Snowy Paradise

The house, the view, and the sheep were AMAZING!! What an unbelievable place to stay. The house was perfect, clean, and the sun room with a fireplace and hot coffee in the morning while it snowed was icing on the cake!! What a remarkable view, both front and back. What a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. We couldn't have been more satisfied with our stay!! Thank you McCarthy Family for sharing your guest home with us. Merry Christmas!🎄

Beautiful mountainside stay

Very pretty house inside and out. Mountain views are amazing. The sheep and pasture are really nice to see. We enjoyed every morning out on the covered porch having coffee and breakfast while taking in the views. The house is centrally located to so many places in Vermont. The pond had nice fishing for kids. Communication was very prompt. I would love to come back to the property next time we come to Vermont.

Beautiful location

This lovely home is located in a very rural location at the end of a country road. The views are beautiful around the property but especially from the front. The property is very well equipped and homely. Very cozy for the winter months that we saw. The owners are friendly and very responsive. Overall if you want a vacation to relax and enjoy walks this is perfect.

Beautiful Vermont Getaway

This property is nestled high up in a hilltown valley nestled between green mountain ranges. The house is well-maintained and the hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. The house featured all modern amenities. The sheep in the field nearby were amazing to watch. The views from the house were spectacular! The location is nearby to Middlebury and Bristol (10-30 minutes) and for a slightly longer drive, Burlington, Waitsfield, Waterbury, and Stowe (40-90 minutes). Incredible access to biking and hiking. We brought our dog and everything went smooth. Excited to return at some point for the folliage and for skiing.

Winter wonderland!

The Guest House was the perfect stay for our winter vacation. It is a home away from home with all of the comforts. Carin even provided sleds for the kids to go sledding after it snowed. The kitchen is fully stocked with supplies for meals. We hope to be back in the spring/summer!

About the host

Hosted by Carin H McCarthy

Host profile image
Carin grew up right around the corner, lived abroad and moved back to VT, where she met Luke, who gleefully convinced her to move back to the country and raise a family in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. We found our dream house and started a Bed and Breakfast. When the neighbor's property came up for sale, it became the Guest House and allowed visitors to enjoy extended stays, family reunions, writer's getaways, and a lovely place to enjoy a slower pace. We love to host guests and help people experience the best of Vermont, whether visiting for a weekend or an extended stay.

Why they chose this property

We love helping people to reconnect with themselves and each other, and create lasting memories in a beautiful space. We live next door but far out of eyesight, so we can help if you need anything and you can enjoy all the privacy you desire while you're away from home.
We know how tricky it can be to travel with kids. If you need anything, we can probably help!

What makes this property unique

Free Wifi, Garage parking, excellent sledding hill!, Smart TV, Smart home safety devices (smoke and carbon monoxide detectors), full kitchen, enclosed sunroom with fireplace and front porch with stunning views, your closest neighbor is a flock of sheep!
