STAY FAR AWAY......

From check-in on June 28th, we faced numerous issues. The pool was dirty, not just with a few leaves as expected. The basement was frigid, around 50°F, with no way to adjust it. The host claimed it shared the same zone as the first floor, which was warm. The next day, none of the upstairs outlets worked, causing major inconvenience. I had to reset the breakers myself. On June 29th, the AC stopped working, and the temperature reached 78°F, making it unbearable to sleep. The host suggested using fans and closing windows, which were already closed. The basement remained freezing. The property manager blamed us for setting the temperature too low, supposedly causing the system to freeze, though the issues were present since arrival. For two more days, the AC problem persisted, making our $10k+ vacation extremely uncomfortable. The property manager found ice in the air handler and left it open, worsening the freezing basement. Throughout the trip, some outlets worked intermittently, requiring more breaker resets. On the second to last day, we had no hot water and were told to check the circuit breaker again. We spent the last 24-36 hours with no hot water. Despite documenting and complaining about these issues, the host did nothing to remedy the situation. The freezing basement and lack of AC in main living areas from the start were exacerbated by the property manager's actions. This experience was brutal, and I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

About the host

After living in Manhattan for over a decade, we now live in Brooklyn which is our version of suburbia. Our home in East Hampton provides a wonderful escape and we love to share it with renters who also have that "should we leave the city" itch for more space without the commitment of fully relocating.

I work in advertising technology, while my husband works in cyber security. We vacationed out east for years before finally finding a perfect fit in early 2020 and purchased Between Harbors. We are big foodies, and love to help with restaurant recommendations. Our kitchen is also one of the most well-equipped you will see on a rental property.

Why they chose this property

Pre covid, the entire Springs area looked like it had chicken pox in terms of available homes. We scouted out over a dozen all over East Hampton, and ultimately decided the Springs area was the best fit for our needs. Excellent location in terms of accessing nearby beaches, towns, and activities.

What makes this property unique

We have a fantastic backyard and pool setup. As East Hampton beach parking passes are costly and you have to book far in advance, the pool as a backup option for relaxation and entertainment is wonderful to have available. We have spent many a summer day playing music, lounging, grilling, and spending time with loved ones.
