No need to fight over who gets the ocean view in this fabulous 6-bedroom, 4-bath home on a private, rocky beach! With 270 degrees of blue-water views, four of the bedrooms have full views of the Pacific and Monterey Bay. The fifth and sixth bedrooms have a quiet courtyard view just in case somebody doesn't like to go to sleep to the sound of the waves, or watch the moon sinking into the sea at night.

Our home, known since 1929 as Rocky Shores, is minutes from Carmel and Cannery Row in Monterey, and Pebble Beach is our neighbor. We operate under Pacific Grove's short-term rental license #486.

We have a fully stocked gourmet kitchen - and the cook gets an ocean view, too. Dining table seats 10, 14 with extension. Foosball, pinball, ping pong, Legos, art and drawing supplies, puzzles, games and other toys for the kids. Steinway grand piano for the musically inclined. Off-street parking for six cars is available.

Working on vacation? We have 5 workstations available, in separate rooms, and free high-speed wifi.

Trip Advisor has chosen Pacific Grove as one of the top 12 scenic destinations in the United States! And there is no more beautiful home base than Rocky Shores to explore our wonderful town. Surf, snorkel, or comb the beautiful beaches and coves. Make S'mores at a bonfire on our secluded beach.

Nice restaurants just two blocks away. Fabulous Pacific Grove golf course is across the street. Downtown Pacific Grove is 1.5 miles away, with movie theater, farmers' market, restaurants, coffee houses, antiques, shops, bakeries and natural history museum. The world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and the American Tin Cannery outlets are about 2 miles away, as is Monterey's Fishermen's Wharf. Wine tasting in Carmel Valley is 30 minutes away. Big Sur is about 45 minutes away. John Steinbeck Museum is about 35 minutes away. We have a whole-house Rainsoft water conditioning system, Guardian Technologies advanced air purifier for the den [its pre-filter captures initial dust and allergen particles, its activated carbon filter traps and controls odors, and its UV-C Light works with Titanium dioxide to help eliminate airborne germs]. Family Reunion at Rocky Shores

We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday last week with family members from Arizona, San Diego, Washington, and San Jose, and we had a marvelous time! Kirstie and Hannah were lovely and such gracious hosts, and we can't thank them enough for their hospitality. The house was perfect for our group, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring Pacific Grove, Monterey, Carmel, and more! The house was immaculate and oh so comfy. Most of us spent a good part of our week enjoying walks on the beach and exploring the amazing tide pools. We prepared dinners every night in the spacious, beautiful kitchen, and all the comforts of home were available for cooking and BBQ'ing. This was definitely a 10 out of 10 experience and we would love to visit again in the future!

Family Reunion

What a beautiful home! This home was perfect for our family gathering. Kirstie and Hannah were very welcoming and we received a very informative tour of the property upon arrival. The home was spotless and kitchen well stocked for cooking. The views of the sunset were breathtaking. We had a fabulous stay.

Old guys group

We have a group of 8-10 guys who have done a week long ski trip for over 40 years. Father time has finally caught up, so this is our first non ski trip together. Could not have been better. Facilities perfect, location unsurpassed. The property manager and caretaker were on top of everything and very available. We took walks, played golf, went on a hike in Big Sur. All good

Amazing Thanksgiving location

Our family stayed at this wonderful Pacific Grove home over Thanksgiving. The home is a bit on the older side with some quirkiness here and there, but has been updated with most all the modern conveniences you could want. There are also some very cool and unusual features like a real operating pinball machine, a Steinway player piano and a modern jacuzzi. But the real killer feature is the location. There are other homes that overlook the ocean in Pacific Grove, but hardly any of them are on the ocean side of the road with no obstructions to the water. You literally look out the windows and see the waves crashing on the rocks. You can also see tons of pelicans flying by and sea otters frolicking in the surf. Watching the sunset while sitting in the jacuzzi is just ridiculously beautiful. We had a great time staying at this very special home.

