Perfect Austin spot!
The treehouse is charming and clean. The owner is very responsive and attentive. The neighborhood is great! Full of helpful residents, and good food within walking distance. Would sleep 4 comfortably. The price is quite reasonable for the space and convenience. Would stay there again!

Well appointed loft apartment in leafy suburbs of Austin Texas
We had a wonderful week in this loft apartment. It was clean, roomy and airy and met all our needs. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils, pots and pans. The fridge was big and roomy. Cleaning products were also left for our use. In the bathroom there were plenty of towels. Past reviews complained about the sloping ceilings but we got used to them very quickly and they were not a problem. We loved the deck and enjoyed breakfast, sun downers and evening meals on it. There were a few mosquitoes but all the windows and the door have nets so the windows can be opened without letting the mosquitoes in. The air conditioning is very effective but we liked to turn it off and open all the windows. The location of the apartment to downtown Austin is great. It is within walking distance of two bus routes and sometimes when we missed the last bus back at night we walked home and it felt very safe. Paprika was great to communicate with and before our arrival gave us detailed instructions about how to find and access the apartment and where to park the car. We really enjoyed the varied live music scene in Austin which was all free. All in all we had a great time and if we ever return to Austin we will definitely book this apartment again. Cute and Cozy Treehouse!
My friend and I stayed at this little spot and absolutely loved it! The treehouse was very cozy and a perfect size for the 2 of us. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. The area itself has lots of fun and interesting spots close by and just a short car ride to other hot spots. I would definitely stay here again!

Quiet attic in a location close to everything
My stay at this converted attic apartment was great. Quiet, restful. The space is larger than it looks in the photos, although the roof is angled more steeply than I had thought. The full fridge and stovetop were great for making all my meals there, rather than eating out. The location is central to everything, although I'd recommend having a car. A great getaway - clean and quiet with prompt, attentive owners. Thank you!

Quiet, comfortable and clean!!
I'm so glad to have found this unique apartment. It was my first experience with VRBO and I am looking forward to the next one! I was provided clear, explicit instructions to access the property. When I arrived, the place was clean and cool. We enjoyed the deck as the weather was beautiful for our visit and I also enjoyed the bathtub. Found everything we needed in the kitchen and the owner was in touch in case we needed anything. I would highly recommend this location.

Great stay - cool place!
I had a conference downtown and it was a great excuse to get back home to Austin. The treehouse is a charming, unique apartment with plenty of natural light from the skylights. The kitchen was well appointed and my wife especially loved the claw footed tub. The weather only allowed for one night on the deck, but it was very peaceful. I see some reviewers were concerned about the bathroom ceiling, but the slope was not an issue for my wife and I as we are both just under 6'. Check in was very easy and Pete was great to work with. Highly recommend this space!

Incredibly Cute!!!!!
This place is charming! I can't recommend it highly enough. Feels like being in a modern fairy tale. I also love that there are so many cool places Austin within walking or biking distance. When I needed to drive, everything I wanted to see was ten minutes away. That's true of a lot of hotels, but this place is unique and homey. I stayed two nights, and I hope to be back!

Treehouse Apartment was the best ever!!!
We had such a wonderful time staying at Connie's treehouse apartment! It had everything we needed for a great trip. Plenty of room, cold AC(you need that in the summertime in Austin!), great location, and a beautiful view. I will be staying here again when I return to Austin next summer.

Nice place two blocks away from the green belt and very close to downtown. Would recommend to small family or small group. Connie's first aid kit saved my girlfriends life after she feel biking. It's the little things, thanks Connie!

cozy treehouse
This attic apartment is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the eastern portion of Town Lake Park and its trails, which are not as crowded as those on the west side of the freeway. The apartment has a lovely small deck that offers a pleasant sitting and dining spot. Great for couple or individual. Located within a short distance of interesting places on the east side and downtown. We will likely return to it.

The Attic Apartment in East Austin
We had a nice one week stay here. We never cooked any meals here but everything was there if we had wanted to.The owner was helpful and made sure we got settled okay. Keep in mind this is the attic of a house so I would not recommend this if you are over 6 ft tall otherwise you will be bending over a lot especially in the bathroom. The location was perfect being less than a mile from the I35 freeway but you never heard the freeway. We walked downtown several times as the weather was perfect in early November. If you plan to rent a car we suggest you pick it up downtown and not at the airport. We saved a bundle by doing this. The taxi ride late Sat. afternoon was $18 plus tip from the airport to the house. We picked the car up downtown and returned it at the airport without a drop charge. Overall we would definitely stay here again the next time we come to Austin.

