About this property

Escape to another world in a renovated 130 y.o. cabin on 850 acres.

Escape to another world in a uniquely restored 130 yr old lodge that blends modern comfort with primitive origins. Perched on a hill overlooking a private lake you will feel time slow while you enjoy every hand-crafted detail that reveals a connection to the natural world outside.

While at Vanderkamp you will borrow 850 acres of privately managed natural habitat with 9 miles of hiking trails and tons of outdoor amenities. You won't want to leave this ultimate escape.

FULL DESCRIPTION

Begin your journey with a slow drive up a gravel road leading to the top of a small hill. Nestled in the trees and ferns ½ mile from the nearest road you’ll find the oldest lodge on the Vanderkamp property overlooking a private 50-acre lake. Langston has been carefully renovated and restored to introduce modern comforts while celebrating the primitive origins of the lodge. Cross the threshold and step back in time as the warm wood interior greets you and everything from the stone fireplace to the kitchen cabinets to the bathroom vanity have been hand crafted from materials found on site.

Langston is a one room open plan lodge with King bed that offers most the amenities of a modern luxury escape while wrapped in the rich history of a bygone era. If you wake up early and make a pot of locally roasted French Press coffee, you can sit on the front porch listening to the woodland birds prepare for the day. Or grab a book and burrow into the giant pillow laden reading nook to escape into another world. When you are ready, step off the porch and into the woods to explore our 9 miles of private hiking trails, borrow a canoe and paddle around the 50-acre private lake, then head back to your secluded lodge to make a fire in the outdoor pit and relax in a covered lounge while the charcoal grill heats up.

After dinner climb into the large tub for two in the cavernous bathroom and open the huge french windows to feel like you are bathing among the stars. On cold nights cozy up to a fire roaring in the 130 year old stone hearth and raise the smart TV out of a concealed chest to stream your favorite movie.

Langston is the most romantic lodge at Vanderkamp, every detail was carefully crafted to honor the past, embrace the future, and help you focus on your escape.
