So relaxing and just what we needed. The host are very accommodating and the special note and snacks that were left for us was an added touch! Can’t wait to stay again!
Wow this was such a great house. So many interesting details. Very clean and comfortable. Location is in a quiet neighborhood with a secluded feel. Close to the restaurants and Rte 33.
The whole house decor was so much fun, we loved looking at all of the old things.
There was a bit of a musty smell.
It would be nice to have a second shower, and the outside patio by the hot tub could be cleaned up a little bit. But overall it was a great stay, I would definitely stay here again.

This house had a wonderful, welcoming retro style with nice appliances, art and entertainment. The hot tub was also a bonus. The area around the house was beautiful and tranquil with no noisy neighbors. Very good hospitality all around.

Beautiful step back in time. Well maintained and great communication! Beds were super comfortable. Appreciated the large laundry room. Good shower with plenty of hot water!
my husband and I booked this vrbo for our "babymoon" before we have our first child and we cannot recommend it enough. the vintage touches, modern details and personalized note and gifts from marie were absolutely incredible! we found ourselves immediately at home in the space and so grateful to have the whole house to relax in for the weekend. the bed is extremely comfortable, the hidden tv is one of the coolest things we've seen and the the check-in and check-out process was super simple.
we enjoyed playing an elvis record, having pizza in the formal dining space and playing pong in the game room. this home is so special and marie will truly go the extra mile to make sure you feel comfortable and cared for! there will definitely be a "next time" for staying here - hopefully when I am not pregnant and can enjoy the hot tub - haha! with so many cabins to choose from, this mid-century modern spot was a cool change from what the hocking hills normally offer. it is minutes away from downtown logan and route 33, so going to athens, lancaster or the state park is super doable. wouldn't change a thing!
My fiancé and I got married Saturday, 12/21, and wanted to have a mini honeymoon just to getaway for a couple of days to unwind and enjoy time together just the two of us. We could not be happier with where we stayed. It was in a cute neighborhood but still tucked away where we felt very secluded and private. The location was phenomenal as it was within 10 minutes of several wineries, breweries, and restaurants. The place itself was extremely clean and gave us that cozy/homy feeling. The checkin/checkout process was as seamless as it could possibly be. The property owners were very prompt in replying to my messages and stayed in contact throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. They even got us a very thoughtful/wonderful gift and provided us with snacks for being newlyweds. We will definitely be back and recommend to this place to our family and friends!I do like to leave some constructive feedback on all of my posts. These things in no way had a negative impact or took away from our time there but a few suggestions I have would be to possibly provide tissues in the bathrooms and maybe a roll or two of paper towels for the kitchen, Also, maybe take a look at the water pressure for the shower. Again, these things are very nit picky and should have no negative impact on anyone’s stay at this phenomenal place. I just wanted to mention them in case the property owners wanted to look into it/consider them.
Stayed with a few friends to do some hiking in Hocking Hills over the weekend. Most train heads are only about a 10-15 min drive. Restaurants, winery, and brewery are only a few minutes away. The hot tub was a treat at the end of a long day of hiking. Vibe of the house was great including reading the story that the owner had left about all the vintage items and updates they've made. We also loved the record player! House feels secluded in the hills and plenty of parking on site. Highly recommend and if we ever come back for a weekend, we'd be sure to stay here again.
We are local and absolutely love living in the Hocking Hills. We love hiking, kayaking, and restoring old houses to their original glory with modern amenities. Hosting our vacation oasis is a great opportunity to share not only our beautiful area, but to also show that original character in an old house can still be appreciated with modern conveniences.
Why they chose this property
While Heleena is in a neighborhood, it feels completely secluded. Right outside of town yet only minutes from activities, food, hiking, and canoeing/kayaking.
What makes this property unique
Heleena is not a cabin, she is a 1958 beauty that allows you to explore the mid century. The mid century had a lot of ideas and designs to modernize. We offer a glimpse of those designs throughout from mid century modern aspects to atomic to moderate. We also keep you on your toes with vintage items changing time to time. Come explore a bit of history!
