About this property
Historic Downtown Luxury. Your own oasis but close to everything with parking
PLEASE NOTE: We are only renting this house for commissioning week.
The McCusker house has historical charm with high-end upgrades to make this an oasis in Downtown Annapolis. 3+ bed and 2 ½ bath home with 2,600 square feet plus back courtyard and side porch entertaining spaces, very centrally located in the Historic District next to the Capitol Building. You are walking distance to the Academy, the best restaurants, shopping on Main Street, Maryland Avenue and West Street, City Dock and the Water Taxi that goes to Eastport and beyond. USNA stadium is a mile away if you wanted to walk and avoid the traffic.
The 250-year-old McCusker House is named after John McCusker who was superintendent of construction at the Academy and responsible for construction of Bancroft Hall. The house also incorporates what was a stand-alone kitchen with the great fireplace from 1696 and considered to be the oldest standing structure in Annapolis. Although historic in nature, this isn’t a stuffy museum but welcoming, luxurious, and comfortable. Our home is nicely decorated with all modern conveniences but preserves the historical nature, with original wood floors and details throughout.
Main level has a chef’s kitchen, dining room, living room and family room with 2 gas fireplaces, guest bathroom and large washer/dryer. The kitchen is very well equipped with new Monogram appliances and all cooking and serving utensils. The basement has additional storage and a second fridge/freezer.
Upstairs includes the Master Bedroom with King Bed and bathroom, a guest bedroom with a queen and the office which can be converted to a 4th bedroom upon request. Behind a sliding door is the quest suite with a queen bed and full bath.
Outdoor entertaining spaces include a brick driveway with parking for 5 and doubles as great hangout space…or play pickleball! (small net included) Side porch and enclosed back yard are well equipped for an intimate gathering of 25 people. Outdoor spaces provide privacy and other amenities including outdoor speaker, television, ping pong table, cornhole, solo stove, heat lamp, outdoor ‘string lighting’ and dart board. Electronics: 6-zone Bose audio system, a new 65” Sony HDTV, and Verizon FIOS 1MB internet.
No smoking…please. This is our 'real' home, where we live and only rent for mellow family events. We are a USNA family so we understand Commissioning and can help with arrangements with tables, chairs, USNA gear for your use. Additional lodging is very close, for additional space. We are sorry but do not allow pets unless agreed to in writing.
7 nights with all fees - $16,360 (exclude a $2,500 yet 100% refundable damage deposit)
If another commissioning week is cancelled or the Mid is not commissioned *and* a 90-day notice, you will receive a 100% refund.
