The Historic Galloway House overlooks the most beautiful Caribbean beach on Long Island. Perfect location for a secluded holiday. Situated on 5 acres, this home is the perfect base for your Out Island adventures. The beach is powdered sugar white in contrast to the turquoise blue sea. Because of the location on the Caribbean side of the island the waters are calm, swimming pool like. Take a sea kayak from the house down the "Lazy River", remnant of what once was Diamond Crystal Salt Works. The area is now an amazing wildlife area stretching for miles behind the house. Hike the beach in either direction without seeing another soul, true tranquility.
The house is modest yet comfortable. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with open living area and kitchen. If you like to cook the kitchen is well equipped. Comfortable small dining area in the kitchen as well as island seating. Outdoor eating area on the covered patio as well as BBQ. AC and ceiling fans in all rooms. Comfy beds and towels, games, books and internet. Outdoor shower for washing off the sand after a day at the beach.
Covered patio overlooking the sea for sunset cocktails. The property is a bird lovers paradise. Watch the Mockingbirds, Bananaquits, Doves, Herons and Hummingbirds, as you sip your coffee in the morning. You might be lucky enough to have a Flamingo fly over and nesting Osprey are located nearby. Gazebo on the beach for late afternoon naps on the hammock.
The property is less then five miles from Clarence Town, the capitol of Long Island. You will find the most beautiful churches, a small grocery store and bakery as well as a wonderful restaurant at the Flying Fish Marina. Wander the island north or south and you will find the most wonderful Bahamians as well as beautiful beaches, fantastic food and incredible scenery.
