This was my second stay in this rental. It was wonderful! There was a minor problem with cleaning because I asked to check in early at the last minute, but that resolved swiftly when I called. Jean-Michel was wonderful to work with! There is plenty of heat, hot water, kitchen supplies, and the home is a combo of modern and rustic charming. I highly recommend staying here! I love all the windows that allow for wildlife viewing. Already considering next year’s visit!
We spent a week visiting friends and family and were really comfortable in the home. It offered any amenity that you would need and is in a great location. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
It stated that the property is cleaned after every guest, but all the bedding smelled like a wet dog, and we found long dog hair on the floor and sofas (our dog is a poodle mix - non shedding and short-haired).
The bedrooms were hot, because air conditioning was only available in the living room.
The only shower had a broken handle and we had to use the pliers (conveniently left next to the bath) to turn the water on and to adjust the temperature.
We liked the floor plan and the kitchen - it was clean and stocked with enough dishes, cups and utensils..
Sweet space, well-stocked and nice open living and kitchen area. We enjoyed watching birds eat from the bird feeders and a family of deer graze in the meadow and along the edge of the woods! The location was situated well for accessing nearby hiking and is not far from scenic Hudson landmarks. Excellent quiet place to relax and take things at your own pace.
We had such a lovely stay!! So peaceful and quiet and yet not far from grocery store and a town center. The property is so spacious and yet unbelievably comfy. 10/10 even with the rainy weather we had. Communication with the host was instant and easy. One tiny thing was the internet connection got spotty our last day (we assume cause of the weather) but we had plenty of books and games to occupy us! We’ll definitely be coming back!
This is a beautiful location next to the Shawangunk mountains and near plenty of hiking and wildlife watching. The host was very responsive to our needs. We really enjoyed our time and would love to go back.
The place was very clean and cozy. Check in was easy and owner was very nice who we ran into on our way in. Huge windows really enhance the experience and get you close to nature. Will be coming back and booking for longer!
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here! It was one of the best rentals I have stayed at - everything was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked, there were extra blankets to snuggle under at night if wanted, plenty of heat and hot water and loads of peacefulness! If you’re expecting the marble and chrome look, this might not be for you, but if you want modern with a touch of comfortable country quaintness, this is perfect! I would 10/10 stay here again!
Very clean and spacious. Great views from floor-to-ceiling windows. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances and utensils. The owner was exceptionally responsive to questions. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give a rating of 10 for communication. Getting in on arrival was easy. The roads in the area are two lanes and unlit. Someone unfamiliar with the area should use a GPS and drive slowly.
I stayed at this house for three nights while my dog and I were competing at an event at the Ulster County Fairgrounds.
This gorgeous house is very comfortable. The pictures don't quite do it justice. Master bed is very comfortable which is something you don't always get at a VRBO. If it's cold while you're there (I had a cold snap), the heating keeps everywhere perfectly comfortable. Kitchen is well-stocked. Master bedroom closet had extra blankets if what's on the bed isn't what you want (I don't like duvets but there was a perfectly lovely blanket just waiting for me.)
Property is very dog-friendly, with a large crate if you need it. Neighborhood is very quiet, but not great for dog walking due to the narrow road with fast car traffic and no sidewalks. The property does have an ample yard, however, so you will have plenty of green space for potty trips. Fortunately for those who want to walk your dog, there are a TON Of great places to walk nearby, including proper hiking trails, or rails to trails places if that's more your speed, and a lovely college campus to explore if hiking trails are muddy.
I would absolutely stay again. Awesome host was quick to answer questions and very friendly.
Great place to stay but be aware the road right outside the house is busy… lots of road noise. Otherwise the place is great and comfortable. It could use and upgrade on both mattress’s. They have seen a fair amount of wear.
Great place to stay. Quiet and comfortable. Wish the Mountain View was not blocked by the trees. But that’s not a big deal, still pretty view around the house.
This house has an almost Zen-like feeling to it, nested in nature with the trees, birds, and beautiful views. Inside the house, a lot of natural woods and large windows which bring the natural environment inside. There's a very spacious feeling in the house. Jean-Michel is a great host, very responsible and personal. A great place for us to relax and wind down after our busy days.
We had a wonderful stay at this vacation rental. It was spacious, clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect for enjoying nature and tranquility. We highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the countryside.
