Big remote house in the valley

We enjoyed our stay at bird island. The check in and check out process was super easy. We loved coming home to the hot tub after a long day of hiking. We used this place as our Basecamp and then drove to lake Louise, Golden, and iceroad hwy. The Radium springs area is beautiful, and the hot springs relaxing. Not much in the actual city so good idea to stick up on food and stuff before driving to the house. Also just a heads up the road to the house is 30 minutes on gravel drives so be prepared for that. Other than that the stay and house were fantastic!

Weekend with friends

Bird Island was a great location and size for two families with 9-14 year olds to meet up and spend the weekend together. Lots of space and all the cooking utensils you need. The guest house is much closer to the main house than we understood from the pictures but the owners are quiet and respectful. The views anre beautiful, location unique anns the fireplace and hot tub were much anppreciated. Overall a good weekend for both families.

Beautiful property!

We loved the quiet, serene landscape that Milena's property is on. Really amazing for a relaxing and peaceful vacation away from all the business of the city. The house was very clean, had everything we needed, and communication with the host was great. A very unique and beautiful property in a stunning location. Loved the hot tub before bed as well. Only had 4 people but even a stay of 10+ people would have more than enough room for everyone. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful Bird Island

Beautiful location with all the amenities (and more) provided. Plenty of room for the seven of us that stayed for the weekend. Milena and Jeremiah are excellent hosts. Hot tub was a big hit with the adults, and the kids loved the trampoline and swing set. Roughly 25 minutes to Radium, half of that to Invermere on paved & gravel roads. Thoroughly enjoyable.

A highly unique property a ways out of town but great for those looking for an escape. Quiet with lots of wildlife/bird-spotting opportunities. Great beds for a larger group and a wonderful deck and bbq.

I was born and raised in Germany, but life took a beautiful turn when I fell in love with a Canadian boy. His family has called the Columbia Valley home for 12 generations, and we too decided to make this special place our home. I absolutely love everything mountain life has to offer—hiking, biking, camping, and paddleboarding in the summer, and skiing and skating in the winter. I feel incredibly blessed to live in such a unique and breathtaking area, and it’s truly an honor to share this rare gem with our guests.

Why they chose this property

The island is owned by my husband’s family, and we feel so fortunate to have been able to build our home here. We love the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the island—it’s like stepping into a serene retreat far from the hustle and bustle of towns and cities. The views are breathtaking, and there’s something so grounding and calming about being surrounded by majestic mountains, untouched nature, tranquil wetlands, and abundant wildlife. It’s truly a special place, and we cherish every moment we spend on the island.

What makes this property unique

Our property is truly one-of-a-kind—it's located on its own island! Surrounded by British Columbia's largest untouched wetlands and framed by majestic mountains on every side, the setting is nothing short of spectacular. It’s a place where you can completely immerse yourself in nature’s beauty and feel a world away from it all.
