Columbia River Marathon

This property was perfect for our party. We walked downtown for meals and the race. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our group of four but will accommodate more. The communication with host was great. Others have mentioned the temperature control issues. It must have been fixed because we had no issue. Doors and stairs were squeaky.

Cozy, charming home with an unbeatable location

It was our first time in Hood River and the town is so quaint! The house was located within walking distance to everything but also felt private. It’s a gorgeous craftsman that has been remodeled with contemporary amenities without losing its charm. The kitchen was giant and we enjoyed cooking all our meals there. The living room is so comfortable and cozy and perfect for game night or movie night. We had 5 adults and the sleeping was ideal. All 3 bedrooms were gorgeous and comfortable. And we enjoyed drinking our coffee in the morning on the porch overlooking the town and the Columbia. We will absolutely be back!

Perfect stay in Hood River!

This charming restored home right in the mix of Hood River was the perfect home base for our 2-day adventure. We walked just 4 minutes to Double Mountain Brewery for amazing pizza and a great beer selection. We walked a few short blocks to Doppio Coffee (ask for a bee sting!) and Bette’s (giant cinnamon buns) and Mike’s Ice Cream. A longer walk or a super quick drive to the River Park to watch the wind surfers. This house was a great place to park the car and get out into the Hood River community. We loved the classic charm with beautiful modern updates. Our group of 6 was more than comfortable in the 3 bedrooms, and easily shared the one shower in the downstairs bath. The kitchen has great counter space and we found all the cookware and tableware we needed. The washer/dryer was a huge bonus!! We’d definitely stay here again.

Casa de Couch Coziness

We LOVED this house! Great remodel to an old classic Hood River home. Walked to coffee every morning and easy walk to the Children’s Park. AC was a great add, kitchen island was great, the whole thing worked really well! Oh, and off street parking is a homerun! Thanks!

Amazing location

I wish we would have had a bake-off with the 4 ovens, but instead enjoyed the town of Hood River and our conference. The location was great and this house was welcoming and upscale. It was perfect for a retreat.

3 bedroom up, 1 bathroom in "master"? bedroom. Inconvenient for others using bathroom downstairs. TV in mainroom, 4 remotes. No explanation of how to use or what primary tv service we were supposed to use. I was able to do chromecast and use my service. How many others would have been able to use similar? Liked, first rate appliances, roomy, good rate.

Great location and views

Couple blocks from downtown for easy walking everywhere. Road a little busy but quiet at night. The kitchen was amazing, too bad we didn’t make any dinners. Super easy check in and out process.

Nice old house with a few quirks…

The pros: Recently remodeled older house only a few blocks from downtown Hood river. Amazing location to everything downtown! The kitchen had the best appliances I’ve ever seen in a rental (there was 3 ovens, huge fridge and stove range!)They put a lot of money into the house and it definitely helped give it a more modern feel. They provided lots of cozy blankets, bedding and towels. Cons: The bathroom situation is less than ideal. There are three bedrooms on the second floor , but there is only one bathroom up there and it is located inside one of the bedrooms (not shared). The occupants in the other two bedrooms have to walk downstairs every time they need to use the restroom at night. The downstairs bathroom doesn’t have heat/cooling, so it is pretty cold in the winter. Taking a shower was a chilling experience because the low flow shower head didn’t really produce enough water flow to keep you warm in that cold bathroom. The floors and especially the stairs are very creaky (loud!). Every time someone got up to use the bathroom at night, the whole house was made aware of it. Even white noise didn’t help us sleep through it. The house is heated by a multi-head mini split (there is a head in each room, and two heads downstairs). The rooms had more than enough heating capacity so we pretty much turned off the heat in the rooms after the first evening. The downstairs though took most of two days to warm up to a comfortable temperature. Probably would have been helpful if the housekeepers had turned on the heat a day or two in advance so that floors and other surfaces had time to warm up. The downstairs bathroom has no heat, so we had to keep the door open as much as possible, but it never got comfortable. The other dilemma we ran into was the lack of any hooks in the house. We had to pile 6 people’s worth of wet winter clothes on the entry way floor. The bathrooms and bedrooms also had no hooks so our towels had to hang in odd places throughout the house.
