Girls weekend

What a wonderful time we had. The house was perfect and located right near town. We had such an adventure and a great time celebrating my mom’s 88th birthday. Highly recommend this house and definitely will be going back.

Perfect location

The house was perfectly located between Cherokee and Waynesville. Super close to Maggie Valley shops and restaurants. The house sits on a creek that was absolutely beautiful with the ice. Only regret was that we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the scenery on the large deck due to the single digit temps. We appreciated the fact that the deck had mats that allowed us to safely walk without fear of ice. Communication with the owner, Josh, was superb. Due to some issues with the heat, I had to message him on Christmas Day. He called me within two minutes! He had back up heaters and shared some tips. After the call, he messaged to check on us multiple times. Appliances were modern and everything we needed was provided. It was truly a lovely place for rest and relaxation! The only negative is that since it is an older house it has a musty smell that is very noticeable when you enter. After being inside a few minutes, it is not noticeable; however, our clothing did have a faint smell when we left.

Pure Peace

Listing was as listed....very clean and private. We had a wonderful stay. I was recovering from surgery when we went and I would recommend this listing to people with physical disabilities due to it's ramps...only a few steps. God knows I appreciated all those ramps.

Long weekend

Location was easy to get to. The setting was perfect, walking across your private bridge over the creek to the cabin. We have taken multiple trips to the southern part of the smokeys. This cabin was so perfect we just wanted to set there and enjoy the beautiful setting that surrounded us. We did go into Waynesville on a couple of trips and loved it. It is also short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will be back.

Great getaway location

My Dad and I had a great time here. The stream running through the front yard is amazing with lots of wildlife. Very cozy and not far from plenty of food and shopping and only 20 minutes to Cherokee. Great place to stay!

the roaring stream

Loved the location and the house was fully equipped. Loved that it was private. The outside could have used some cleaning, actually leaf blown. There was spider webs all over the door and chairs and the decks could have been swept up and the grass could have been mowed. But it is in the woods

Mountain cabin

Originally, we booked this cabin for myself, wife, and two kids. However, my wife and daughter couldn’t make it, which ended up being a blessing. While the cabin is in an ideal location (5 min to skiing), we wouldn’t have fit with the four of us. If you’re a small family of three, or a group of three no more then this cabin is ideal. It was perfect for us!

Location is key

We had an amazing stay! Absolutely amazing place to stay, perfect location for all activities, food, and entertainment. The sounds of the creek are amazing and we will definitely be back to stay here again in the summer to enjoy the creek. We also loved that it was dog friendly and its secluded enough to let the dog out without any worrying. Josh the owner wa damaging about answer and calls and any questions we had during and before our stay.

Perfect for Exploration

While the ultimate wish was for our kids to see and experience snow, I should have heeded the hesitation in this cottage owner's voice that snow is NOT likely around Christmastime in NC. He was right! So when it was the week before our trip between Christmas and New Year's and it was all 50-60 degrees in the forecast, I panicked a little. But then we pulled up on this quiet cottage and the sound of the rushing creek was like a magnet for the kids to explore. They could have spent all 4 days jumping the rocks and playing in the ankle-deep water. They were always supervised but they spent hours just using their imagination and playing outside on the property. We did not get to see any snow, but we did introduce them to skiing with the small amount of snow that has been man-made on the Cataloochee Ski area slopes. We will try this trip again in a January and February when snow is actually likely, especially since we didn't realize the one major ski area was on the same mountain as this cottage. Not even 3 miles up the road! But there was plenty else to do, from Soco Falls a few minutes away, to a 30-minute drive into Waynesville. The spot was just right for our mini family vacation and do recommend it to others!

Fire pit on the creek !

The house is very comfy and clean The outdoor portion is perfect..the view with a beautiful running creek and a fire pit is excellent. The owner Josh is very down to earth and great to deal with. If we had a bit of disappointment it would be the lack of a working indoor fireplace but it was down to 20 on our trip at Thanksgiving. The new Heat Pump was fine but struggled one night. The cookware is more then adequate but some new Teflon pans would be great! The appliances are all excellent and beds comfortable!

Great location

The mountain stream really added to the experience. The house was clean. It was well stocked with cleaning supplies, dish soap, toilet paper, kitchen supplies and utensils. Just needed to bring food. We had to figure out how to operate the Kerig coffee maker. Just put in one cup of water to brew. The couches were too soft for a couple of old people to get up from, needs a couple of recliners or straight chairs. The tv screen is massive, but with 3 remotes and no instructions, it was a challenge to operate. The bathroom was very good with a tall toilet and walk-in shower. Another plus for us old folks.

Beautiful mountain Trip

This property feels like you are away from it all with its gorgeous view and creek which runs through the property. It is also really conveniently located to the main strip of downtown Maggie Valley, as well as the Great Smokey Mountains. Josh was very helpful in providing details on local things which would be appropriate for our family with teen/tween kids. We had a wonderful time and look forward to another visit!

Quiet & secluded

Pictures are accurate. The creek coming down the mountain is beautiful, tranquil and greatly appreciated the wicker chairs to relax, read and enjoy the mini-waterfall creek. Only complaint was the musty smell upon first arrival as the house must have been closed up for a bit. Once we began going in / out & circulating the air with the fans, it quickly dissipated. Kitchen had nice set-up, but we didn't cook while visiting & only brought snack food. Bathroom shower very nice w/ plenty of room & shelves for bottles etc. Only used one bedroom & it was comfortable, had a ceiling fan. Didn't know why a screen was screwed over top of the door on the inside to another exterior private deck from the bedroom, but we were unable to go to the deck. Not a big deal since there were two other outdoor seating areas.

We had a blast and the weather was great other than the daily storms. The location was perfect as it is centrally located to Cherokee, Waynesville, and the Blue Ridge parkway. The stream running through the property was so peaceful and relaxing. We would sit out on the porch and just listen to the running water and the cool weather was perfect. We would definitely stay again.

great location and property for a getaway

The location is great, backed by a hill, has a nice mountain view and the bubbling brook in front of the house. It's very quiet during our stay, no issue with noise at all. We can hear the bubbling brook and birds, that's about it. We had 2 elementary-aged kids and a well-behaved dog. We were able to do virtual learning and working at the same time (although speed is a little challenging at times when there are 4 devices online at the same time). We cooked all the meals during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and pots and pans were in great shape. It's actually one of the few houses we stayed that has sturdy metal pots (rather than teflon pots that are flaking off). Overall, very functional and comfortable house for a family of 4 and a dog. Josh is a great host, very helpful and responsive. Would love to return in the near future.
