Great home base with the dog
Great location to enjoy the North Shore. My kiddo and I made the trip up with our dog to go hiking for the weekend. This home is an easy drive to Grand Marais and many state park hikes. It’s ground level with a sliding glass door which makes for a beautiful view of the lake and super convenient for taking the dog out.

Very pleasant
Exactly what I expected with a beautiful view and nice communal areas. Feels like you're staying in a small family cabin.

It was a great place to stay. Loved the sound at night of the lake hitting the rocks. The only thing that did not work was the toaster. It was broken.

Lovely setting, painful beds
Beautiful location and access to hiking, e-bikes, waterfalls and Lake Superior. Love the 1970s feel of the resort and enjoyed the hot tub, pool and game room. Only negative was the old and uncomfortable bed and futon. Replace those and we’re back in a heartbeat.

Perfect home base
We enjoyed our stay at unit 10! It was a good "home base" for exploring the North Shore. We appreciated that it opened up to the ground level for the ease of letting our dog out. The kitchen met our needs; we did not use any of the amenities that are shared with other guests. The next door neighbors were very friendly. In warmer weather, sitting outside to eat or read and enjoy the beautiful lake views would be lovely.

Fun stay
I had a wonderful time at your place! Just could use a few updated when you get extra money. You have to reach over the burner to shut it off. The blender was missing a part. Would have been nice to have a little table outside by the chairs for my coffee. A keurug would be a nice touch. The shower head is pretty short. Not much you could do about that. Thanks for letting me stay at your place Beautiful location!!

Shabby and not a bit chic
This unit does not meet the level one expects from a VRBO property. The molding and paint in the bathroom was disgusting, dirty and chipped. Border wallpaper was rolled and loose through the entire unit. The futon/sofa in the living room was so hard with a cushion that was compressed and uncomfortable. This is where someone is to sleep? Drapes in living room were half attached and half drooping. Patio full is grass and leaves…not swept and cleaned. Positives about the Chateau: hot tub, swimming pool, and lovely community deck. Stunning view of Lake Superior! Would we recommend or stay in unit 10? NEVER

We appreciated everything about this property. The VHS movies elicited a sense of nostalgia. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The views were outstanding. The unit was charming and the grounds were a pleasure to walk. In the living room sat a futon that was comfortable to sit on and an electric stove that worked as you’d expect. The pool and hot tub were a touch heavy on the chlorine but perhaps they were just cleaned. I enjoyed the sauna most. There is also a game room with pool, table tennis, and more. Lutsen is nearby as are cross country ski trails. I’d stay again. As the listing says, it’s not “updated” but that’s not to say it’s lacking. We enjoyed it and so did our dogs.
