Door Failure
Arrived at Condo and after entering, noticed Condo had not been cleaned. Contacted the local contact (Corina) and told her the situation. She was apologetic and said she would get someone to the unit, which she did. On the second night, wife and I decided to go for a walk around the complex. After returning, the combination keypad lock would not work. The battery low notice came up. Called the contact and told her the situation. She would try and work the problem. There was no key solution to get in the unit. We just sat outside and waited for some help. Our car keys and ID was locked in the condo. I asked a neighbor, and he told me there should be a location on the bottom of the keypad to insert a 9 volt battery to get the lock to work. He went home and returned with a battery. We could not fit the battery under the keypad. The door handle was mounted to close to the keypad. I then called the rental adviser for help. After sitting on the curb for an hour, I asked another neighbor if he knew of anything that would work. He asked me if a patio door was unlocked upstairs? The condo was a second-floor unit. I had no idea if anything was unlocked. He went back to his place and returned with a ladder. He went up to the second-floor patio and thank goodness a door was unlocked and was able to let us in. Nice to see that good people still are around. The next morning, someone showed up and changed with batteries in the keypad. The condo itself is dated, needs TLC.
