Great location, beautiful home

This home was beautiful, and accommodated our large family group wonderfully. There were only a few details that were not as perfect as I'd have liked considering the price we paid. The golf cart that was provided by Silver Sands was pretty unsafe to drive, there was a ton of 'play' in the steering and the cart drifted back and forth pretty wildly. There were multiple dead bugs (for example, up on the ledge above the kitchen, the loft looks right down on it). The sliding shower doors were pretty corroded and hard to open and close properly, and the garage door sensor was also corroded and broken, so the door could not be closed automatically. There was only one dish/hand towel in the kitchen. If you wanted to do laundry, there was no soap provided, and the start knob on the dryer was stripped and couldn't be turned without pliers or something to grip it with. Also, the charcoal grill is required to be cleaned after use, but there were no tools available (wire brush etc) to do so.

Buyer Beware

I never leave comments or reviews for anything. But, in this instance I feel we were mislead on this property. The pictures and description way oversold what you get for your money! Enter the lower level and there are two bedrooms with king size beds, but be careful of the rug thrown on the floor, it is curled on the edges, not attached to the floor and a trip hazard for sure. Thankfully the fall was not severe. You will also find a washer and dryer, but don't be fooled that the dryer works...it does not. The bathroom between the two bedrooms was functional, that is about all that can be said about it. Walk up a flight of stairs (not the easiest thing for an old fat guy) and you will find he main level with two more bedrooms with two bathrooms. The "en suite" bathroom was functional so long as you only wanted to enter the shower through only one of he sliding doors, the other is corroded in place and will not move. And be careful of the ceiling fan in the bedroom, it only works on low speed, otherwise it wobbles and squeaks bad enough it might fall of the ceiling and into bed with you. And the kitchen/den area....There was plenty of seating with the table and bar stools. The other furniture has seen better days. The appliances were functional, how ever to use the dishwasher, you must first lower the oven door so the dishwasher door will open to gain access. Even with that combination, the dishwasher door does not fully open so you can wash your dirty dishes as required by Silver Sands. Overall, Sunny and Chairs did the job, but for the price charged and paid there has to be better choices. I'm not sure if a different rental agency is the answer, but for sure a more well maintained unit. I for one will do better research and ask a lot more questions on our next trip to Port Aransas.

We had a great vacation staying at Sunny & Chairs! A few quirky things to know before renting: The dishwasher door will only open halfway as it hits the oven door, making it difficult to load and unload. The private deck, which is very nice and plenty of room for 10 people is ONLY ACCESSIBLE THRU BEDROOMS, and not thru the living room. The downstairs bathroom shower has had the doors removed and replaced with a shower curtain, and the "lip" on the bottom is high, so stubbing a toe getting out is highly possible.

Enjoyed stay; bring certain things.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny and Chairs tremendously. Working with Silver Sands was easy and efficient. The house had enough room for a group of 11 adults without bumping into each other. Great layout, perfect location, nice decor. The loft area was PERFECT for our adult children to enjoy their time separate from the old folks. A/C worked great. Our dog learned how to navigate stairs! All in all, would definitely rent this house again. This may be my inexperience renting for a large group for an extended period of time, but I definitely would have liked to have known that I needed to bring certain things with me so that I didn't have to purchase items on the island: 1. Toilet paper 2. Trash bags 3. Paper towels Only two things that we were disappointed with: 1. The number of bath towels. For our group of 11 adults, the entire house only had 6 towels. Glad I was able to let several group members know before they heading down to the coast. Work around is that the house does have a washer & dryer and we were able to wash towels but bring your own laundry detergent. 2. 4-seater golf cart. When reservation was made, definitely indicated 10+ guests. The house next door had a party of 9 and was provided with a 6-seater golf cart. If that was an upgrade option, we certainly would have paid for that to be able to enjoy more people exploring at one time. If that was an upgrade option, it was difficult (impossible for me) to locate when making the reservation Thank you for the hospitality.

Great property, had everything we needed. The extra fridge in garage was a huge plus. Lots of room to spread out. We had 9 adults and 3 children and had plenty of space. Loved the private back patio.

Labor Day 21'

Family & all enjoyed the stay. Having the golf cart made it nice to get around. Plenty of parking for family cars. The Community pool was an extra for the grandkids! They loved the bunk beds and could see all of us while playing. Kitchen could have sharper knife and a new coffee maker. The light fixtures above kitchen island counter were wiped down by my son in law bc they were pretty dusty. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were needed a little bit of work especially the MB. The shower door moved and water would get on floor, needs new door. Shower curtain 3rd floor 2nd bath needs new shower curtain. My son in law said it was dirty. Other than this we all loved and will be back!🥍😀😀😀

Not satisfactory

I was not happy with the customer service we received from the office or the contractor who came out to fix a plumbing issue that left us down to 1 bathroom for several days with a house full of guests! There lack of communication between office and contractors and myself was horrible! I spoke with management and was offered a 10% discount for my next stay within a year . I felt this was not even close to compensation for the lack of professionalism and customer service we received. If nothing else can be done I would definitely look at staying with some other properties first

Amazing

We absolutely loved the house! So much room and space for the entire family! Washer and dryer helped so much keeping clothes and beach towels clean 👍🏼. The house was beautiful and the golf cart was a plus!! Would definitely stay at this house again when we come back to Port Aransas!! The only one thing I would have liked was if we had extra cleaning essentials like dishwasher pods, more trash bags and more toilet paper. Other then that the perfect house.

Nightmare!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Reserved port a good time... paid $$. Reservation fell through cracks! Talked with two managers refused to accept responsibility. Rented property That cost less-no refund or credit! Lost money. Day of arrival could not get into property! Called company entered override code and sent repairman to recode door. The house was not even rented the previous day...but had late check in and this is what we found. House was filthy...dead roaches, confetti scattered throughout home, dirty dishes, dirty pans with food hidden in pantry that STUNK. Shower door falling off. Dryer did not work. Ping pong table broken.. had been shoved against wall...could have hurt someone. Quite a disappointment to say the least!!! Love Port Aransas but will NEVER use silver sands vacation rental!