Family get together

Once you walk into this beautiful home, you won't want to leave. Our family of 8- All adults, came to celebrate a birthday.The kitchen has all the appliances you could need. The gas stove is easy to use, and the refrigerator is stocked with most any condiments you would need. So stop in first before you shop. The view alone will make you just want to sit and relax. And the spa is a wonderful place to be after a day out ( or in). We just loved it.

Serenity in the serene

The house is a dream for those that are looking to get away and be right in the heart of the Monterey, PG, Carmel experience. One of two homes that are directly on the ocean, this two-story was a uniquely refreshing stay for my group as we worked an event at the nearby Laguna Seca track. There are so many cool little touches to the house that make it feel like a home. A lot of VRBOs feel like they have been sanitized to be more of a hotel than a house. We really enjoyed watching movies in the theater room on the laserdisc, they have quite the collection of Laser discs, DVDs and VHS. The kitchen was very well equipped and having the gas grill made it very easy to make meals at night. Rooms were well sized and offered different options for those that stayed there. Having four showers was great for quick exits in the morning to get to the track. The "hidden bedroom" was really special and had some of the best windows to look out onto the ocean. Kirstie and Hannah are great hosts and were extremely communicative and accommodating throughout the stay. Their recommendations for things to do and see around the area as well as some of the special things that can offer at the house were of interest, but unfortunately we could not take advantage of.

Oceanfront location a real treasure!

This was a family vacation with 10 adults (6 over 70) and 2 children. The house and location worked for everyone. We had a wonderful time! In addition to the games and crafts they brought with them, the kids loved the pinball machine, the tidepool, the player piano. They had their first snorkeling experience at Lovers Point and four of us pedaled a surrey with them to the breakwater to see the sea lions. We all walked the path from the house toward Lovers Point every day. The chairs overlooking the ocean were well used. Bliss! Adults had fun with the ping pong table and we all loved the hot tub. We cooked and ate mostly at home, except for a special dinner in Fandango's wine room for a 50th anniversary celebration. Truly a memorable time. Thanks you VRBO and Kirstie for making this oceanfront tresasure available.

Amazing location and well appointed home

We stayed here for a week with our adult children and grandchidren. Hannah met us when we arrived and gave us a tour that introduced us to the property and all of its quirkiness (in a good way). It was quiet and comfortable and had every amenity we could ask for, from the chefs kitchen, the hot tub, the fire pits, and of course the Pinball machine which got exercised regularly (963,000 points here, killing the competition from the millennials!). The views are amazing. A great find and I highly recommend staying at this jewel in pacific grove.

Fantastic location and Service

This house was a perfect fit for a small group of friends getting together to just hang out and have a little relaxation and fun. Perfect location, plenty of room, lots of amenities. Hannah and Kirstie provided top notch service anytime we had questions on the house or needed a few extra supplies. We will be back!

Family vacation

The property was very clean and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed long walks on the easy access paths to searching for sea glass on the private beach during our stay. The views were absolutely amazing!! I Look forward to returning to this property. The caretaker on the property is very respectful of your privacy...you don't even know they are there.

Perfect setting!

A group of six high school girlfriends stayed here. It was hard to leave the house!! The view was absolutely gorgeous, picture perfect view of the sunset every night. The house worked well for us: great gathering spaces, handy well-stocked kitchen and pinball! The beds were comfortable and the house was spotless. The hosts had lots of information about the area and were very helpful. We will probably be back!

You can stop looking, this is the one to book

I'll get to it but this view is simply beyond compare. We are 6 women who adored this rental. The location is spectacular, close to Pebble Beach, Big Sur State Park, Point Lobos, Monterey and Carmel by The Sea. If you are a walker, you will love this location. If you intend to begin walking, this is the place to start.. The Hot tub was cleaned daily, the beds were cozy and the presentation of towels and soap was lovely. The kitchen is very well stocked and we were never at a loss for any cookware, obscure kitchen utensil or condiment, truly appreciated. The gorgeous stone fireplace was sheer perfection on our one drizzly evening along with the surround sound Sonos music system, easy to download pre trip. My communication with Kirstie and Hannah was flawless, we felt welcomed long before we stepped through the gate. This view.....I cannot imagine a more stunning view. There was wildlife in our yard, walking right in front of us as we sat in the Adirondack chairs, views of Pebble Beach, crashing waves to sleep by and moments of sheer peace looking out at the sea. We could not have asked for anything more, we absolutely loved everything about our Pacific Grove respite. We fully intend to re-book.

