Location was good, first impression was good but after a day I noticed the need for a deep clean, the drawer pull in the bedroom had some sticky substance on it. Light bulbs over the kitchen island needed to be replaced. Dining room leg was bucking under. No mirrors??
Sadly wasn't able to stay, host didn't reply to my text/calls until 30-40 after check-in
Sadly I wasn't able to stay at this location. I booked the location on December 23rd and the host approved the booking. January 18th on check-in day I didn't receive my code. I messaged via the app, and 10 minutes after I called and left a voice mail. The host didn't respond to either. I called VRBO to see if I can get it resolved. VRBO called the host as well with me on the line and still no answer. While on the phone with them, towards the end of our call, I get a notification saying my booking was refunded. Granted this was all about 30 minutes of trying to get in contact with the host. What I receive next was a message from the host via the app and not even a returned phone call. The host states the system was having a technical glitch and it didn't appear on her schedule. I find this hard to believe as you accepted the booking back in December, how could it not show up? All I got was a "Sincere apology", and that's it. Didn't mentioned any alternatives, or no prompt to give me a code to let me in. I don't like to leave these reviews as I'm sure the location is amazing. This was an awful experience for me, probably the worst I've dealt with renting a location from someone. I'll still say give it a shot to try and stay here, just be more prompt with the host to be sure you're set day of or you'll be stuck in a situation like me.
I was optimistic before our stay, but we had issues.
When we arrived, we noticed the neighborhood was a bit run down, but being redeveloped. I was surprised that this was a multi-unit space (duplex). I wish this would have been in the listing. We rented for a place to stay while attending a Red Wings game. Getting an Uber was pretty easy. The kitchen plugs were not working. We were able to reset one side of the kitchen, but could not locate a breaker box, so the refrigerator & other side of the kitchen did not work. I let the host know, and that we did not need the fridge. I hope they get this fixed. We noticed when we arrived home after the game that two windows were opened slightly that we did not notice when we quickly dropped off our stuff. That was a safety issue & I hope they can incorporate a checklist during the cleaning process to ensure all windows are closed & locked. We arrived after the game & a few beverages downtown about 11:30 pm. Just before midnight, loud music with heavy bass started in the upstairs unit. We went next door and knocked (a bit concerned from a safery perspective) & nobody answered since the door is at the ground floor and the unit is upstairs. I texted the host (knowing it was late, I did not expect a response that night, but did expect something first thing the next morning). The loud music continued from about midnight until about 3:50 am. We did not sleep until about 4 am. It was a rough one night stay. I texted the host the next morning & received a limited response. 5/10 score.

We really enjoyed our stay at Michelle's ..Large 2 br unit with so much space, spotless and clean and in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood ..Excellent parking and walking distance to West Village Shops...Close to everything in Detroit !....Great value and unit was just like the pictures :)
Long weekend in Detroit to participate in the Free Press Marathon. Our stay was a perfect distance away from the craziness of downtown, but close enough to zip in in less than 15mins. The neighborhood was quiet. Accommodations were simple and plenty for our needs.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We loved the floorplan and the atmosphere of the vrbo. Michelle was great at communicating rules and answering questions. We will look into more of Michelle's vrbos and keep this one in mind for our next visit to Detroit.
The place was beautiful inside. We could have used extra blankets. We thought we were closer to Grosse Pointe. The neighborhood was a little sketchy but you can tell it is a work in Progress!
We had such a great time in Detroit! Michelle’s place is amazing!! Super clean, great location, neighbors are fantastic and Michelle is super responsive. She even arranged to mail my backpack to me after I left it behind!! We’re already planning our next trip!
This rental is perfect for anyone in Detroit for a sports event, concert or visit. Very clean, located close to downtown with easy freeway access. Very quiet neighborhood.
We really enjoyed our visit and would use this rental again.
Very clean downstairs apartment. Best house on a not so great street, but never felt unsafe. East drive to Comerica Park. Would stay again and would recommend
