About this property

Family Compound: waterfront, 6 acres + pool

A stunning property located on 200' of Spring Lake. The 6 bedroom / 3.5 bath midcentury modern is a family or small group oasis, set up ideally for entertaining, relaxation and reconnecting with nature. Think family dinners in the gourmet kitchen, lots of lazy time on the couches looking out the expansive windows over the lake, afternoon swims in the heated pool, late nights playing games around the vintage bowling alley booth/table, and smores around the fire pit.

The house itself is an exposed ranch, with easy access for individuals with mobility issues (only 2 steps within the whole first level). With six bedrooms (4 king beds, 2 queen beds) there is room for families or multiple couples that want a retreat. The gourmet kitchen is set up with a eat-in breakfast bar, new stainless appliances, plenty of space to cook, and professional grade ice maker and beverage cooler. Adjacent to the kitchen is the great room, with windows on 3 sides and plenty of couches for everyone to have space and not be crowded. It's filled with lots of vintage mid-century details and vibes, perfect for those that want a lake house experience but not the cottage feel.

Games - did we say games?! The house has a 22' tournament length, vintage Rock-ola shuffleboard table, vintage pool table, dedicated checkers/chess/backgammon table, and a growing collection of family friendly board games.

There's a cozy movie room in the basement, with overstuffed couches and a 65" television with several of the top streaming services.

Laid out on over 6 acres of land, the property has a private drive with plenty of parking, heated pool (May 15 - September 15), a boat dock and great panoramic views of Spring Lake. The lake side of the house is fenced in, and the city has put a paved walking/biking path that cuts through the property and does a 11 mile loop around the lake as well as connecting to other regional paths.

Just a short boat drive to Grand River and beautiful beaches of Grand Haven/Lake Michigan! Centrally located close to Spring Lake Country Club, Schools, restaurants and more! Grand Rapids is just a mere 35 minute drive.

Family reunion

The Stuga property is beautiful and Brian, the host, was very responsive and accommodating for our booking. While the views of Spring Lake are gorgeous we enjoyed the pool the most. I would absolutely recommend this listing.

Great House for the Family

This was a great house for the family. The pool was a big hit! Lots of beach towels available. The kitchen had everything you would ever need. The lake was so relaxing to look out at and calming. There was a lot of board games to play, along with a shuffleboard table, checker/chess table and pool table downstairs. The sound system (wifi) throughout the house was good to play music inside and outside. The owners were always available if I had questions about anything before and during our stay. This is a very nice mid-century modern house that was almost too big! There was also a wine cooler, separate from the refrigerator to put water, pop and beer in. The only downside was it was a bit pricey for the week. However, the house was big enough for our whole entire family. Thanks again!!

Why they chose this property

Listed as a teardown in 2021, we couldn't let this gem of a home go unrescued. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that former owners had lovingly taken care of the property and that it needed another family to take up the task.
