A bathroom with combination tub and shower and a queen bedroom is also on the main level. This arrangement is perfect for guests who find stairs to be challenging.

Stairs to the upper level take you directly into a designated workspace. To the right is the entry into the upstairs queen bedroom and bathroom suite. This bedroom has access to a private rear balcony with seating. The upstairs bathroom has a jetted bathtub and walk-in shower.

Stairs to the lower level take you to the downstairs game room and hangout area and give you immediate access to the lower-level back porch. Cannot say enough good things about this property & the host! Fantastic location, thoughtfully well appointed property with easy access & great communication. Beautiful

We stayed at Bear Pause for 10 days. It was great!! If you like to be up on a mountain with a great view this is the place to be. The cabin was great!! The beds were very comfortable. I think the best part was how quiet it was sitting outside and relaxing. If you're looking for the fall colors wait till end of October to early November. Thanks again Velma you have a beautiful place!!

Favorite Place to Stay in the Mountains

My wife and I have been heading to the mountains each October for the past 14 years. This is the only cabin in which we've stayed multiple times. It's clean, it's comfortable, it's well appointed, it's conveniently located, and the management is great to work with. Cannot recommend this cabin strongly enough. Our favorite place to stay in the mountains!

Babymoon getaway

We had a very relaxing Labor Day weekend at this beautiful property in the mountains. It was perfect for our babymoon before we become busy parents. The house and location were perfect with breathtaking views. The porch was so nice to relax on and we even enjoyed making s’mores on the on the fireplace out there. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed for cooking and a very nice added touch that they even supplied coffee and creamer various kinds. Overall a 10!

Perfect Place

We stayed at Bear Pause for a few days before we went to a family gathering. We got there pretty late so went straight to bed. When we woke up we were pleasantly surprised at the gorgeous view! We even saw a deer off the back porch. This was probably the cleanest and most well appointed place we have ever stayed. We had all we needed and more. There were instructions for everything so no trying to figure out anything. The grandkids enjoyed playing the arcade machine and board games. Even the view while playing checkers will take your breath. The guest book had great suggestions for things to do in the area and we were not far from a grocery store. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of places to relax. The little touches were appreciated, from the laundry spot remover to the creamers for coffee. The decor was great! We even played a game where we counted the bears used in the decor in the house. I won’t give you the answer but it was more than 40 and some you really have to look for! The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely be staying here again!

Peace and Relaxation at Bear Pause

This is one of the BEST vacation rental experiences we've had in 20 years! It exceeded our expectations. The cabin was immaculately maintained, clean, tastefully appointed with the theme woven throughout every room of the house and without appearing cluttered. The views from the porches were mesmerizing being nestled in the tree canopy on both sides for privacy and long range vistas of undulating mountains, changing cloud formations and glowing sunsets. We enjoyed preparing our own meals in the fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, measuring cups, mixing bowls, baking sheet, casserole dish, blender, toaster, coffee maker, cutting boards, cutlery, cooking oil, spices, apron, pot holders, and more)! While the dining table and chairs were comfortable, we preferred to dine al fresco on the porch picnic table - complete with ceiling fan, lighting, rocking chairs and other chairs. The living room furniture was comfortable and arranged to take in views from 2 sides. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, airy and clean. The jetted tub was perfect for soaking tired muscles after a day of hiking the nature trails in the area. Communication with the host was swift, professional and personable. Thank you for a delightful anniversary getaway! We would love to return one day and will recommend this to others 10 out of 10!

Relax in the mountains

Bear Pause is the most beautiful and well equiped cabin we've stayed in . The entire process from booking to check out was faultless. The cabin is well equiped with plenty of unexpected and thoughtful extra touches. Waking in the morning to bird song and the view across the valley will be a long cherished memory
