We came to SW Colorado to do some skiiing at Purgatory, and this vrbo was great! It's a nice midway point if you are planning to spend time in Durango and Purgatory like we did. The kitchen had everything we needed (and some things we forgot). We truly appreciated the little box of hot cocoa after hitting the slopes.
We had a great stay here. We came for a week of skiing at Purgatory. The place had everything we needed and then some. Everything was labeled with either what it was or how to use it and this was the best part. We didn’t have to guess what went where or what something was for. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. It 15 min to town and 15 min to the slopes. You can’t beat that. The people that live there were super nice and the grounds keeper was the kindest. I would highly recommend this place
My sister and I stayed the weekend with her kids. The place was clean and conveniently located. It was well stocked and comfortable and just what we needed. Highly recommended.
My family and I loved staying here. It felt very homey and was perfect for our family of four. The bunk beds were a plus since we have a teenage boy and a teenage girl. The only reason for the four is the traffic that comes by is loud but that can not be controlled by the owner.
Our stay was perfect. So comfortable and clean, it had everything you need and made me feel more at home than most places I've stayed. Host was very kind and easy to get in touch with. I arrived alone with my two kids in the dark, which wasn't ideal, but when I ran into a tenant from another apartment, they were super nice. I also lost my keys on my way from the car to the apartment, and didn't realize it for an hour. Somebody kindly put them right on the stairs for me, so I knew it was a very safe and friendly place. Highly recommended, wonderfully quiet for the kiddos. Would definitely stay here again.
I was running late on time and had to book a last-minute stay in Durango. The condo was budget-friendly and easy for me and my family. Chris was extremely accommodating with check-in and check out, and our stay was very pleasant and without any hiccups.
Good location, between town of Durango and purgatory ski resort.
Good location, about 15 min between town of Durango and purgatory ski resort. Apt was clean but had smoke smell. The kitchen sink drain slowly and garbage disposal didn't work, Minor issue for us. We would rent again because it had plenty of space.
Good location for being close to the mountains but also close to Durango. Very friendly neighborhood, clean house and Chris was very quick to respond and helpful whenever we had questions. The house is very well stocked for full time living, which is rare with rentals. No complaints other than a bit of traffic noise when sitting on balcony. Still spent most our time out there because it’s so beautiful, you get use to the car noises.
The best VRBO experience we have had to date! Super clean apartment that felt like home while we were in Durango. Everything was provided, even things we didn’t think of were there. Games and puzzles and all of the reading material about the area. Also loved being able to hear the steam train going by and blowing their horn. The only thing we were surprised at was that there was no air conditioning. It was a bit hot in the afternoons but being Colorado, I am guessing most places wouldn’t use air conditioning all that much anyway. We were able to open all the windows and use the fans provided so it was tolerable. Would definitely stay here again!
The place was very nice with games, movies, and water- they even had towels for the hot springs and river 😁
When we arrived the place stank of pot- this could have been the neighbors or a previous guest. After opening the windows for a short time (~30 minutes) the apartment smelled great.
I’m not sure if this would be a problem normally, but while we were there it was also a big motorcycle convention and with the place being so close to the highway it did get quite noisy with the motorcycles going up and down the highway.
Overall this was a very nice place in a very convenient location for getting to and from everything. It was also very reasonably priced. I’d highly recommend.
The VRBO that We stayed at is about 12 miles north of Durango, but an easy 10-15 minute drive. The condo is on the third tier, but I’m 82 and it was an OK climb for me. The place sleeps 7; we were a family of 5. It’s far enough from Durango so the stars are brilliant at night if you like star gazing. The property manager is easy to contact and bends over backwards to please his guests. The place is better supplied for guests than any I have stayed at. It is an end unit, so the highway noise is loud in the early evening, but quiets down overnight.
Nearby is James Ranch which is a wonderful ranch that is environmentally sustainable in all methods of farming. The quality of the food is celebrated in the area. It’s a real treat to learn about what they do. It was one of the highlights of my Durango visit.
