About this property
Urban Birdhouse Downtown Greensboro Tiny House ADU
This tiny home was built by a local non-profit who's purpose is to build skills and reduce homelessness. We love their mission and their work and their people. We purchased this model tiny home from them in the fall of 2021 and modified it to be a permanent accessory dwelling until behind one of our other guest homes. IT is tiny but has everything you need for a tiny life experience long or short.
This is a tiny home located behind a main home and is an accessory dwelling unit located in a super urban location. Traffic and ambulances pass by and downtown Greensboro is within walking distance as are the city bus and urban trail system. It is a very busy road in front of the main house.
You have full access to the whole tiny house. The yard is mostly used for parking but there is a deck that is just for tiny house with two chairs and a small table.
We live in the brick house on the corner so please say hey if you see us or if you need something you don’t see readily available.
This tiny house sits behind a single-family home on a busy street within walking distance of downtown Greensboro. Cone Hospital and Wesley Long are less than 5 minute drive. GTA bus picks up on Hill St, a skateboard park, and an urban trail system. This home is in the Idlewood Neighborhood of Greensboro which has mixed residential and multifamily homes primarily built in the 40s and 50s. Wendover Ave is a busy road on one side of Idlewood, Bessemer Ave. runs through the middle of the neighborhood and the battleground is on the other side creating a wedge-shaped neighborhood.
Idlewood neighborhood is located between Westerwood, Fisher Park, Latham Park and Old Irving Park and within walking distance of Downtown Greensboro and Cone Hospital. Greensboro has public transit stops within the Idlewood neighborhood and surrounding areas. There is an urban trail for pedestrians and non-motorized rides.
Thank you for being a respectful guest in our home. Trash cans are beside home. Green is trash, brown is recycling, gray is yard waste only. Please no plastic bags in the recycling can. The backyard is a shared space and the grill on the deck of the tiny home is shared with all of the homes.

About the host
Hosted by Joy Watson
Creating temporary spaces for people to feel welcome and comfortable makes me happy. I am a former Special Education Teacher, a licensed NC Realtor, master gardener, and am working with our local school district to help students with learning differences to learn life and job skills by helping to run our small business. Eric plays piano and is a review software sales rep. We both love live music, gardening, and the five kids we have between us. We love to thrift and invest in other small businesses.
Why they chose this property
We love Tiny House Greensboro because they have the same love for veterans we share with high school kids from our local school district.
What makes this property unique
We are working to build a business that supports domestic arts education in our Greensboro community.
