About this property

Cabin #8 - The Perch at Twin Peaks

Cabin 8 is one of 12 private, rustic cabins in Twin Peaks, on a property we call The Perch. It's unlike anyplace else on the mountain because the property is so open, beautiful and peaceful.
Cabin 8 is a beatifully furnished, spacious studio cabin with a full bathroom, and full kitchen with all the basics as well as a gas fireplace. We work hard to keep the original structure of the cabins, which were build in the early 30's. Inside, the cabin is tastefully decorated.

This historic cabin is nestled on a peaceful, secluded 4.5 acre property that consists of a large open field (unusual for the mountains), a forested area, a barn and several other cabins. The property is tucked away behind CA 189 so you feel like you're remote and secluded yet it's only 1.5 hours from LA and close to shopping and restaurants.

Enjoy the sounds of birds singing in the morning and owls hooting at night. You may hear coyotes at night and spot other wildlife in the area. There's lots to do in the area: winter sports, hiking, and activities at Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead. For the adventurous, there's hiking & off-road trails ranging from easy to difficult nearby and we are just 10 min from one of the best paragliding sites in the world.

You're welcome to wander the property including the barn and the areas around it. The BarBQs and outdoor furniture is for you to enjoy.

The Perch is owned by a family that had a vision of how special this property could be. We love the mountain area and were excited to create a unique, peaceful and beautiful space for guests to enjoy.

The cabins were built in the 30's, and it was one of the earliest resorts in the area, called Mile High Resorts. But it had fallen into disrepair by the time we bought the property in late 2018. We spent the next year upgrading the property and restoring the cabins in an exciting and stylish way. We opened up at the end of 2019.

Why they chose this property

The Perch is a magical space where you can wake up to birds singing in the morning and owls hooting at night. We're visited by deer and coyotes and if you're lucky you may even spot a bobcat or bear.

There are nearby hiking & off-road trails ranging from easy to difficult. Although it feels like you're visiting a hidden and remote place, we're just 10 min from grocery stores and restaurants.

The Perch includes a wooded section, two separate clusters of cabins (13 in total) and several areas to gather, including a large open meadow in the middle. This gives the property its unique spaciousness.

Lake Arrowhead Village, a shopping complex just 10 minutes away is on a private lake. Ten minutes in the other direction, is Lake Gregory, a public lake where you can hike around, fish or rent a small boat. This is located in Crestline which also has stores and restaurants. Sky Park/Santas Village is just 15 min up the mountain. Snow Valley is the nearest ski resort at just under 30 min away. We are 45 minutes from Big Bear.

We look forward to welcoming you! Follow us on instagram @theperchtwinpeaks.

What makes this property unique

The Perch is unique for several reasons. It was built before the county was established, so we enjoy the freedom to operate it the way it was originally conceived...a lodging with a barn and grounds where guests can gather to enjoy activities together. This is something that most Short Term Rentals can't accommodate.

The Perch at Twin Peaks is perfect for a quiet, private getaway, but also as a place to come with family, co-workers or friends to enjoy the outdoors together, yet with the privacy of your own cabin. We have a barn where you can gather for meals or games, and various outdoor areas, including a wide open space for an event. Reach out with any questions about renting the property for your reunion or retreat.