Spectacular Views and Tidepool Access

The location of this house is unbeatable – on the ocean-side of the coast road near Asilomar. Large living/dining room has a full wall of windows with ocean view and direct access to the rocky shore. Nice well-supplied kitchen. Great for a large family group, as long as everyone is OK with the unusual bedroom layouts. Master bedroom is fantastic, and three other 2nd floor bedrooms also have great ocean views (note that 2 of those upstairs bedrooms are tandem). The two bedrooms on the first floor are pretty dark and have no ocean view (views only into courtyard). But beds are comfortable and we spent all our time in the LR/DR and out in the tidepools. Tesla charger was a big plus for us, as was the fully usable 2-car garage and ping pong table.

Lovely home on the water. Everything was in good working order and the kitchen was fully stocked with every cooking utensil you could need. Beds are so-o-o comfortable and the ocean view is spectacular. Highly recommend this wonderful location. The owner is great!

Most amazing view on Monterey Peninsula!

This house is one of a kind in the Monterey area, ocean front with views from multiple rooms. Sea otters frolic right in the cove in front of the house. Plus a hot tup with an ocean view! Walking trails right from the house and close to Pacific Grove downtown. A real gem!

An amazing week we'll never forget

This place is a truly unique and amazing home, where we had a wonderful time with family. My sister and I hosted an extended weekend for our parents’ 40th anniversary and invited a hand full of relatives - and our dachshund puppy. We were looking for somewhere relaxing and close to the coast, where we could hang out for a few days together and host a small catered luncheon. The house and its location is very special and rare, with so much character - everyone loved it. It had the perfect mix of the best parts of Pacific Grove. The property could not get any closer to the water and the views were surreal. Our guests kept sharing how remarkable the waves were and how they could watch them all day long. We enjoyed the walking paths, cooking at the house, and hanging around the nearby areas. The home's layout is very unique and fun, while still providing plenty of privacy and space. If you want a cookie cutter house, this isn’t it. The rooms promote a cozy and familiar atmosphere, while providing plenty of space so folks can have time to themselves. The house is on the older side (which is also what gives it so much character) so there were some plumbing issues, but Kirstie had them addressed immediately. Given the location and age of the home, we understood issues may happen and everything was resolved quickly. There were several reminders around the property around how to keep things working properly and to keep things clean, which shows how much the owners care about giving a great experience to their guests. Ultimately, the week turned out better than we could have imagined and everyone had an extremely memorable weekend. My parents are already nudging their friends to host the next vacation at this property again. I 100% recommend this place for a group who wants to disconnect with the sound of waves and have a memorable vacation in a once in a lifetime location.

Lovely stay in coastal paradise

This home has that wow factor! AMAZING property located in such a special spot! Hop on the walking trail or hang down at the cove in the pretty waves. Or sun on the upper deck in total privacy and leave your troubles behind! Host is super helpful, made our stay like home. Kitchen fully equipped with all you need for a gourmet meal! Why they chose this property

We bought our home because it was the only home directly on the beach in all of Pacific Grove. It was extremely private, with a golf course across the street, State Park surrounding us, and the blue Pacific as our backyard. We have a full acre of private property. Another residence has since been built next door, on its own acre of land. A portion of our stone driveway is shared by both homes.

What makes this property unique

I love to look out my window and see the full moon casting sparkling light onto the dark waves as it sinks to the horizon. On clear evenings, the sunsets are spectacular. The morning sunrise casts a pink glow on the waves. And when it is foggy, there is a magic about the property that is enhanced with a roaring wood blaze in the fireplace, or a glass of wine in the hot tub.
