This is an older home whose decor and furnishings had our personality written all over it! Well stocked kitchen to cook a family dinner, nice sized rooms for all of our needs and vintage charm that pressed all of our buttons.
My group of friends really enjoyed this place and the location. The listing is very accurate -- it has a lot of old home appeal and charm. Thank you to the host who provided every detail possible and communicated in a kind way. The one issue we had was the lack of curtains on any windows. Room darkeners would be nice as an option for the bedrooms.
There were 4 of us staying to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday and our daughter’s 50th. It was just the nuclear family — no son-in-law or daughter-in-law and no grandchildren. This was the perfect spot. The house was immediately welcoming and comfortable. It was very clean and well-equipped. The kitchen was big enough for all 4 of us to make wonderful meals (shucked 60 oysters). My husband and I, being older, were very careful on the stairs. That would be my only warning to others.
We were here for a wedding at Black Mtn Ranch, so didn’t spend a whole lot of time at the house, but when we did it was very pleasant! Quirky old house with a remodeled kitchen (nice!) and all kinds of interesting artifacts and comfy old furniture. Speaking of comfy, the beds were that. One thing to note - the three bedrooms are upstairs. The one bathroom upstairs does not have a shower. We made it work, though. We had some nice walks in the neighborhood and down to the shore of Tomales Bay. Also it was pleasant to sit in the garden and chat there. Glad we didn’t bring our little dog. I think he would have had trouble navigating the stairs. All in all, a nice stay.
This is an old house, with some quirky features but has a nice feel. The floors creak a little and there is no shower upstairs (just a bathtub), but it's decorated with all kinds of interesting unique art and it feels like you're in someone's home, rather than a cookie cutter rental. Lots of outdoor seating and a nice yard. We went in September so didn't need the fireplace. There is no other heat source, so in the winter the upstairs might be chilly. There's a piano if anyone is musically inclined. Beds are very comfy. As with many hotels and rentals, there is just a sheet on the bed and a big heavy comforter. I wish something in between was supplied (a blanket) but we made do with some sofa throws from downstairs.
There were lots of condiments, spices and other food there, although we brought most of what we needed.
We enjoyed our stay (three women friends on a girls trip).
The five of us enjoyed our 2 night stay at this property. Access was a little complicated due to the lockbox but we quickly received help from the property manager. All the amenities are as stated. We were a bit disappointed in the lack of a hot tub as it was mentioned when we booked months ago but the hot outdoor shower was enjoyable. The property is rustic and quirky. So many interesting curios around every corner. The TV, dishwasher, stove and fireplace all worked well. Our one concern was the staircase to the 2nd floor. It lacks a railing and the bathroom at the top sits right at the edge of it. We just kept the hall light on all night so no one would fall in the dark. But the addition of a railing to the staircase would be appreciated. Inverness and neighboring towns all are close. We enjoyed hiking, shopping and dining.
this charming cozy, very well equipped rental was everything I wanted and more beautiful neighborhood with great walks close to the water close to shops. The host could not have been more helpful and thoughtful. It was wonderful.
This is a special house. We loved cozy mornings with the sunshine streaming in, lunch in the porch and walks with the dog in this charming neighborhood. Inverness is such a treat.
Lots of room to relax inside or out, and get a great night sleep after exploring Pt Reyes National Park and towns along Tomales Bay! Loved the old wooden walls, staircase, and antique touches. Would have loved to take a bath, but the downstairs shower in the closed off laundry area felt private enough though tiny. I so prefer unique vs. IKEA clone places like this!
I spent a month working remotely and enjoying Inverness—a new area for me. Home is beautiful and met my needs perfectly. I needed WiFi and phone access. Yard was perfect for my dog. Quiet locale in January. Property owner was helpful and easy to work with. Stayed in touch with me and answered my questions throughout the process.
This home is so special. It’s steeped in history and in the best location. I was worried about being warm at night because the house is only heated with a wood burning stove, but we were toasty warm all night.
Meg's house was so lovely and in such a great location! My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time relaxing in the house and in the yard space, which was all so cozy and well equipped. Short drive from Point Reyes main downtown area and a quick walk to some cute restaurants and a grocery store. Meg provided very detailed instructions and was a great host. Would highly recommend!
House has a ton of character. Well stocked. Kitchen was great. We had everything we needed to make several meals. Living room was large and fit our semi large group comfortably. Master bedroom was nice. A few things that would be helpful: update upstairs bathroom to include a shower in tub. Nobody in our group wanted to take a bath and the lower level bathroom doesn’t feel very private, as it’s right off of the kitchen. House is fully enclosed by a fence and communication wasn’t very good on accessing home. I had to call to get code for lockbox as this info wasn’t provided in advance.
We loved everything about this cozy and classic home, from the wood paneling, to the spacious and well-appointed outdoor spaces and updated kitchen with everything we needed.
Little details like super comfortable beds with lovely linens and lots of blankets to use while watching TV at night. The outdoor shower was incredible, such a treat. Dinners outside every night surrounded by giant rose bushes and fragrant jasmine.
A quick walk to Saltwater for a special dinner and the Inverness Store for staples we needed throughout our stay like coffee and ice cream. Peaceful and beautiful walks up the hills and around the neighborhood.
This was no boring Ikea-designed rental; it felt like we were staying at an old friend's gem of a home.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this home. It was exactly what we were looking for (Quiet and near beaches and outdoor activities) The home had a few additions that made it even better(binoculars, towels, sunscreen). Things others may find concerning: spiders, and conservation of water
Things we were concerned about: loose front door handle, a door code that does not change, a man was present at check in who introduced himself as the maintenance man.
We would return to this home because of its location and the fun we found in that area.

A most beautiful house filled with spirit and creativity.
Loved staying at this house with our family. The outdoor spaces are wonderful for relaxing and eating all meals outdoors, and the house is lovely. Our kids loved walking to the library a few doors down.
We really enjoyed this great place, super tranquil and relaxing and it had all that we needed. The outdoor space is amazing. Great location and surrounded by beautiful, green lush vegetation.
Really interesting house with lots of outdoor seating…unfortunately, it was too cold to enjoy the spacious outdoor area during our stay. The place tended to be on the cold side, despite an indoor heater, wood stove, and space heaters. So, pack lots of sweaters and such, if you are staying there in the winter, as we did. The property description left us a little confused about what we were getting…there’s mention of the wood stove and outdoor shower but no mention of a hidden bathroom in the laundry area or that WiFi is included. Otherwise, I enjoyed staying there and would do so again anytime! =)
