An Intimate getaway or affordable family gathering, the first floor of our island home is perfect for your carefree tropical vacation. The tidy and serene studio is arranged as a separate and independent living space and can accommodate two couples or a family of four. The airy, comfortable studio invites sights and sounds of a tropical paradise. Three sets of French doors frame your view of the surrounding mountain landscape. Enjoy basking in the splendor of the outdoors on the spacious wrap-around deck. Our grotto-inspired bathroom evokes the island’s history of stonework and exemplifies our love affair with outdoor living. Sun-drenched yet private, the enclosed shower offers a luxurious bathing experience.

Situated on level ground makes for trouble-free access and parking. The local grocery store, mail service, and restaurants, including local landmarks Skinny Legs, Johnny Lime and Indigo Grill are all within easy walking distance. Enjoy plenty of nightly entertainment--a simple 5-minute walk. Yoga and pilates classes convene a short walk from the house. Catch the VITRAN, the island shuttle bus, to world-class beaches for the day, hike the many trails on the eastern end of St. John, or head to the bustling town of Cruz Bay--for a dollar. Bars and restaurants, quaint boutiques and island ferry excursions are all conveniently located to the studio.

Miriam & Sam are great hosts that communicated well from start to finish. Great property right off Centerline Road. Definitely need SUV and preferably 4WD. Jeep 4WD rentals companies are steps away from the ferry dock at STT. Only cautionary comment is to bring industrial strength DEET 40% insect repellent. The no-see-ems on St. John and parts of St. Thomas are tough. Overall, we loved our vacation.

So cute and comfortable. Love the open air through all the screen and wrap around porch. The bathroom is so fun - love it being outside. Marcia was a great host - always ready to help with anything, if necessary. A real pleasure to stay at her place. Will definitely be back!

Anniversary trip

My husband and I had such an enjoyable experience here. I was a little nervous about the outdoor bathroom but it was quite private and now I want an outdoor shower. 😁🚿 The location is great and easily accessible to everything. The kitchen has all of the amenities you need to make any meal. The King size bed was very comfortable. The property manager was very nice and helpful with our “issue” of wanting the shower water cooler (our issue, not an issue with the rental). All in all, a wonderful anniversary trip.

A true island home experience!

We loved this place, it was even better than expected. Marcia and Whitni were both very helpful and friendly. The house is ideally located in Coral bay, short drive to the beach. My kids loved their stay there.

Coral Bay Gem

What an amazing place! Marcia's warm hospitality and attention to detail made this the perfect stay for our family. Kitchen is well stocked with amenities for preparing meals from morning coffee to a grilled dinner. Coral Bay restaurants are in immediate distance if you want to go out to eat or drink or shop at the local grocery store. The outdoor bathroom and shower are so refreshing after a day at the beach! And the porch! Our 9 year old did not miss a tv as we spent evenings on the porch, enjoying the island breezes and playing board games and with toys provided at the property. Roosters and goats can be heard at all times of the day but that's what a true STJ experience is all about. We can't thank Marcia enough for making our stay and STJ vacation absolutely perfect and we can't wait to get back!

The getaway of our dreams

Our stay in Marcia's studio was everything we were looking for. The house was just perfect for our little family and had everything we needed. Marcia was so gracious and very attentive. She brought over a beautiful Gibson guitar when she learned that I played which was such a treat. Marcia's was very informative and helpful in navigating the island and all that it had to offer. The outside tiled shower was one of our favorite features. Such a cool space! We will definitely be returning.

Great Coral Bay Property

Marcia is the best host! Place is cute open air house. Perfect week stay! Views are nice, sunrises beautiful, perfect for making in house meals. Excursions and restaurants right near you.

Breezy Ocean View Vacation

I really enjoyed staying upstairs at this location. The apartment was well stocked with everything you need to enjoy your Coral Bay experience. Close to good restaurants and secluded beaches. Remote and less visited snorkel and sunbathing spots nearby. Hike to the Northshore, grab a bus to the Southshore or drive east to Haulover Bay. The ever present mosquitoes can be eliminated inside with the supplied “Zapper” but sitting at the loo outside requires that you are adept at swatting the buggers when they come. The shower is lovely and cooking meals is easy. Covered porches with chairs and tables provide wonderful relaxation spots. Spent nine days in December and slept well with netting and fans.

True island home experience!

