About this property

Gorgeous Deck View of Pike's Peak in Secluded Forest- 8 Acres; Excellent Reviews

Enjoy a tremendous view of Pike’s Peak mountain along with abundant wildlife in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. This newly-remodeled vacation rental home sits at 9,200 feet adjacent to the Pike National Forest. The cabin is perfect for couples, a family, several couples,, or anyone wanting to relax in the mountains any season of the year. This location allows guests to step out of a private mountain home into eight acres of alpine forest, with a short walk to a national forest. This vacation spot offers the best of all worlds; a comfortable home base for relaxing, exploring, and sightseeing, with the conveniences of home; a forest playground; plus the amenities from nearby cities.

This home is equipped with satellite TV both upstairs and downstairs. The two big screen TVs and DVD players are great for watching movies. Visitors will also enjoy the high-speed wireless internet access and the unlimited phone service for both local and long distance calls.

This is an immaculate home with new beds, furnishings, and appliances. The driveway goes to the front door. The cabin features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with adjacent dining room, a great room upstairs, and a cozy family room in the lower level. The kitchen, great room, and dining room are open for comfort and convenience. Both the upstairs great room and the lower level family room provide great gathering spots with large windows that bring in the sun and make it easy to view the mountains and wildlife.

The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, utensils, dishes, and pans. A propane grill on the deck is available for outdoor grilling. All you need to bring is your food. The washer and dryer are provided with laundry soap and softener sheets. The towels and bedding are washed on high temperatures. The outdoor deck provides an exquisite daytime view of Pike’s Peak and clear nighttime view of the solar system. The backyard forms into a tree-covered valley for exploration and hiking. The wood burning stove will take the chill off a cool evening.

This is a great location for those wanting to explore the outdoors, yet remain close to the city and numerous attractions. The roads are well maintained. If wanting to explore beyond the cabin and surrounding forest, there are a multitude of things to do nearby. The cabin is located 15 minutes from Woodland Park (and 30 minutes from Colorado Springs), which has enough stores to provide about any product or service needed. There are many things to do year round in the Pikes Peak Region in addition to fishing, hunting, hiking, rafting, and skiing. The changing of the Aspen leaves in September is breath-taking. Summer time in the Rockies is unmatched, with average temperatures of 70 degrees, the Aspens in full bloom, and a sprinkling of wildflowers.

Quick Getaway

House was comfortable with lots of space in family areas. Bedrooms were small. More bedside tables were needed. Tight space for luggage in bedrooms, so we put it in the family living area. This location is very far from almost anything and on VERY curvy secluded roads. Too many rules NOT disclosed BEFORE booking. Can only wash 3 loads of clothes during stay. We were washing 3 loads a day for our group from activities we completed and towels needed daily. Do yourself a favor and look for your specific activities and see how far the drive will be from this location.

Loved everything about this place

We had a wonderful stay here. The cabin had so much room and had everything we needed. We felt at home in this place and would love to come back next year. The outside view was breathtaking and it was very peaceful. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

Great Colorado Cabin!

This was a wonderful place to stay in Divide, Co. The property was clean and spacious with a great view of the mountains. Very private location but close enough to stores and restaurants. We had a family of 5 with 3 older teenagers and there was plenty of room for us, with 2 separate living room spaces. Kitchen is well appointed with plenty of dishes, utensils and pots/pans. Great access to hiking trails nearby. I would definitely love to stay here again!

Mountain Retreat!

Looking for a relaxing, comfortable mountain retreat? This place delivered for us! Tucked away in the Rockies with an awesome view of Pikes Peak from the back deck, this cabin was the perfect place for our family vacation! We prepared almost all our meals in the well equipped kitchen, as well as the grill on the deck. The beds were comfortable and there was ample space for eight adults to hang out together. We utilized numerous OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) trails meandering throughout Pike National Forest. These trails are located about three miles from the cabin. We enjoyed watching the deer from the cabin as they feasted on the lush green grass in the large backyard. Day trips to places like the Pikes Peak Cog Railway or Garden of the Gods were about thirty minutes away. We hope to return to this cabin in the future and add new memories!

We wanted a place that was up in the mountains without any immediate neighbors. This place for the bill perfectly. Our family of five (2 adults, 3 teenagers) enjoyed our stay.

