Peaceful get-away

The cabin was comfortable and well- appointed. We enjoyed just hanging out at the cabin after some beautiful hiking trips nearby. You truly have a beautiful place. Paul was very helpful with tips and good restaurant recommendations. Star Wrangler is a wonderful place to get away and relax in style.

Wonderful Stay in Westcliff

The Star Wrangler boasted incredibly views of the stars and just the right amount of peace and quiet we desired. We enjoyed each space in the house from the loft, home gym, and well equipped kitchen. Outside is equally equipped with several different seating areas, a patio and grill. The town of Westcliff is a gem of a mountain town. We enjoyed good drinks, food, shopping and conversation. Looking forward to a return visit.

Family getaway

We met our Son and his family for a summer getaway. The house and property had everything needed for ease and comfort. There was a corn hole game that we spent several hours playing. Lot's of laughter and family fun. The area of Westcliff is beautiful and a little off the beaten track.

Wonderful property for an out of town getaway

A beautiful place to stay that is set in the cozy wet mountains. The house has everything you need for a wonderful stay. It is a 20 min drive to Westcliffe. The host and property manager are very communicative with answers to any questions. Also, the Starlink internet worked flawless the whole week. A 5 star must stay if looking for a remote place near Westcliffe area.

Beautiful home with cool spaces inside and out. Easy access to so many different Colorado “must sees”. We cant wait to come back and take full advantage of all the property and surrounding areas have to offer. (You thought of everything when stocking the home and your caretakers are amazing-thank you)

Perfect family gettaway!

Our family of 5 (kids ages 4,6,14) had the best week at this beautiful home! This was the most stocked house we’ve ever VRBO’d in. Anything you could think of that you may need-was there! Kids loved the kids areas, and playing corn-hole with us adults. The house set in the most beautiful mountain scape. About 15-20 minutes from town of Westcliffe. About 1-2 hours away from multiple local favorite attractions (Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, National Sand Dunes..ect) Amy was so kind to stay with, and very quick to answer. The welcome gift was such a nice touch. Check in and out was a breeze, Paul- property manager, was there to meet us as soon as we arrived. Gave us a brief run down of everything then gave us our privacy. Also reached out to him mid-week for a recommendation of a local fishing spot, he answered promptly and we enjoyed the spot! Highly recommend this home to anyone coming to the area!

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
John and I were born and raised in beautiful Southern Colorado. We are so proud of this gorgeous area and have spent a lifetime in and out of the Wet Mountains, Sangre de Cristo mountains and Front Range of Colorado. We love to enjoy all parts of the experience that awaits you. Antiquing in Florence, heading to dinner in Westcliffe, checking in at Bishop's Castle, sitting under the aspens at San Isabel Lake, hiking St Charles Trail, exploring the River Walk and many historic museums and restaurants in Pueblo. You name it, this area is a hidden jewel and we are proud to call it our home. We are so excited to share our home, Star Wrangler, with you. Being your host, means that we have the opportunity to think about what you would love before you arrive, anticipate what might delight you, learn from your comments on how to make things more beautiful and connect with you over your return visits. We hope to build memories with you and treasure the opportunity to enjoy this home and area together. Welcome and thank you for being our guests. Best to you, John and Amy

Why they chose this property

Our arrival at this beautiful home came out of tragedy. Our historic cabin in Beulah, Colorado burned to the ground in April 2022. After much deliberation and heart break, we made the decision as a family to look for a new home rather than rebuild as the time frame for rebuilding was too difficult given our greater family circumstances. Our greatest desire was to find a new mountain cabin in the Dark Skies area close to Westcliffe, Beulah and San Isabel that would also allow us to be close to Florence and Pueblo. What a find this beautiful home was! It had everything that we were looking for including a galaxy of stars above. It took us close to a year to work forward in creating the comfy retreat that we wanted to share and we hope that it is as much fun for you to stay in as it has been for us to fluff. We are constantly delighted by the opportunity to be part of the Westcliffe and Silver Cliff community stretching our hand east to Wetmore and Pueblo, north to Florence and south to San Isabel and Rye. This is our beloved stomping grounds; the trails of our childhood and we love so much to get to continue to be part of it.

What makes this property unique

Our property is unique in that it is vastly private. It is a true Colorado enclave that asks you to sit and glory in the beauty of Mother Nature. You can truly connect to yourself in this area and appreciate the beauty day and night of what it means to be in a very pristine, untouched area of Colorado full of wildflowers, the occasional hummingbird and chipmunk and the sound of the wind shaking the aspen leaves or stirring the clouds through the stars overhead. This is a rare thing in a state that is becoming busier and busier. We treasure the peace and ask our guests to enjoy and preserve this little corner of paradise.
