Nate's Place - Your Volcano Getaway

Nate's Place is a cozy yet spacious two bedroom, two bathroom vacation home in the Volcano Golf and Country Club neighborhood, Volcano, Hawaii on Hawaii Island (The Big Island). Our house sits on the quiet end of a cul-de-sac on a double lot. You'll have the entire home to yourself and relax surrounded by old growth Koa trees and our rolling lawn.

Nate's Place offers a comfortable living room, a small dining room and galley kitchen well stocked for cooking and enjoying local produce. The main bedroom has a king sized bed, walk-in closet and full bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin size beds and there is a second full bathroom. A laundry room with washer and dryer is also available for your use. The home features a wall unit electric heater in the dining room that effectively heats the common areas of the home. There are three space heaters and plenty of warm blankets for comfortable sleeping on the nights when the weather turns chilly.

Our neighborhood is just a mile from the entrance to Volcanoes National Park with hundreds of miles of hiking trails and sometimes active LAVA in the crater deep within the park. Visitors flock to Volcano all year enjoying our temperate climate. Our property and the park are full of native song birds for those ornithologists and casual bird watchers alike.

Great location for the national park

We had a great stay. It was very close to the national park. It was fun to watch the birds in the yard. We didn't use the heaters but were thankful they were available. It did get chilly overnight.

It had all the basic amenities we needed, the property is gorgeous, and it is so close to the national park. I appreciated being able to get up early and take a very quick drive down the street for amazing hiking in the park! Plenty of space heaters and a wall heater in the kitchen to keep the home warm during chilly nights and mornings. Extremely easy check-in and check-out process!

Great place to stay!

We loved staying at Nate's Place. It's a cute little house in a golf course neighborhood and is very close to Volcanoes National Park. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends!

Cozy Cottage

If you’re looking for a luxurious get away, then look somewhere else. However, if you want a cute, comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood then this is your place. Located close to the National Park entrance, Nate’s place sits on a spacious, beautiful lot. While there is no central heat, there are space heaters to keep you warm on those chilly nights. There was plenty of room for the four of us to eat a meal and watch TV. This is the ideal home for those longing for a simple, yet comfortable vacation spot.

I tried the floor heater in the master bedroom but it didn't work. We opened windows in evening to cool it off but learned after 2 nights not to do that. The TV didn't work in the master bedroom. The faucet handle in the master bath shower came off, replaced it. These were minor things for me... wasn't there to watch TV, like it cold at night to sleep, and shower worked. Would stay here again.

Perfectly Delightful Home for Visiting Volcano National Park

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 4 stayed here in August of 2023 and it was the perfect location for early morning hikes or staying out late at VNP. Less than 5 minutes from the park it's in a very quiet neighborhood and has everything you need and more. 2 bathrooms made getting out of the house in the morning easier, the kitchen had the basic appliances and then some. Having the washing an dryer was so helpful as we were staying in a hotel when visiting the other side of the island. The house was clean, management was very responsive. All around, I would recommend this home to anyone visiting this side of the island.

Great location if you are visiting Volcanoes National Park. The place was comfortable and quiet. We spent most of our time at the park but it was nice to have a home base close by.

Great neighborhood, quiet and upscale

Overall our stay was great. Unfortunately the listing said there was a gas fireplace which was one of the main reasons I booked this place. We're suckers for a fireplace. Anyway, I believe they've changed that verbiage now. Heaters throughout so you can get warm on cold nights. Suggestions would be to fully stock the kitchen better, its far from fully stocked. And it needs more lighting, too dark when traveling with elderly parents. The driveway gets muddy fast without any gravel laid down. But wasn't a major issue getting in and out. The best part of this property is the property itself, huge back yard, birds walking around, quiet and peaceful and the neighborhood is upscale by Volcano standards and neighbors are friendly. We would rent again but hoping they can tweak a few things to take it from good, to great! Management is awesome by the way. Highly recommend renting from them.
