Thanksgiving Stay
We really enjoyed our stay. The lights were on and there was nice music playing as we entered which was very welcoming. The living area and kitchen were open with an added bonus of having large wrap around windows. It was well decorated and comfortable. The proximity of the rental was very convenient to Cashiers and Highlands. We would love to rent this property again in the future.

Lovely home with perfect setting for adults who can’t use stairs! My 92-year-old parents managed this one level home perfectly and the split floor plan worked beautifully for our family and them. Responsiveness outstanding ! Will be back !

We enjoyed our stay in this mountain home between Christmas and New Years. It was a great location between the Highlands and Cashiers, NC. Located in a quiet, nice neighborhood setting. The home was well equipped and comfortable.

Nice
Beautiful house and town but we rented this property for one month, it is too long for us. When we walked into the house first time the rusty smell was so strong we hardly can breath, after we called property manager next day, they came to solve the problem. Overall we enjoyed it.

July in Highlands
Grands could not fish in lake as it was too grown up to get near. The property had a mouse and all food needed to be stashed in microwave at night. Nothing done by management. Outside decks were very uninviting. Needed cleaning and pressure washing. Furniture was tired.

Close to Wildcat Country Club where we were visiting friends. Not far from both Higlands and Cashie.
I would rate higher, but bed linens were badly stained in one bedroom and both showers needed Drano or cleaning out as water backed up. Overall fine for our group.

Nice property
We enjoyed our stay, however, wish they had arranged the two masters with the updated bathrooms instead of having one of the king beds in the smaller bedroom with original bath. Also, no tv in living room with fireplace which would have been nice.

Amazing stay!
We had the best experience at this property for a family vacation to celebrate the new year! Property was well located, close to the town but still in a private area that was very quiet. Extremely clean. Contact with property manager was seamless. Would return!!!

Cozy yet spacious home with wrap around view of nature
We loved our short Christmas stay at this home. The gas fire place and the wood burning stove kept us warm on the snowy nights. Perfect layout for spending time with family yet the second living area made it perfect for those who wanted some space. This home was stocked with all the towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap and even hand soap. That saves a lot of money and a lot of time packing! It’s a quiet and beautiful area. We absolutely loved it.

Very comfortable home.
I was under the impression that the house was actually on a lake but it was really over looking what I would call a small pond. The location was good, close to Highlands and Cashier. A short ride to several water falls. I highly recommend the Botanical GARDENS IN Highlands. The house was very comfortable but we had bad weather and there is no covered porch so we were stuck inside. It rained every day we were there.

Excellent stay!
This house was perfect for our needs. Three large bedrooms, two with master bathrooms, the third was just outside the bedroom. Full kitchen with everything you need. Keurig was there. Washer and dryer were there. Beds and other furniture were comfortable. Deck with BBQ grill were great. Cable TV and very good wi-fi were appreciated (cell service in downtown Highlands and other towns nearby was spotty at best). VRBO and local property management group were responsive and easy to deal with.

Nice house in good location
Pros: The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we liked that it was recently renovated. There are two living areas and a great back porch. We appreciated that the grill came with a full propane tank. There was also a small fire pit for making smores. Our kids loved going down to the small pond and watching the ducks. Location: the house is in a small subdivision. It's about 10-15 minutes from downtown Highlands and 10 minutes to downtown Cashiers. The neighbors are very friendly and it was very peaceful and quiet. Cons: there is no trash pickup. You have to bring your trash to a collection site about 5 minutes up the road. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was inconvenient and it wasn't disclosed in the listing. Also, if you book through VRBO, make sure you call the contact and confirm your reservation. We called about 30 minutes prior to arriving to pick up the key, and the rental agency had no record of our reservation. There was some mix-up with the booking platforms. So we were 30 minutes away and thought we had no place to stay. When we arrived to the rental agency, they had sorted it out.

Peaceful mountain getaway
The house was ideal for three separate parties sharing a vacation. There were plentiful supplies in the house so that we could prepare meals. We enjoyed eating on the deck and were never joined by any bears! The location suited us beautifully because we were half-way between Cashiers and Highlands. Hiking in the area was terrific and we saw amazing views of mountain ranges and waterfalls from several summits. Cons: no dish drain; poor lighting for reading because the whole house was dark; no tv in one bedroom; no handicap bars in showers.

Loved the Location!!
We had a wonderful time and loved being right between Cashiers and Highlands!!! The house was very accommodating, and David was great! He came over and showed us how to work the stove when we had a question. ( which we really should have figured out ourselves). But, he just helped us and was very nice. Lovely time!!