Great neighborhood - wonderful owner!
This is a quiet, lovely neighborhood with lots of funky restaurants, walking distance to parks and Lady Bird lake. It's about 2 miles downtown - definitely walkable but best with a car or the public transportation works well. The owner, Connie, is a wonderful hostess - great recommendations on getting around, where to eat, where to walk. Connie even let us use the washer/dryer in the downstairs property when it was vacant. Connie was just super! The apartment is adorable! Be sure to sit outside on the treehouse deck & just kick back. Remember that this is an attic,so the angles in the roof can be a challenge in the bathroom...watch your head. The huge bathtub is perfect for soaking. We ate out all the time, but the kitchen seemed to have everything you need. Connie did a creative and fun remodeling of this unique space. There are plenty of towels, paper products, cleaning stuff and even coffee to make life easy. We actually had cool weather and never had to use the AC - just opened windows and used the fans provided for a cross breeze. Fun place to stay - quiet, charming place off the beaten path, but close to everything. If you want the BEST BBQ in Austin - go to Franklins! In the neighborhood-Breakfast and great coffee-Cenote. Desserts - Naturals. Mexican - just chose a place.!

super cute apartment, be cautious of area after dark
I liked the apartment itself - the setting is super cute, tucked away off the backyard in a residential neighborhood in East Austin on the other side of the I35 from downtown. The apartment was modest and fulfilled my needs. Be aware that it's not really the neighborhood to be walking in at night and you really are going to want a car if you stay here. Not ideal for a female traveling solo without a rental car.

Great little "Alice in Wonderland Apartment!"
I recently had a trip to Austin for Business. I was on a tight budget, but needed to stay near downtown. I LOVED THIS LITTLE ALICE IN WONDERLAND APARTMENT. It was amazingly eclectic, hip, very quiet, and close to Downtown without being in the middle of the traffic & crazy parking issues. I love to cook, and that is one of the reasons I hate staying in hotels- eating out. So, there is an HEB (Grocery store) just a few seconds away from there, and the kitchen is fully loaded with all the cooking utensils I needed, sharp knives, pots & pans, and a convection oven! Very nice. The owner bent over backwards to make my stay perfect, and I found it safe, fun & convenient. There is one tiny setback- I am 6'1"- so the showering was a little tricky. The ceiling is slanted and low in the bathroom, but I gotta say, it's kinda cool looking out the skylight while you are showering! I would recommend this place to anyone (in fact I have already sent two referrals), but please book around me- cause I am going back & back & back!!!

Adorable apartment close to downtown and trails
My husband and I had a great stay here in March 2011. The payment and check-in process could not have been smoother or clearer. The apartment itself was very cute, very clean, and conveniently located. We rented bicycles to get around and loved its proximity to the town lake trail. It's also very close to bus lines. The layout of the apartment is clever given the attic space, and the only place we found headroom to be a little challenging was the bathroom, but even that was fine. The back porch is a great place for a sunny breakfast. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. The apartment provided a great base for exploring Austin. Highly recommended!

loved the treehouse!
Well that beats a hotel any day! I especially enjoyed the way the rooms are decorated, and the cozy nooks, esp. the meditation nook. Another plus is the full kitchen, with very nice cookware and everything we needed to really make great meals. Having a full frig is such a plus. We enjoyed dining on the deck, a nice cool morning! The neighborhood is unique and cozy too, the small houses and people on their porches, felt like a real neighborhood instead of a sterile hotel strip. Wow on the mexican food within walking distance- And the place is cleeeean and very "put together," very sweet. thank you for a great hideaway

Charming
This apartment lives up to its description. It's totally charming, in excellent condition, comfy and artistically decorated. It's small and makes excellent use of the space available. Since it is a converted attic, there are some sections where one cannot stand totally erect, however, the remodeling was designed in such a way as to take that into account. It works - my kudos to the designer! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I travel quite a bit and when I'm gone I rent out the apartment. It's above a house on the happenin' east side of Austin. It's located 1.5 miles to downtown, close to hip bars, coffee shops, music, parks and Lady Bird Lake and that is why I purchased it in 2001.

The clawfoot tub is awesome, located below a skylight so you can look up to the trees and sky.

Enjoy your stay and let me know if you have any questions!

Why they chose this property

This apartment is located just 2 blocks to the hike and bike trail and Town Lake/ Lady Bird Lake. I really enjoy the outdoors, so wanted to be as close as possible to the water and park system. Downtown is also 5 minutes away where you will find the entertainment district, music, restaurants from around the world and so much more.

The apartment is unique, built a few years ago. It was a huge attic space that I converted into a full apartment with a kitchen, a full bath, 3 skylights and a deck in the trees. It's unique and special, and has a flare for the unusual.

What makes this property unique

This is a romantic getaway with uniqueness throughout. It's home away from home, with playful amenities and access to downtown. Authentic Mexican food await you 3 blocks away at Juan in a Million, and vegetarian Mexican food is located 5 blocks away at Mr. Natural. Counter Culture, a Vegan Restaurant is walking distance and yummy! Various bars, music and fun on Cesar Chavez and East 6th St. Downtown close too.

East Austin has an eclectic blend of artists, parks, downtown access and an interesting history all within moments, with access to a few parks and pools only 2 blocks away. Greenbelt close too!
