Don't let the 3 stories scare you, there is an elevator that is perfect for guests that need a little assistance and it's great for hauling all of your things up to the different levels of the house. The 3rd floor is the HUB of the house, open concept at its best. On this floor you will find a large kitchen with a huge island with bar stools around it, a large dining table that seats 10- perfect for entertaining. There is a large living room with sofas and a desk. 2 TVs for watching movies or playing video games. One TV on each side of the wood burning fireplace/stove. Beautiful home near Mt. Hood, perfect for our large family gathering. Winter sledding run easy to build near the property. Kitchen was extremely well equipped, beds were comfortable, and there was a great stock of games. Stunning holiday decor!
Excellent Location for Large Family w/ Kids of All Ages !
My large family takes an annual vacation using VRBO to book our stays. I found this property in a beautiful, quiet setting near Timberline Lodge and booked it at maximum capacity.
The house has three levels and 6 bedrooms, one of which has 4 bunk beds that can sleep 8! (We used this room for all the girl cousins)
The bottom floor had a bedroom with two beds and garage access. The top floor had a large family room with two TVs, a large dining table, a smaller table, couches, computer counter area w./ printer, a large deck w/ BBQ and table, a large kitchen with plenty of dishes and cookware, and two refrigerators which came in handy for such a large party.
The house has books, movies, games, and lots of things to keep children entertained! It is situated on a quiet, dead-end street that is secluded by large fir trees. The neighbors were friendly and sociable. The property is situated across HWY 26 from the main entertainment loop in Government Camp. In a short, 2-minute drive, you can access numerous restaurants, a general store, SkiBowl, and many other family-friendly attractions. It is also close to several Mt. Hood lakes.
The three stories allowed for us to be spread out limiting noise and allowing for kids and adults to engage in different activities. The elevator is a nice attribute for luggage and for folks that have difficulty with stairs.
I would highly recommend this property for large families with kids as it was comfortable and clean and spacious!
Beautiful, unique home in a great location, ideal for large groups
Scott and Kim are responsive and thoughtful hosts with a large, fun, beautiful home that easily accommodated our group of 16 skiers. The top floor kitchen, dining, and living areas are spacious and comfortable with giant windows providing great views of trees, snow fall, and a pleasant neighborhood. The 2nd floor is a nice hangout centered amongst 4 bedrooms with access to the hot tub. We made use of the boot/glove warmers, many board games, books, tvs, and the elevator to haul our bags and groceries. And we had long running conversations about the possible origins of the expansive and impressive Dickens Village decorations that help create the winter wonderland. There were also sleds and snow shoes but we took full advantage of having the ski lifts open day and night, right in our backyard! Thank you Scott and Kim, we look forward to coming back.