Wildwood Mountain
We had a great time in Highlands during our 4th of July getaway. The Wildwood Mountain House was a nice fit for our family. The only two things I would suggest is that they have someone look at the tub in the middle bathroom. It didn’t drain well. Also it was advertised that it had a hot tub and that was not the case. We were fine with it but the description should be updated. The “Lakeview” May be a bit of a stretch although it is technically right. We thought the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels and the kitchen was well stocked. I loved the easy start fireplace. Thanks for sharing your home.

Disappointed
Besides location what brought us to picking this cabin was in the description it said NO PETS bc of allergies. Our family of 4 all have allergies so we thought it was a great pick. We arrived around 3:30 pm after a long drive hoping to relax and make some dinner on our first nite. Upon walking into the cabin we were greeted with a musty smell and a dehumidifier running by the front door. As we were checking out the cabin we noticed dusty everywhere and cobwebs. One of the bedrooms had a stain on the ceiling with a small hole in it. Damp rids all over the place with water in them. My daughter jumped on bed to sit and dust just flew everywhere. We tried to turn on gas fire place in main living area and it wouldn't start. We then reached out to David & Lori who managed the cabin with our concerns. They said they would come by to check it out. Once they got there Lori tried for awhile to get fireplace to turn on while my husband showed David the other things. Lori checked with housekeeper who said she at cabin the Thursday prior to our arrival. David did say he was at cabin an hour before our arrival and turned on dehumidifier. He didn't notice the dust then but did say he saw what we were talking about. It turns out the fireplace had NO gas which means the cooktop had NO gas either. David called gas company and had to see if on call guy could come. So I said well I guess we can BBQ so David checked propane for grill and BOTH tanks were empty. He took one to get filled. At that point we decided we had to go out to eat bc there was no gas to cook and the cleaning lady was coming. Not how we wanted to spend our first nite. We asked Lori if we would be compensated for our troubles and she said she thinks we should but would have to talk to owner. David did come back with propane for grill and gave us a gift card for dinner. We returned later to find cleaning lady leaving. Gas company did show up. We had people in the cabin until after 8 that nite. The hot tub was also broken. They sent someone on Monday to fix it and the internet was not working so someone came on Tuesday. We had several people there to fix things. My husband even reached out to owner to tell him concerns but no follow up since then. Cabin was empty a few weeks prior to our arrival so all of these issues should have been addressed prior to our arrival in my opinion. Things happen of course but not this many things. We spent a lot of money for this cabin too. Very disappointed.

Nice & clean
Getting into the house was easy and we were greeted by a house that was nice & clean. The kitchen / baths were very nice & well done. My wife is a bit of a neat-freak and the house met her expectations. One of our teenagers loves fishing and regularly went down to the nearby lake to fish (he caught some too - and released...). All of us enjoyed the hot tub and overall our vacation was great.

Cool and relaxing
This home is located in a lovely setting close to Highlands and Cashiers. Everything we needed and more was there for us . We spent all our evenings on the deck enjoying the shade and cool breezes. The interior of the house is beautifully decorated, but not overdone. The whole feel of the home is comfortable and relaxing, The owners responded immediately to any questions we had. Overall it was a most enjoyable trip, We would definitely rent this home again.

Great experience in a home that should be on your short list of choices!
A well maintained home, very nicely decorated, clean, warm, and inviting. The owner was readily available and pleasant. Relatively centralized between Highlands and Cashiers, you would be hard pressed to find a better experience with such an accessible location. I have no reservations recommending this home to anyone looking for a worry free experience. And will definitely be an interested party on my next visit to the area

It Doesn't Get Any Better!
We had the pleasure of staying at the Butler's beautiful mountain home for a week - too short for us and wish we had been able to extend our trip even longer (not possible though, as it was booked solid). In a nutshell, the location was superb....in fact, it doesn't get any better. If you are visiting the Highlands area, you will also want to go to Cashiers and this property is conveniently located in Wildwood (a spot with very nice vacation homes) right off the main highway that runs between the two towns. Besides the best location, the house was ideal for either a family &/or several couples....three very nice master bedrooms (good mattresses too), each with luxury private baths (two were oversized), well appointed kitchen/family area with wonderful fire place overlooking nice outdoor deck with Jacuzzis and wonderful mountain view which we throughly enjoyed! Amenities also included a well kept private tennis court - bring your racquets if you play...spectators can enjoy your match sitting at the picnic table overlooking the lake. We didn't try fishing, but we did notice some fishing gear in the laundry room.. .The house was well maintained, very clean - I highly recommend this property - we would definitely book with David again - he is an awesome host. Thank you for a great stay! Katherine Stewart Tampa, Florida