Loved this place! True island style home experience with everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. Unplug and get connected in this very quiet, rural Coral Bay neighborhood just a short drive to many amazingly beautiful beaches. Nature abounds in this place! Donkeys, goats, chickens, lizards and the neighborhood cat are all part of the experience of the real St. John. Owner and property manager were a pleasure to communicate with, very friendly and accommodating. Everything was very accurately described and was exactly what we were looking for. If you want a fancy hotel then this isn’t for you. I honestly think you’ll get more out of St. John by staying in a place like this. Stunning island cottage, perfect for myself and my two teenage sons. We can’t wait to come back!

Coral Bay Stay

Marcia is a truly lovely person and wonderful host. She is quick to communicate and shared lots of tips and suggestions about St John to make our time special, and was even able to provide beach items like chairs, coolers, and umbrellas. The property was clean and spacious, well ventilated, and well cared for and we’d happily stay again. Enjoy!

30 year anniversary trip

This property and manager were great!! We loved staying in Coral Bay....much quieter and much less less hectic!! Be sure to check out Lucy’s on Thursday nights for open mic night where all the locals hang out! Manager lives next door.....she is available if needed but leaves you alone! Very relaxing vacation!!

Cute Little Spot

Great Little spot. Cute house very clean with two separate studios, one on each floor. Nice view, covered porches. Road was a bit rough and we did have some sand flies and a few mosquitos in the bathroom.. But that said great spot, good location, fun little neighborhood, would stay there again.

Nice, clean, easy access to everything in coral bay

We stayed in the lower level for a few days. It is like an 'efficiency', everything in one room, except the bathroom - which is all outside. We'll miss sleeping with the tropical breezes coming in from the screened doors, and waking up with the sunrise over the bay. You are close to 'town', which you could walk to via the path. It is not very private, the neighbors and landlady are right next door, and with all open screen windows, you can hear everyone making breakfast in the morning etc. The road down is a bit rough, but is considered good by St. John standards - you'll want something with 4WD if you are coming to this side of the island anyway. The landlady, Marcia, was available to answer questions as needed. We ate out at Skinnys, Pickles in Paradise, and Aqua Bistro and were happy with the food everywhere - the kitchen is well-equipped and we ate in a few nights too. We preferred hanging out in coral bay to the busier cruz bay, and did some great hiking on the island.

Really, really wanted to love it here...but those dogs barked all night.

I really wanted to love it here. The location is perfect and the views are amazing. The living space is okay (the only cushy place to sit is in bed), but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, sleep does not come easy at this location. I should've know when there was a large dispenser of ear plugs next to the bed that something wasn't quite right. Be forewarned: the neighborhood dogs bark ALL NIGHT LONG. There was an owners book located in the house, which stated: that the dogs would bark "for 5 minutes" (nope - it went on all night long) that the neighbors may fight (they didn't, but the story within made us chuckle) and that you should turn on music and/or use a fan to help drown out the noise (neither of which was enough to drown out the incessant barking). And since there are no traditional windows, just ceiling to floor screens with storm shutters and no a/c, closing said storm shutters to help with noise reduction was not an option. Those dogs barked all. night. long. every. single. night. I don't mind the roosters going off at all hours, they are just doing what roosters do. But the complete lack of consideration by the neighbors in this area left me regretting my lengthy reservation. Also, we were here for 10 nights, and once the toilet paper was gone, we were expected to "get our own". So again, you get what you pay for. We also washed our own linens and were expected to only do one load of laundry in our time there or be charged additional $$ for a cold-water wash. The outdoor shower was great, but the toilet is also outside, and the mosquitoes will find you there in the early morning hours...and they are hungry! We did enjoy the 2 cats that roam the property, and they were friendly and a pleasant reminder of home. The donkeys and goats on the island were entertaining and we enjoyed sitting on the wraparound porch watching them graze in the adjacent lot. We were here during off season and were happy to learn that Skinny Legs was open on Sundays and enjoyed a burger & some football with the locals. So, all this being said, we personally just couldn't sleep and it made for some cranky mornings, but if you are a heavy sleeper, you won't have any problems in that regard. The island is recovering nicely, and we love St. John. This was a great centralized location for all of the snorkeling and hiking we did. You MUST have 4-wheel drive to get to this home, even the caretaker didn't want to drive her car on the road to this home...

We had an extended stay at Island Vibe, and Island Garden. Both were excellent studio units, very clean and well-equipped. After staying on St. John for many years, and preferring to not rent a car, we have found Coral Bay to be our favorite spot. Marcia's units are a short walk to the bus stop, 2 grocery stores, and several very nice restaurants. We could also access many of our favorite hiking trails from this location. I would recommend highly any of Marcia's units. She takes excellent care of them, and is a gracious and caring host.