Beyond Perfection

Absolutely stunning views from the expansive deck We were able to see the almost- full moon and a breathtaking moon rise with Pike’s Peak in the background I could go into extreme detail but let me just tell you that this house is impeccable. It’s welcoming, it’s expansive, it’s comfortable, it has amazing views from almost every room. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the top floor and one bedroom downstairs The enormous deck has plenty of room for grilling, dining and visiting. Children would love it and the grassy yard-snowman and Angel time would be a blast! We are here in July so there’s no need however the main coat closet has what seems to be everything anybody would need if they forgot mittens or hats or coat or needed bibs or coveralls. I’ve been to a lot of VRBO houses and that’s extremely generous; I’ve never seen anything like that. They are condiments, paper products and other items left by previous guests that are very helpful Absolutely everything is supplied in his house I can’t imagine you would need a thing just bring your toothbrush and it literally is moving ready. The entire house is decorated very nicely. There are several areas where you can sit and visit with family and plenty of room if you need to get away from them Every room has a big closet as well as several closets in the hallway The laundry room off the kitchen has a microwave, an additional sink, and another refrigerator which is great for lots of beverages and snacks The very first day we were there we had a mama a daddy and a baby deer feeding on the hill right outside of the breakfast nook and they were there for almost an hour it was absolutely beautiful. The deer would appear often in the backyard as well. Contact with the owners was flawless they are very kind and understanding and I highly highly recommend renting this house if you can. You are a little ways away from most things but it’s nice - that’s exact idea Sorry for the long review but I could gush about this house forever it was absolutely beautiful and perfectly supplied perfect location just wonderful - we had people for eight for dinner on the deck- we had dinner inside for eight - we had the breakfast nook every morning - it was just beyond perfect I mistakenly thought that my check out time was different than it actually was and the housekeeper and the owners were more than understanding and completely accommodating.

Divide getaway

Had a great stay for 5 days/4 nights. We brought our atv trailer and although we didn’t try to maneuver it down to the house, there is a garage with a short driveway at the top of the property that we could easily park the trailer to go on some day trips. It’s a very quiet property and really enjoyed the deck on the back. Rooms were all comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. Owner provided great communication!! Overall great trip and great place to stay!!

Secluded get away

A secluded place to stay, but close to many popular sights. It snowed quite a bit one night, and it was just beautiful! The property is well maintained and clean. The owner was easy to reach if we had any issues or questions. If you are looking for a secluded spot to stay, this is perfect!

Secluded and peaceful

The property was very clean and beautifully decorated, it had all the amenities. Living room upstairs and big family room downstairs. There were two TV's although we never turned them on, because there were to many things to do. We brought our jeeps and there are many trails nearby. Great property. Very secluded and peaceful with view of pikes peak from the deck.

Comfortable cabin in the woods

We had a lovely stay at this cozy house. Beds were comfortable & kitchen is well stocked. The house itself is a bit out of the way, about 45 minutes from pikes peak & garden of the gods. 20 minutes from the fossilized redwoods at Florissant. We vacationed during a busy time for the Colorado Springs area, so it was lovely to come home to this cozy and quiet cabin after a day of activities.

I took my wife, 12 year old son, and my parents to Colorado for Christmas. The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. The house was very clean and well taken care of and fit all of us comfortably with room to spare. The property was beautiful with wonderful views and hills for sledding. Snowmageddon21

Wife and I took our 5 year old and almost 3 year old twins for our first family vacation. We almost canceled because we saw that there was a chance for up up to 4’ of snow, but figured there was no better place to be snowed in than a cabin in the mountains! Sure enough, we got 18” of snow and spent 3 days at the cabin just relaxing as a family watching the snow! The owners were very accessible and even arranged to have the driveway plowed so we could get out. The pictures don’t do this property justice. Very comfortable and close to al that you could want to do (as long as you aren’t t snowed in haha) we highly recommend this property and look forward to going back!

Amazing home!

We had a wonderful family getaway to Colorado and this home was so nice! We went out during the day but spent our evenings sitting on the deck enjoying the view and talking. We also spent time playing family games. It wasn't the cruise we had planned but it was a really fun family vacation! We saw lots of deer on the property and my husband saw two wolves early one morning when he was driving into town. It's a beautiful place!

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
We are both educators who have always loved the mountains. We honeymooned in Colorado, return every summer, and long wanted to own a home in the Rockies.

Why they chose this property

We have friends living in this area who always raved about the Pikes Peak region. The view of Pikes Peak from our cabin was a selling point; you can watch the mountain change in appearance ten times a day. There is so much to do in this area, particularly within an hour's drive. It's centrally located in Colorado, close to Colorado Springs and Denver, and is easily accessible.

What makes this property unique

Some of the greatest benefits to vacationing here are the simple ones... totally relaxing, watching the hummingbirds and deer, experiencing the daily weather changes, and constantly seeing the mountains. Great fishing is nearby. And of course, the high-speed internet access!!
