Always love staying on Eucalyptus - it's nice not to have the noise and hassle from gas golf carts and cars. Proximity to Von's is handy as well. Not a great place if you want to cook (kitchen is tiny enough that you can't cook and open the front door at the same time). Roof deck is nice but there's a sewer vent up there that can sometimes make the experience unpleasant. Appreciated the available beach chairs and umbrellas. Overall, a nice stay for a week.

Nice location and plenty of room to sleep!
I enjoyed our stay. I gave private remarks to our hosts and hope that they take our suggestions seriously for their next guests.
This properly is perfect for a small group or family with children who sleep in bunks. Conveniently located behind Von's. On a pedestrian only street so it is more quiet than many.

Clean House, but Small and Dark
To access the house, you walk down a narrow walkway past an outside washer and dryer. The front door is a dutchdoor and is noisy when opened and closed at night.
The bottom floor has few windows and is fairly dark. There are tenants living above the first floor. They can be heard walking around and moving things especially at night when you're trying to sleep. The unit is well stocked with towels and blankets and dishes. Two bedrooms and baths and kitchen downstairs, a narrow bunkbed room on the second floor. Tenants share the second floor behind a locked door. They enter their unit via an outside stairway. A large porch on the top floor has nice views. The outside uncovered washer has a very strong soap odor when the tenants are using it and when the front door of the unit is open.
We had a great time although we had to leave two days early due the tropical storm. Everyone with boats had to evacuate the marina.
House is totally stocked with everthing one would need...that was a plus
We had a wonderful time. We were really close to the beach and attractions. Also close to Vons. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. The host even let us enter early which was a great help.
Been coming to Catalina since I was little, so I know the charm of the island. Al's place was great and exactly what I expected from the listing and the description.
Al was a great and generous host, was extremely flexible and was very willing to work with us when we arrived after we had a small issue. He acted quickly to make sure the place was perfect for our stay.
The road in front was private and safe for kids and families during the day or evening. The rooftop deck, spiral staircase and dumb-waiter were all pretty cool. All of this made the stay less 'noisy' as Avalon can be if you are staying right on a busy street. There was a golf-cart available during the time we stayed, and we really appreciated the opportunity to use it. The location is close to Vons so you can get groceries or refreshments for your stay. The rooms and arrangements will make it so couples and individuals can be comfortable up to about 8 people (as long as you are ok with bunk beds). Having two bathrooms was excellent and both were spacious, well equipped and lighted well. The Wifi worked wonderfully and the living and dining spaces were spacious and comfortable.
All in all, we had a great trip and would stay at Al's place again! Thanks!

Outdated but nice upper deck
Cute but outdated. Nice upper deck but sprial staircase is a little difficult. Master bedroom comfortable bed...twin beds down stairs bedroom were uncomfortable and lumpy. Management were nice and flexible with early check-in.
This apartment was on such a friendly no vehicle street. The taxi service picked us up fast at the end of the street though and got us to all the fun activities we planned. The photos were almost accurate except that...it seemed bigger in real life. Oh and Yes, the rooftop patio was really a nice addition. I absolutely recommend this place.
Great location! Easy walking to restaurants, activities, and shops. View from the rooftop deck was nice — good place to enjoy a meal or to just relax. We enjoyed using the dumbwaiter, so nostalgic! The property is located on a quiet street that is closed to auto traffic and contained most everything we needed. Booking and communication was straightforward and easy. The owner was readily available for any questions we had. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this property.

This property is very clean, comfortable, well decorated, and user friendly. A great place to stay for my family of 6. Super close, walking distance, to a grocery store, restaurants, shopping, the beach and Green Pier. Perfect location for everything you want to do in Avalon. The rooftop patio is fun to lay out on, or bbq and eat meals.
It was perfect. Quiet pedestrian only street. Our family owns a home on this street and we all come together for vacation annually. We will stay here again.
Bed we slept in was comfortable. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Rooftop was great to relax on, dumb waiter was used often. Only thing I would have liked was a washcloth. Neighborhood was great, very nice people!

Nice host, decently clean (it is Avalon after all and the homes are from the 50s/60s). It is a little dark inside, very few windows. Thank goodness for the roof deck, but I would have preferred a larger living room with light and perhaps a dining room or place to play games. It's a back house, so the entry/walk way was cluttered with junk and an old washer/dryer. No street charm for sure. Teens didn't have a problem at all though and enjoyed deck.
I started coming to Catalina with my family as a child. It has always been been one of my fondest memories. My friend's family also had a house here which I was invited to stay several times. I started coming over with my own boat and bringing my kids over to Catalina when they were little. As they grew the boat seemed smaller and my wife did not like to sleep on the boat. I purchased the place 5 years ago and since restored the units to their original condition plus a few upgrades. The unit I have for myself is super clean and should be the perfect place for you and your guests during your stay in Avalon. The Master Bedroom with King Bed. Private Bath located off Master bedroom. No bathtub, shower only. Located downstairs.
Second Bedroom with two twin beds.
Additional bath located off kitchen downstairs. Shower only, no bathtub.
Third bedroom upstairs with two sets of bunk beds.
Note:This rental has real beds to sleep six comfortably. Many other advertised rentals for six may count fold out couches ( for two) and other temporary beds to make up six person count.
Catalina has become a perfect vacation spot for me and my family as I do not usually get to take a long vacation as an owner of a small business.
