About the host
Hosted by Ed Hoke

Hello! My name is Ed, and I love sharing my place! I have worked hard to fill some rooms with Mid-Century Modern pieces and chose details and color to make it feel bright and comfortable. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for mid-century modern with others and hope those that rent would appreciate that too.
My motto is "Life is short. Let's make our time count."
Why they chose this property
The Inglewood neighborhood of East Nashville is rapidly growing due to the less-congested feeling, close proximity to nature, and homes with typically larger acreage than Eastland, Rosebank, etc., yet still being in a great centralized location. It is a very clean neighborhood, with the quaint Riverside Drive serving as a scenic way to travel north and south in it. Not only are you minutes from Riverside Village, but getting to 5 Points and the heart of Broadway is a snap! Spots to visit in the neighborhood include: Dose Café, Village Pub, Mitchell’s Deli, Riverside Pharmacy, Bite a Bit Thai, Castrillo’s Pizza, and Riverside Market Convenience Store (decent beer selection). Shelby Bottoms Greenway is around th corner and it goes along the Cumberland River. I have seen baby deer 10 feet away munching on vegetation early this summer. You can ride a bike to Downtown on the path if you like. Rental eBikes bikes are available, at close-by Ft. Cornelia Airstrip Park trailhead (5 minutes). There is a strong residential vibe in my area, and the neighbors are so helpful and kind. You’ll find less transient folks, its one of the lowest violent crime areas in East Nashville, properties are well-maintained, and there is plenty of new construction. Many have their own « urban farms » going as well as the front and back yards are large enough to support a nice yield for a family. Going north on Gallatin, about 12-15 minutes, you’ll find up-and-coming Madison which has a well-loved Farmer’s Market on Sundays at the Historic Amqui Train Station, which was saved from the wrecking ball when Johnny Cash bought the property. There is memorabilia inside and live music on the porch during the market. Further north on Gallatin of this you’ll find many strip malls, and some stores were closed during Covid. But you will still find Target, Chick-fil-A, Burger King, etc.
What makes this property unique
Sitting on the screened in deck in the morning is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or tea as the birds are very active in the mature-tree covered large back-yard. You'll feel as if you are part of an aviary with Blue Jays, Cardinals, Humming Birds, Tanagers, and other songbirds filling you with joy!
Unlike more densely populated Eastwood, the lots are larger in Inglewood and the neighbors are very chill (and not on top of you) giving you a feeling of privacy and tranquility while also being only 10 minutes by car to the heart of 5 Points. Downtown Nashville is also close with the Ryman Auditorium only 16 minutes away. Madison is up the road to the north where you may find the Sunday Farmer's Market at the Amqui Train Station (saved by Johnny Cash)., as well as convenient "big box" stores.
I happen to love the outdoors and this house gives you easy access to Shelby Bottoms which is a fabulous place to hike, run or cycle (you can ride all the way Downtown) and several times I have seen baby deer eating just feet away (what are they thinking!). It’s a perfect cozy house, with a lovely, functional outdoor space where you do not need to worry about mosquitos!
