My third time at Sundown

I have been visiting Eureka Springs several times a year for over a decade and have now stayed at Sundown cottage 3 times. The location is great and within easy walking distance to everything. Other pros: a full kitchen, nice stone patio in the back, smart TVs, parking right next to the front door, comfy bed. The only small negatives for me would be that I really like having a tub and there’s a shower only and I barely had enough hot water for a shower. There is also a lot of street noise being right on Main St but luckily it was never an issue overnight while sleeping.

Great Location Close To Historic Downtown

The location was great, just on the edge of all the action. It’s on the main road so there is some noise, but it’s to be expected. We did have an issue with the electronic lock. No response at all from the “message the host” on the app but after we called the number listed we were given the code to get physical keys out of lock box. Problem solved. Communication through the app could be improved.Keep in mind that there is very little privacy in either bedroom. If we had been traveling with another couple it might have been awkward because you have to walk through one bedroom to get to bathroom or second bedroom. Could use a little insulation, it’s a little drafty but it’s an older home so again, expect it. There were a few spiders so it could use an exterminator also but it’s Arkansas, you’re going to see some spiders.Overall great stay, convenient, and comfortable. Worth the price.

Great location and place for girl friends trip

The house is small and cutely decorated and great location to walk into town to shop and eat and catch up with friends. We had some issues checking in with the Schlage lock but the rental service staff were prompt and helpful to resolve it. I would say that there is not any real privacy between the two bedrooms so this place is better suited for two friends rather than couples. Also there are steps down to the one bathroom that can be a safety hazard for falls going to bathroom at night. Easy fix with some reflective tape.or lights.

Great spot close to everything

I come to Eureka twice a year for big events so I always want to stay close into town so I can walk everywhere and not fight to find parking. The location of this cottage is great. There is quite a bit of road noise being on the Main Street but it didn’t bother me at night sleeping in the back bedroom. I love having the Roku TV, cute back porch area, USB plugs built in, full kitchen, comfy bed, dedicated close parking spot. I’ve already booked my next stay at the cottage.

Locks need replacing. Get a new cleaning service.

In a review dated 3/16/2024, the traveler had problems with the electronic lock. This problem still has not been fixed. Tired travelers do not need to be burdened with accessing a rented property. Contacted the phone number given and was provided with another code to enter. It still did not work. 2nd call, was given the original code. Somehow was able to “jimmy” the door after entering the code, but was afraid to leave not knowing if we could get back in. 3rd call, was given a code for the lockbox to get an actual key. Code did not work. 4th call, was given the correct code and lockbox opened for keys which we had to use to enter in and out of the back door which was the bedroom. Key worked on doorknob, but not deadbolt. Entire locking system needs to be replaced on this property. Location is good and cottage was cute and comfortable, but not properly cleaned. Ceiling fan in bedroom and standing fan in sleeping area had not been dusted in months. Cobwebs behind TV had been there a while, shower curtain was NASTY even though another reviewer reported it. Really--do you not have the $$ to keep a clean shower curtain at all times?? Killed a few insects also, so the property needs to be sprayed. For these reasons, I gave the property and management company a low review.

Great location!! Cute, Unique Decor

The location is perfect. Walk to all the downtown stores. Off street parking for 1 vehicle. Outdoor area not really usable as it was too dirty. 2 bedroom (you walk through one to get to the other but we didn't mind that). Full kitchen. A few dishes and a couple pans but if you plan on doing a lot of cooking might not be enough. If they get better cleaning service this place would be great as it has a lot of pluses.

Get a new lock system

Cottage inside is good, outside it is hard to walk on sidewalk and cross the street. Motorcycles kept us awake at night. Their big hangout just a block away.

Cute Cottage very close to downtown

I loved that this was close to downtown and discovered The Cat House which was a great place for drinks and food. Parking is tough downtown and is paid parking so being able to walk downtown made it a much better experience. Be advised that the 2nd bedroom is not private but it worked for me and my guest.

Great little Cottage

We always love our stay at this cute little cottage. Has all the amenities & comforts of home. It’s so close to downtown & close to everything. We love the late night walks through town. Love having full kitchen to cook & be able to eat in. We will continue to come back & enjoy the Sundown Cottage. Thank you!
