On a positive note, the unit does have a great view; probably one of the best in the complex. The Islander on the beach has a vintage charm, and nice grounds. My hubs had fun at the little tiki bar, and we liked that the lava lava was next door. I also liked that there were lounge chairs set up on the beach, it makes it easy to go sit by the water.
Unfortunately, the room had such an uncomfortable, lumpy mattress, that I ended up sleeping on the twin size pull out cot for most of the week. Kind of ironic considering I rented the place for the king size bed. Also, we only had one beach towel, and two bath towels each to last for 9 days. As a vrbo guest, you don’t get towel service, and are not allowed to use the laundry room. I’ll never stay at a rental on the beach again that doesn’t have access to laundry. While the view was great, I would have traded it on day two for a dry towel and a comfortable bed. It would be an ok place to stay for three days tops, imo.
This was also a strange situation for us, because the condo changed owners between the time we paid, and the day of our arrival. There was definitely a lack of transparency, because the first owner didn’t disclose that she was selling the unit until we had paid the non refundable payments. This did cause some confusion and minor inconveniences before we left for this vacation, and the listing doesn’t have accurate pictures currently.
