I am writing to comment on my experience, having enjoyed several vacation stays in Hacienda San Clementino. This place is simply magical; roomy and casually comfortable with spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding towns and fabulous weather. It has been the venue for an unforgettable New Year's Eve celebration by candlelight in the private chapel and joyful summer weeks of barbeques, hiking, tennis, swimming and just hanging out with family and friends. I highly recommend this place for vacations.

What a brilliant time we had at both the Haciendas...basically we had the wedding (and week) of our dreams...it was PERFECT! Honestly, our guests (from Australia & UK) were speechless and have had the most incredible & memorable experience. The swimming pools, tennis court and hammocks were always in use and the food and service of the staff was brillaint. The owner, Pattie Hogan is ...The hostess with the most ..tesst and very helpful!!! I hope everyone gets to experience this magical, Mexican paradise in Tepoztlan.

Idyllic Mexican hideaway!

What a fantastic, laid-back vacation! The hacienda is great -- lots of nooks and corner for people to curl up and read a book, and big congregating spaces as well. Pool with heater that the fantastic house staff will open up whenever asked (kept it covered in winter to keep the heat in), private tennis court just below the house - the whole is in a walled compound with complete privacy. Couple hours from Mexico City airport, not far from Cuernavaca, day trip to Puebla -- and the town of Tepotzlan is a joy - great little places to eat, great outdoor/covered market - a perfect slice of Mexico! Would go back in a heartbeat. Take your friends and family!

Fabulous

Staying at your home was a true delight for our family during the Christmas Holidays. From the moment we arrived till our departure the house and staff was the perfect fit. Located like a private oasis in a beautiful setting it made us feel like we had escaped the world. The staff was polite, helpful, and there whenever we needed anything. I also can say that having them cook for us was a real treat. From the very first dish they sat in front of us, we could not stop talking about the food. We ventured out on Christmas Day to one of the most highly rated restaurants in Curnevaca for dinner. Although we enjoyed the outing, we all felt that the food a the casa was much better. The beds were fabulous and a surprise for how comfortable they were. The bedding was spot on. We watched movies, played games, ventured into the local town to hike to the pyramid, and spent countless hours just connecting as a family. This Christmas and this place will be forever etched in our memories. As we left on that final day, we all were a bit sad to leave behind this magical place. Thank you for sharing your home with us. More beautiful than you can imagine

This house is well-situated in a beautiful location surrounded by rocky mountain peaks and pretty views into the valley below. The mountains and hillsides are mostly undeveloped, covered with forest. The surrounding area is rural, dotted with farms, estates, and small villages. There is little light pollution at night. Walking the grounds under a full moon was spectacular. The air is clear and there are not a lot of bugs or mosquitos. We dined outside for every meal. The pool is warm, clean and well-maintained. The location is easy to get to from Mexico City, much of the way on a newly-paved interstate highway. The house itself and the property are very well-maintained and in pristine condition. The decor is attractive and interesting, with lots of personality. The estate has a long and fascinating history. The facility is completely secure with multiple gates, motion detecting lights, and other advanced security features as a result of use in the past by the British embassy. The staff are attentive, friendly, keep the place very clean, and cook and serve excellent meals. They decorate the table nightly with beautiful candles everywhere. I strongly recommend booking the staff for breakfasts and dinners, and for daily housekeeping. It is not expensive and makes for a much better vacation.

Family Vacation

Excellent service. Hacienda personnel at the site (at a service house) helped cleaning every day. Optional service that for a 150-200 dls per day we had kitchen/food supplied, meals prepared and dishes cleaned for our group of 10 guests. Pool and tennis/pickle ball functional with equipment in good condition at our disposal. Very peaceful site with excellent views. The only thing to consider as a negative is that the site around is not to walk around. Either you have to come with your car or use the town taxi. Taxi charges around 5 dls to pick you up to get to town. The service personnel helps setting your transport out. Getting back to the Hacienda is easy as there are plenty of taxi in the town.

Wonderful stay at Hacienda Clemente Jacques

Beautiful house with sumptuous grounds (and view) and facilities, and the luxury of extremely attentive host and staff. Nothing was too much trouble. With washing up, cleaning and more besides all included (plus extras such as laundry, cooking and shopping for very modest cost), our stay felt like having a spacious - and very special - boutique hotel to ourselves and our extended family, at not much more than the price that it would have cost for two of us in fact to stay in one. All provided in a very Covid-safe manner. We are already looking forward to the next trip.

Perfect mountain getaway

I come here every winter with my family, and it's just the most perfect places to relax, take walks, swim, admire the view, cook and read. No place like it! Walking distance from the indigenous village of Amatlan and a quick taxi or bus ride to Tepoztlan, with its artesans market, restaurants and mountaintop pyramid. Tons of hiking on all sides!

