two washcloths and one hand towel available in the downstairs bath… inconvenient at best but overall it was a great stay. One more thing, if you have allergies, the mildew is a little overwhelming.

Great House and Location

Super location right on the beach (behind the dunes). Very comfortable home had good beds, linens and towels. Fairly clean except for vase of dead flowers in the kitchen and master shower could have been cleaner. Landlord needs to do quite a bit of maintenance on this home as there are some hazardous conditions such as loose handrail on exterior stairs to the main floor. Glass in master bedroom door was shattered. Outside was surrounded by natural dead beach plants that had been knocked down but leaving lots of metal junk and garbage in sight.

Awesome beach house

Incredible location on the beach. The beach house is so convenient and relaxing. Great kids room allows them to have their space while adults enjoy the relaxing beach view. Best place to stay on the island.
