This experience is one of a kind in Amarillo, TX! When you check in to this time capsule, you will start reminiscing about diners, hippies & big hair bands! This home is even better than the generations it represents. This is a bright, clean, comfortable space perfect for family travel where you can relax & reminisce. 3 bedrooms filled with items from the era it represents; full bath, & kitchen & spacious living room.

Driving through the area

The home is lovely and the age/era decor is out of this world! There were many items that I had not thought about in many years until I saw them again in this house . We loved the cleverly arranged items and their integration into the decor.

Great choice

We rented this for a family Christmas get together with our kids. We live about 100 miles from them. This was a great choice. We loved the decor it brought back childhood memories from the 80s.

Needs a little spruce up.

We arrived a little earlier than expected but Tana gave us the “ok” to enter house. Email instructions for keypad entry states it was the last 4 digits of my phone number however this did not work, Tana responded immediately with the actual digit entry. Rain hit and the front porch was impassable without soaked feet, so needs levelling or something, yes the house is older and this is evident, surface clean for sure but in need of deep clean around baseboards and doors / woodwork. Very quaint and colourful and we slept well.

Loved the retro theme rt 66 . House was super clean and comfortable. Location to what we were doing was A+. Communication was super fast. The house was cool with info from different decades, There were games to play, tv, video dvd to watch. Convenient and close to everything! As grill outside with some chairs. Was just great! We had a great stay in Amarillo. The house was super cute. We had plenty of room to move about. The retro vibe was on point too. The hosts were quick to respond when having a question. Would stay here again-

Amarillo for the Move

We were in Amarillo to help move my wife's daughter. The house was as advertised. Clean and very tastefully decorated. Door code worked, and house alarm to unarmed no problem. Very, very nice house! And some of the best coffee table books I've ever seen!

Lovely place

Place was as described and it was cute. I wasn’t a huge fan of being a list of things to clean when I left because I would have assumed that would be included in the variety of fees I paid. Taking out the trash seemed a bit much for a 14 hr stay when I paid for, as required, the maid service. When furniture was moved when we dropped some things, it wasn’t as clean as it appeared at first. But the positives where still there- fun, spacious, cool stuff, easy to use and easy check in.

My husband and I have called Amarillo, TX our home for most of our lives. I am a Registered Nurse at a local hospital and my husband owns a local chimney sweep business. We have 4 children and 4 grand children. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our family.

Why they chose this property

This is Tana's childhood home. It represents the decades that have been experienced in this home. It is a time capsule attempting to capture the moments from each decade that were enjoyed during that era. The guests will enjoy small treasures from the moments those time periods represent, including the colors, styles, and memorabilia found throughout the home. It also has a RT 66 theme throughout, honoring a piece of history shared right here in Amarillo, TX.

What makes this property unique

The house is in a great location near the medical district and only minutes from I-40 and RT 66!

Walking trails and fishing ponds in Medi Park near hospital district.

It is only minutes to such tourist sites as Cadillac Ranch, The Big Texan, The Discovery Center, Amarillo Botanical Gardens, Hodgetown, and The Amarillo Civic Center.

Local entertainment can be enjoyed at Starlight Ranch and several local restaurants/bars.