20 years later... still our favorite Gem!

Almost 20 years ago my Mom came to visit me while I was volunteering in a town nearby. She came upon this amazing gold mine to stay while visiting me. She invited me during my weekend break. We both fell head over heels for this piece of paradise. For the past 20 years she has come back at least once a year. This year for my 40th birthday the most amazing Mom in the world gave me the most wonderful present! Inviting me back, almost 20 years later to spend a dream week: Mom and Daughter. Patricia Hogan, the queen of peace, love and beauty made this all possible! Gorgeous private rooms, refreshing pools after a tennis match and an exhilarating hike in the mountain sun. Fresh brewed coffee every morning while waking up to the humming and tweeting of birds. Complete peace and serenity. There are nice restaurants in town while you enjoy the culture and art. However, save your appetite for when you get back (home). No restaurant can come close to the gourmet culinary delights that await you at Clemente Jaques. Thank You all for your amazing care and attention!

Stunning views and wonderful stagg

Once again spent a magical weekend in the Hacienda. One thing I love are the different places to sit and read and get away from it all. Every one with a gorgeous view. Staff are superb and my did we eat well. Shopping in the market is fun. Highly recommend which is why I keep coming back for R&R.

A magnificent sliced of Mexico's romantic past.

This property is uniquely situated. Stunning views of the surrounding mountains, lush vegetation, a tranquil and beautiful oasis. A wonderful attentive and very well trained staff. I felt pampered and cared for from the moment I arrived. The stone hacienda and grounds are magnificent. It feels as if you have stepped back into another and more romantic era.

A Magical Place

Hacienda Clemente Jacques is truly a magical place. We visited twice in the winter of 2019. The house is spacious and gracious, the staff is amazing, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, and Tepoztlan is truly a Pueblo Magico! You cannot do better than Hacienda Clemente Jacques.

Beautiful and relaxing

We stayed at Villa San Clementito (the smaller of the two houses on the property) and the only thing we didn't like was having to leave. Beautiful and artistically furnished house with wonderful views. The staff insures everything is immaculately maintained and, if you want, will also provide authentic and delicious meals (not to mention the best margaritas I have ever sipped). Both the pool and especially the tennis court are first-rate. The property is ideally situated for walking and hiking. In addition, there are many possible excursions to places such as Cuernavaca or Puebla.

Perfect place to Relax and Enjoy Mexican Charm

As a repeat guest, this Mexican Hacienda never fails to exceed our expectations! The property is very well maintained in all aspects ( grounds, rooms, outdoor living areas etc)- The staff was very friendly and happy to help with any of our needs. We took some friends for the first time and loved the place - I must mention that the swimming pool water was the perfect temperature at all times!! Beautiful views to the mountains - Patty, the owner, terrific hostess - always making sure we were happy and comfortable! Patti recommended a couple of great Restaurants in Tepotztlan ! Climbing the Tepoz mountain is a must!

My favorite place on this earth!

I have visited Hacienda Clemente Jacques for about 10 years in a row and each time I am amazed by it. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. The bedrooms are comfortable and homey, the staff are incredible, the food is unforgettable, and the location is unparalleled. This is the perfect vacation spot for the young and old and I cannot speak more highly of my experiences there.

Magical Oasis

This hacienda is just outside of town which makes you feel like you are in the middle of the mountains, a secluded little next for one to relax, spend quality time with friends and also go to town for some street food or to hike. The architecture of the house is breath taking as well as the views and the various common spaces and little nooks one can relax in. Spent a lot of time reading on the hammock and swimming in the pool, soaking up the sun.

Heaven on earth!

If you are looking for heaven on earth, this is it. The villa is unbelievably accommodating, from its gracious layout to its marvelous staff. We have been going for years and always look forward to it. Tepoztlan is incredibly charming, and wonderful adventures abound nearby, from the colonial city of Puebla to Aztec ruins. A perfect vacation spot.

About the host

Hosted by Patricia Hogan

Host profile image
I came to Mexico in 1976, intending to be here for two years, and I am still here. I have managed the first relocation company in Mexico for all this time, helping executives move their families to this wonderful country. We have used that same experience to provide a unique hospitality in Tepoztlan.

Why they chose this property

What could be more relaxing than waking up as the sun comes over these magical Tepoztlan mountains? From the first visit out here, as guests of the original adventuresome owner, Clemente M. Jacques, we knew it was where we wanted to visit often. When one day in 1987 he came to our home in Mexico City and said he wanted to sell and he wanted to sell to us, well, it took about 10 minutes of discussion to say 'yes!'
