Truckee Winter Creek House - Newer Development

Looking for a week-long rental or weekend get away? Our newly built house (2015) is beautifully furnished in a Tuscan motiff. It is centrally located to a number of year-around sports / hobby locations including fantastic winter snow skiing at 5 miles from Northstar, ten-minutes to Squaw and Sugar Bowl. If you are into mountain biking riding we have a number of single track and multi-track locations to keep you challenged. Road riders will love the ride to Donner Lake which includes some steep climbing. Hiking is available throughout the area. Donner Lake is minutes away and Lake Tahoe is 13 miles away. Boat rentals available at both locations. We are walking distance from downtown Truckee where you can dine and shop for hours. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, Grand Living room, modern furnished kitchen including Nespresso Coffee Maker (bring your own VertuoLine Capsules) + Keurig Single Cup Coffee Maker (bring your own K-Cup pods) + Full pot coffee maker (Bring Your Own Coffee Grounds), pots / pans / dishes/ glassware and gas BBQ to ensure the 'Foody' in you will be happy. Master bedroom has a shower & tub, plasma TV, Wi-Fi Access. For those who want to work remotely an office area is set up for you. WE HAVE NO CABLE SERVICE. WE PROVIDE ROKU in livingroom and master bedroom. You must add your own streaming sign on to us. Two quest rooms downstairs which both have queen-size beds. In addition, you have an option for an additional cost to convert the garage to a teen 'game room' which includes 2 wall mounted bunk beds that you need to bring your own sleeping bags, floor heaters, carpeted and plenty of room for the kids to play. Bunks are for teens less than 75 lb - not intended for adults. Our rates include a mandatory 13.5% tax required by the City of Truckee (11.5% Transient Occupancy Tax and 2% TTBID Tax on both rental and cleaning rates.) Sorry I too am disappointed with these taxes too! We are a Registered Transient Occupancy Registered Home. Certificate Number 012558. The maximum occupants is 6 people (all ages.) There is a max of 4 parking spaces (2 inside the garage and 2 in the driveway.) There is zero street parking.

Very Nice!

We’ve stayed in several rentals in the neighborhood over the years and this place is by far one of the nicer properties. Well kept and great layout. We are a young family of 5 and we all stayed up stairs comfortably- didn’t even need to use the bedrooms downstairs. Kitchen was well equipped as well. Will be back!

Lovely home nearby to historic Truckee

Very comfortable home; very well stocked kitchen. The owner thoughtfully provides a notebook explaining the appliances & other features of the home, so you feel right at home. Nice gas grill out on the deck and patio furniture as well. We were very fortunate to be able to stay in this home.

Beautiful place

We were in Truckee for a wedding and the house was perfect. We had 1 couple and 2 singles and we all had our own rooms. We added another couple for one night and did some shifting but still had enough room for all of us. Great location. Peaceful, quiet neighborhood. We didn’t do any cooking so can’t review that part. Don’t forget to buy TP and paper towels. Beds were very comfy, nice sheets and towels. And the only negative thing I would say is it would have been nice to have body wash in the showers. Had to go back out and buy that. That said, I would return to this house in a heart beat.

River fun

This was a beautiful house with an amazingly stocked kitchen. They had every appliance you could think of needing. The floor plan is wonderful and spacious. Location was great and neighborhood was wonderful and quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Getaway in Truckee

We had a great time at the Cabin in Truckee. The cabin was (what seemed like) brand new as it was recently re-stained with paint for the upcoming winter. It was clean and comfortable. For those wanting to stay in a quiet upscale neighborhood, I recommend this location. It’s about 20 minutes from the lake. Easy drive. About 90 minutes from Sacramento. Overall great experience. Thank you!

The place was worth every penny. It was relaxing and quiet. And in a great location. Will b back!

Awesome House and Host

The most immaculate house, ever!

If you are looking for the ideal spot in Truckee, in the most organized, clean and functional house you have ever rented, look no further. Aside from the perfection of the property, Michelle was ideal to work with. Responsive, professional and exceptionally easy. While I don't rent on VRBO often, I have rented through many other 'luxury property' sites, most recently down in Pebble Beach and they pale in comparison to working with Michelle and to the organization of her home. Great Winter Vacation Home!!

Really enjoyed the winter getaway! House was great and kid friendly! Able to get in a day of skiing at the very close proximity Tahoe Donner Ski Area. Fun being near downtown truckee.

Great Family Vacation!!!!

My wife and I recently with our 2 teenage boys and have nothing but great things to say about both the property and owners. The cabin was absolutely perfect with all the modern amenities that you could ask for while still keeping the look, feel, and charm of a winter cabin. The dishwasher was not working upon our arrival and the owner had a repairman come out on our second day, fix the dishwasher, and even purchased a couple pizzas for our family for the inconvenience. We would highly recommend this property for anyone that wants the privacy of a high-end luxury vacation rental with the many of the same benefits that you would get from a hotel/resort.

My husband and I have been traveling to the Lake Tahoe area for years. This is our third home we have had in the Truckee area and we love it there. We are avid snow skiers, bike riders and love to raft down the Truckee river plus water ski on Lake Tahoe. Our adult children love to visit and mountain bike ride, hike and enjoy the fine eating establishments in nearby downtown Truckee. We decorated this home to be a sanctuary away from the noise of the bay area. You will immediately relax and look forward to partaking in the numerous activities around the area!

Why they chose this property

My husband and I choose Truckee as a vacation home because it is only 3 hours from the Bay Area. The instant we walk into the home we feel immediately relaxed. No matter what your sport activity likes are, the Truckee area has something for everyone. The city of Truckee always has some sort of festival, Art & Craft show, car show or Music in the park event going on for entertainment. We hate crowds so we didn't want to buy on the Lake area as it could add hours to one's drive. We are easily accessible to all things Tahoe but we don't have to deal with sitting and waiting!!!!

What makes this property unique

It is fun to watch the various wild life wonder into our neighborhood including deer, pheasants, and coyote's. We love to BBQ on our deck and enjoy the quiet of the Truckee area. Of course, the best food is just down the street at Cottonwood, Blue Coyote and Bar's America! Air Conditioning installed.
