Another Great Stay
We came in June and loved being able to swim but winter here has my heart! The rain, how lush and green everything was and being able to use the fireplace each night to keep warm was the perfect way for us to spend Christmas this year.

Magical Cabin Getaway
The cabin is a fantastic, mid-century, wooden structure with modern updates, ambient lighting, a fully functioning kitchen, wood stove, and abundant windows with gorgeous views of the forest and Ward Creek. My partner and our 15 year old dog spent Thanksgiving here and had the most wonderful time cooking and feeling cozy while we played games at the ample dining room table near the warm fire. Hobbit paths of mossy rocks wind through the property down through redwood stands to the crystal clear creek. Half way down is a claw-foot tub, with hot and cold running water, tucked into a rock cave shaded by hanging strands of ivy. I took an amazing soak and really let the whole world drift away as I looked out through the ivy curtain to the peaceful scene around me. We were here the night before a New Moon and the stars were amazing. Next time, I will tuck my phone deep into a bag, soak in the tub first thing, and set an intention for a truly restorative getaway. The hosts sent a guide app that answered nearly all our questions. When I did have a question about the kitchen amenities, Carrie quickly responded with the info I needed. The little touches like wool blankets and dominoes and natural dish sponges were greatly appreciated. It was quite cold, so we didn't use the deck or the pergola area, but I imagine this would be a really fun place to spend time in the summer. I look forward to returning.

Perfect Getaway (again)
This has become our new go-to spot a summer getaway. The cabin is great, the host is kind and responsive, and the private water access can't be beat. We'll definitely be back next year!

Perfect Escape
This was honestly one of the better places we have stayed. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I to decompress along with our 15 year old dog who to our surprise handled the little trek down to the creek and back really well. It has the perfect modern touches but also such a cabin feel. The bath was absolutely amazing and the private creek access was more than imagined it would be. This place exceeded our expectations and all we had to bring was food and ourselves. The general store up the street also had a lot of quick grabs and we were able to try some meats from a local meat company that were fabulous! Stay here, you won’t regret it!!

Always, always a fantastic stay
This was my second stay at Camp Caz, and it has become my go-to recommendation for a Russian River getaway. The cabin is gorgeous and always very well stocked. The river below is an especial gem. I’ve seen it now in both the summer and winter—it’s breathtakingly amazing in both seasons. That said, I have to enthusiastically endorse how wonderful it was to soak in the river this time after a long hike. This is one of those places that’s so lovely, I almost don’t want to tell y’all. But I can’t keep it to myself: if you want a gorgeous, comfy place to finally fully relax, this is it.

Fantastic stay, lives up to its ratings
I stayed here with my partner and pup for our anniversary and found camp caz to be incredibly enchanting. The property is very beautiful, quiet, and removed from urban life. The cabin was very clean, well stocked, and tastefully decorated. We found it very easy to immediately disconnect and sink into a slower pace for a few days. Carrie was enormously helpful from start to finish, and made sure we had all the information we needed to make our stay successful. I was particularly impressed by her guide’s recommendations for places to eat and stop; we used this extensively and had a lovely time 🙂 Overall, I can’t wait to come back. Although I can see the merit of a summer visit (and hope to plan one soon) I do highly recommend staying here during the colder months for the fresh air and great hiking.

MAGICAL OASIS
My husband and I stayed at Camp Caz on our mini-moon and had the most magical time. It rained pretty much the whole time and we lost the internet for a bit BUT not anyone's fault but Mother Nature! We had so much fun, the river was raging and made for the best soundtrack to play games to as well as making us sleep like babies. We made a few super delicious meals the kitchen is equipped with everything you'd need. We felt like we were in our own private forrest. The records and the old nat. Geo's in the bedroom set the tone for a wonderful trip. We look forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the river in hot weather mode. Oh and the outdoor bathtub is a MUST even in a rainstorm in December :) Thank you Carrie!

Magical respite
Stunning property. Well stocked kitchen with supplies to make/cook just about anything. There were plenty of blankets and pillows and overall just a beautiful place to relax and be cozy. The general store is only a few minutes away and seems to have pretty much anything you might want to pick up from groceries to toiletries to made to order coffee and sandwiches. I really look forward to returning!

Absolutely AMAZING!!
We LOVED our stay at Camp Caz! The cabin is exactly as stated in the listing and more. The property is absolutely gorgeous and quiet (a perfect 4th of July escape from fireworks). The walk down to the creek is steep, but has a lot of natural steps built in and is totally worth it for the peaceful private float life. This was my first foray into VRBO and the hosts were responsive and kind with every question. Thanks for letting us stay, we are already planning our return next year!

Perfect getaway
I loved staying at camp caz. The peaceful secluded area made the trip very relaxing. It was hot (in the high 90s) the weekend we stayed in July, so the creek and outdoor bathtub were perfect for cooling off. Kitchen is very well stocked and there was even some leftover charcoal for the bbq. Also leftover, was some much needed bug spray as there are some mosquitoes and ticks. We had fun playing the vinyl records. The phone app you can install before your trip is the coolest thing as there was no reception when we arrived. The app offers all the tips and instructions on checking in and out. We did check out the campsite and loved that there was a rake to clear up some of the fallen leaves also a little box of some supplies. Camp caz just has so much to offer. We discussed going back since we enjoyed this place so much and definitely need more than 2 nights there.

Cool unique property!
I went with my wife and kids, and we absolutely loved it. It was an awesome place, and I'm sure one that will stay in our memories a very long time. Let me start with a couple of caveats... if you want to go down to the water, you should be in good enough shape for a short but significantly steep hike. If you have terrible knees or something, you will have trouble. Also, the driveway is quite steep/narrow. It was absolutely no problem for me, but my kids tend to get anxious about stuff like that, so just be warned. The property itself feels so private/remote, really brings you close to nature. The creek view (especially this time of year right after the heavy rains we've had) is just absolutely spectacular. Rushing water over pristine rocks surrounded by mossy forest backdrop is all just picture perfect. My older kid literally said "I think this is the most majestic place I've ever stayed". Despite the steep hike, we went down to the water at least once a day to enjoy the view and spend time by the water. The outdoor tub set into a cleft in a rock wall is really something else. It was my wife's favorite spot and has to be seen to be appreciated. The house is small but well stocked and had absolutely everything we needed. Nice decorative touches. The beds are admittedly small but perfectly serviceable and we slept well. The owner communicated well and checked up on us to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommended!

About the host

Living in San Francisco, your host Carrie is a small business owner and mother of two young boys. She loves living in the city; however, values being able to “head for the hills” whenever she wants. Since its purchase in 2014, “Camp Caz” has been the gathering place for family and friends. SIP restraints prompted her to open her home for others to enjoy the fresh air and watch the sunlight settle into the Redwoods. Please enjoy!
